Syria

With the vast amounts of news now being published regarding the air strikes in Syria, we simply list below key items for your prayerful consideration. As we pray in the Spirit over each item, we rest upon the promise of Romans 8:26.

- It is written: "We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans." (Romans 8:26) Amen.

1. Warship Ruse and New Stealth Missiles: How the U.S. and Allies Attacked Syria - Bloomberg

The U.S. guided-missile destroyer USS Winston Churchill churned toward the Mediterranean to join a flotilla of allied warships, including another U.S. destroyer, the USS Donald Cook.

It was a ruse.

While both vessels carry as many as 90 Tomahawk missiles -- the main weapon used in the Friday evening strike on Syria -- neither ship in the end fired a shot. Instead, according to a person familiar with White House war planning, they were part of a plan to distract Russia and its Syrian ally from an assault Assad's government could do little to defend itself against.

It worked. Pentagon officials on Saturday said they faced little resistance to their targeted attack on what they said were three Syrian chemical weapons facilities. Most of the Syrian countermeasures, including defensive ballistic missiles, were fired after U.S. and allied weapons hit their targets, Lieutenant General Kenneth McKenzie told reporters on Saturday.

"No Syrian weapon had any effect on anything we did," McKenzie said. He described the joint U.S., French and U.K. strike as "precise, overwhelming and effective." (Read more)

2. U.S. and allies warn Syria of more missile strikes if chemical attacks used again - Washington Post

Western allies warned Syria on Saturday that they could launch further attacks if chemical weapons are used again, even as Syria's powerful backer Russia denounced the missile strikes but gave no signs of possible retaliation.

The flurry of statements after Friday's coordinated strike of U.S. cruise missiles - along with launches from French and British forces - suggested a tense holding pattern.

The United States and its allies served notice to Bashar al-Assad's regime that there was Western resolve to halt any further chemical attacks against civilians. Russia, meanwhile, said it did not mobilize its air defenses in Syria but underscored the importance of its military foothold in Syria and its role as Assad's main protector. (Read more)

3. Despite strikes, Assad retains chemical capability, Pentagon admits - Times of Israel

Marine Lt. Gen. Kenneth F. McKenzie, director of the Joint Staff at the Pentagon, said the allied airstrikes "took out the heart" of Assad's chemical weapons arsenal. He said the missiles hit the "sweet spot," doing the expected level of damage while minimizing the unintentional release of toxic fumes that could be harmful to nearby civilians.

When pressed, he acknowledged that some unspecified portion of Assad's chemical arms infrastructure was not targeted.

"There is still a residual element of the Syrian program that is out there," McKenzie said, adding, "I'm not going to say they're going to be unable to continue to conduct a chemical attack in the future. I suspect, however they'll think long and hard about it." (Read more)

4. As U.N. Security Council meets on Syria, Haley accuses Russia of lies and coverups - Washington Post

Diplomats for the United States and Russia traded blame at a U.N. Security Council meeting Friday amid warnings that any U.S. strikes in response to a suspected chemical attack in Syria could lead to a larger regional and possibly global confrontation.

The U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley, accused Russia of lying and covering up for its ally, the government of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, which she said had used chemical weapons at least 50 times in the past seven years of warfare.

"Russia can complain all it wants about fake news, but no one is buying its lies and its coverups," she said of Syria's strongest ally. "Russia was supposed to guarantee Assad would not use chemical weapons, and Russia did the opposite."

Haley's Russian counterpart, Vassily Nebenzia, in turn accused the United States and its key allies France and Britain of bellicose rhetoric and saber-rattling that have heightened tensions. (Read more)

5. Syria, Russia say over 100 missiles fired, many intercepted - Times of Israel

The US and its allies fired more than 100 cruise missiles at Syria, a significant number of which were intercepted by Syrian air defenses, Russia and Syria said Saturday

"More than 100 cruise missiles and air-to-land missiles were fired by the US, Britain and France from the sea and air at Syrian military and civilian targets," the Russian defense ministry said in a statement quoted by RIA Novosti news agency, adding that "a significant number" were shot down by Syrian air defenses. Syria's air defenses "were made in the USSR more than 30 years ago," the ministry said. Russian air defenses based in Syria were not used, the ministry said.

Syria made similar claims. A Syrian military statement said the US, Britain and France fired 110 missiles during a joint attack on targets in Damascus and outside. (Read more)

6. Assad vows to 'crush' his enemies after night of US-led airstrikes - Times of Israel

Syrian President Bashar Assad on Saturday responded defiantly to overnight Western airstrikes, vowing that they would only make him more determined to crush his enemies.

"This aggression will only make Syria and its people more determined to keep fighting and crushing terrorism in every inch of the country," he said in comments published by his office.

Assad has denied ever using chemical weapons and regularly denounces his opponents as "terrorists." (Read more)

7. Iran said to allow Russia to deploy 'strategic aircraft' in its territory - Times of Israel

Amid the potential of military escalation in Syria between the US and Russia, Iran has allowed Moscow to station "strategic aircraft" in its territory, Lebanese television station Al Mayadeen reported Friday.

The report on the Hezbollah-affiliated channel did not provide further details on the type of planes or the reason for their deployment on Iranian soil.

The report was not confirmed by any official sources. (Read more)

8. Large explosion reported at Iranian base in Syria - Times of Israel

A large-scale explosion was reported late Saturday at an Iranian weapons depot in Syria, according to Arabic-language media.

The depot, said to be one of the biggest in the country, is located in Mount Azzan near Aleppo and was reportedly being used by Iran's Lebanese proxy Hezbollah and other Iranian militias in Syria.

Sky News reported that the explosion was likely caused by an aerial strike launched by an unidentified jet, and further said the area had previously been evacuated for fear of an American attack. (Read more)

9. Netanyahu Expresses Israel's 'Full Support' for US-Led Syrian Strike - United with Israel

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Saturday expressed Israel's "full support" for a US-led attack on sites connected to Syria's chemical weapons program.

"A year ago, I declared Israel's full support for President Trump's decision to take a stand against the use and spread of chemical weapons," Netanyahu said in a statement, referring to a previous US strike against a Syrian air base with a barrage of cruise missiles