The Daily Brief - Friday, March 18, 2011

"For thus saith the Lord of hosts; Yet once, it is a little while, and I will shake the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land; and I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come: and I will fill this house with glory, saith the Lord of hosts." (Haggai 2:6,7)

The Daily Brief

1. U.N. draws line in sand - World Net Daily

For the first time since Iraq invaded Kuwait in 1990, the U.N. Security Council has told a member state it runs the risk of war.

In a last-ditch effort to rescue a faltering rebellion in Libya, the council today adopted a resolution warning the government of Moammar Gadhafi of potential military action.

But the U.N. may not have the military assets available to enforce its decree.

While the White House insists the vote was a "strong signal" to the Libyan government, the council showed some reservations with a weak tally of only 10 members voting in favor while the remaining five abstained. Russia, China, Germany, India and Brazil all decided to sit on the sidelines.

U.S./U.N. ambassador Susan Rice insisted she was "pleased with the vote." Bolton said he "was shocked" and insisted Gadhafi is not likely to be intimidated:

- Father, we stand in the gap for these countries and ask for wisdom for the leaders. We also stand in the gap for all those whose lives are being terminated because of this unrest. We ask for salvation for their souls, for we know that it is not your will that any should perish.

- Wisdom will save you from the ways of wicked men, from men whose words are perverse, who leave the straight paths to walk in dark ways, who delight in doing wrong and rejoice in the perverseness of evil, whose paths are crooked and who are devious in their ways. (Proverbs 2:12-15)

2. FBI chief confirms ties cut with U.S. Moslem Group - World Net Daily

In stunning testimony on Capitol Hill, the head of the FBI explained his agency has cut off ties to the most influential Moslem cult organization in America due to concerns over its leaders' association with terrorism.

Since the Justice Department linked the Washington-based Council on American-Islamic Relations to a 2008 terror-finance case, the FBI has refused to work directly with the group's national office or any of its 30-plus chapters across the country.

- Father, we thank you for the action of the FBI to cut off ties to this organization. We also thank you for Representative King and the hearings he held a week ago despite much opposition from various groups. Lord, we ask that you would raise up many leaders who are willing to go "against the grain" to uncover the truth; who are willing to risk their reputation, career, and even their lives for the sake of truth. Father, please raise up leaders who are willing to give all for what they believe in and please continue to expose the truth of radical Islam and its infiltration into the United States of America.

- For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me and for the gospel will save it. (Mark 8:35)

3. Next Step for Airport Security: Scanners for Your Shoes - World Net Daily

It might not be long before airport security will let you keep your shoes on, even if they do grope you.

The Transportation Security Administration announced this week that it's accepting proposals for a "shoe scanner" device. It could be a way to cut down on the aggravations of airline travel while still allowing officials to check for weapons and explosives inside a terrorist's Reeboks. The idea crashed and burned when the Department of Homeland Security first proposed it years ago.

The current push to acquire the devices kicks off on April 25, when would-be designers will have the chance to submit proposals for the scanners.

- Father, we ask that You would give us your perspective on this situation regarding security. We ask that You place people in positions who will effectively administer security for the nation. Remove and expose those who are profiting from a dangerous situation or who are unwilling to stand for truth.

- Woe to them! They have taken the way of Cain; they have rushed for profit into Balaam's error; " (Jude 1:11)

4. Donald Trump wonders about Obama eligibility - World Net Daily

Now flamboyant billionaire Donald Trump, whose name has been surging past lesser-knowns among rumored candidates for the GOP's 2012 presidential nomination, says he has reason to wonder about Barack Obama's eligibility to be president.

Questions about Obama's qualifications under the U.S. Constitution's requirement that a president be a "natural born Citizen" have been around since before he was elected: Multiple cases have been filed in court, a military officer has been sent to prison over the issue and significant numbers of the American population have major doubts about his story of being born in Hawaii.

- Father, we hear reports of many cases questioning Mr. Obama's eligibility to serve as President of the United States. There is even a case of a member of the military service who is being taken to court for not obeying a command from the White House, because he did not believe the one giving the command was eligible. We bring these cases before you, Lord, and ask that the truth will be revealed. We ask that if Obama is not eligible to serve, that you would prepare the American people for the consequences that must follow. Father, we repent from turning away from you and ask that you would give us leaders who will acknowledge you as their king.

- When that day comes, you will cry out for relief from the king you have chosen" (1 Sam. 8:18)

The Middle East in Focus

This week, for all the headlines cited below, please join us in proclaiming THIS DECREE:

"For behold, in those days and at that time, when I bring back the captives of Judah and Jerusalem, I will also gather all nations, and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat; and I will enter into judgment with them there on account of My people, My heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations; they have also divided up My land. (Joel 3:1-2)

1. Barak warns 'tsunami' of sanctions awaits Israel - Washington Times

Israel faces a "diplomatic tsunami" that could erode its international support and bolster its enemies in the Middle East, the Jewish state's defense minister said this week.

2. Netanyahu: Only fear of possible strike could stop Iran's nuclear progress - Ha'aretz

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Wednesday the world must make clear that Iran would face "credible military action" if sanctions do not shut down Tehran's disputed nuclear program.

3. 10 mortars fired at Negev; no injuries - Ynet News

Palestinian terrorists in north Gaza fired 10 mortars towards Israel's western Negev region on Friday. Four of the shells were fired before noon. Some of them landed in Palestinian territory.

The Daily Jot

The prophetic one world order coming into focus

China, Russia, India, Brazil and many other countries have been calling for an international one world currency for quite some time. Throughout the world, it has been the United States dollar that served as the base currency in world trade. In fact, it has been the United States that has stood in the breech preventing a world government from forming since after World War II. But since the past Bush Administration through the current Administration, sovereignty in the United States is on the decline from a policy point of view, and the one world order is coming into focus at a faster rate than ever before in history. The United States is not only part of this juggernaut, this Administration is leading it.

Wednesday, Reuters reported Treasury Secretary Timothy Geitner said he was open to what amounts to a global currency through the International Monetary Fund as suggested by China. Reuters quoted Geitner as saying, "as I understand it, it's a proposal designed to increase the use of the IMF's Special Drawing Rights. I am actually quite open to that suggestion." In the past, Geitner has rocked financial markets by hinting that he favors a worldwide currency replacing the dollar. In a congressional hearing on Tuesday, Minnesota Republican Michelle Bachmann asked Geitner if he categorically renounced the US moving toward a world currency as suggested by China. Geitner replied, "I would, yes."

To categorically renounce moving toward a currency plan by China, then a day later say that you are open to it, is the same as lying to Congress. Notwithstanding is the deeper issue--that this administration is continuing at an accelerated pace the previous Administration's dash to a one world order. Another example is deference to the United Nations on foreign policy. Instead of providing moral and decisive leadership on Libya, the White House asked the UN to direct foreign policy. The White House has been particularly mum on the disaster in Japan, allowing international relief agencies to lead. The "stepping back" of American leadership in world situations is tantamount to transferring its power to the UN.

Meantime, there is little being done to stem the hemorrhage in the US economy, other than the White House, through Geitner, asking to raise more debt, further indemnifying the American taxpayer to China and other holders of US debt. And now, the cost of living, according to the Labor Department, is highest in American history. Revelation prophesies the rise of a one world government under the antichrist. Revelation 13:16, 17 says, "And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or on their foreheads: and that no man might buy or sell save that he had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name." It starts with a one world currency.

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

URGENT PRAYER NEEDED - EGYPT & PAKISTAN

1. Pray for Saturday's referendum in Egypt

Please pray for the referendum in Egypt on Saturday 19th March, which most Christians hope will be a "NO." If the majority vote is "YES" the current constitution will be reworked in 8 articles, a kind of patching up of an old cloth. Most of the starters of the 25th January revolution and many of the Christian community plan to vote "NO". This "no" vote would require at least a year to write a new constitution truly guaranteeing Egyptians true freedoms in Human rights, belief and social justice irrespective of gender, race, skin color, or religion. By contrast, the Moslem Brotherhood and the Former National Party are pushing hard to have a yes vote, which most Christians fear would send Egypt back to its fundamentalist mindset of the past decades.

- Please also pray against violence breaking out during the voting time to disrupt the process by the Muslim Brotherhood and the Former National Party. There is also fear that violence will erupt if the vote was against their desires.

- Rejoice that this is the first time the Christians are motivated to place their votes and give their opinion on the future of the country.

- Pray also for the heated situation in Alexandria, where security is absent and anything could cause an eruption of violence in the streets. The Islamists are directly threatening and intimidating the citizens to vote yes.

2. Pray for Situation in Pakistan

There are planned protests across the country following the release of American CIA operative who was arrested for murder in Lahore a month ago. This has added to the tension and extremist pressures that were building up in the country. Open proclamations and declarations are being made on TV Channels that all non Muslims and foreigners should be killed. Raymond Davis, the operative, was released into US custody two days ago and although his faith remains unknown, he has become linked to the face of the Western Christian world and Churches and Christian Schools are being targeted. Please pray for safety. (Source: Open Doors)

Tale note!

Stop Tax Dollars For Palestinian Murderers!

Earlier this week, I told you about the disgusting murders of five members of an Israeli family in Samaria. The parents and three children, including a three month-old baby girl, were brutally stabbed to death. Israeli police are currently holding two Palestinians as suspects for the vicious slayings.

Now this will make your blood boil: Cousins Ahmed Awad and Iyad Awad are officers in Palestinian security forces that are trained and funded with U.S. tax dollars! Unfortunately, this started under the Bush Administration, but it has gotten worse since Obama took office. It should stop immediately.

There is a lot of talk right now about cutting federal spending, and foreign aid in particular. Let's start by holding votes in the House and the Senate to cut off taxpayer dollars to these so-called Palestinian "security" forces. It is unconscionable that American taxpayers are training jihadist murderers. (Gary Bauer)

ABC's of Purim

Summing up the Purim holiday: They tried to kill us, we won, let's eat.

Purim is Judaism's most dramatic, fun-filled holiday. When else can you dress up like a bunny rabbit and eat doughy triangles filled with poppy seeds?

Purim occurs on the 14th of Adar. (In certain walled cities like Jerusalem, "Shushan Purim" is celebrated the following day, the 15th of Adar.)

Purim celebrates the dramatic turn-around events, where the wicked Haman tried to annihilate the Jewish people of ancient Persia. The Jews were saved through God's miraculous arranging of events, as expressed by the heroics of Mordechai and Esther. Read more.

School Reverses Course and Allows Students to Post Ten Commandments on Lockers

"I applaud the school officials for doing the right thing, and I am especially proud of the students. There is a crucial difference between government speech endorsing religion and student speech endorsing religion." -Mathew Staver

(Floyd County, VA)-Liberty Counsel applauds the decision of the Floyd County High School administration to allow students to display the Ten Commandments on the face of their lockers. Students originally posted the Ten Commandments on their lockers as a sign of solidarity with the students at nearby Giles County High School, where the district removed the Ten Commandments after threat of a lawsuit.

On February 23, Jacob Agee and other students who are members of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes posted copies of the Ten Commandments on their assigned lockers. Very quickly thereafter, Principal Barry Hollandsworth and Assistant Principal Tony Deibler removed each copy. Liberty Counsel then sent a letter to the Floyd County High School administration, requesting the reversal of their censorship of religious material posted by school students on the face of the students' lockers. Liberty Counsel gave school officials two weeks to reverse course or face a federal lawsuit. As a result, Floyd County High School officials did reverse course and will now allow students to display the Ten Commandments on their own lockers.

A tour of the school reveals a variety of student expressions of school spirit, support of activities, birthday well wishes, social causes, and so on. In this case, the school has opened up student lockers for student expression but was monitoring and censoring religious speech. To censor the Ten Commandments under these circumstances clearly violated the students' free speech.
Mathew Staver, Founder and Chairman of Liberty Counsel, stated, "We are very pleased that the students at Floyd County High School can post the Ten Commandments on their lockers. I applaud the school officials for doing the right thing, and I am especially proud of the students. There is a crucial difference between government speech endorsing religion and student speech endorsing religion. While a school could prohibit all stickers on student lockers, school officials cannot selectively discriminate against religious viewpoints, while allowing other secular viewpoints."
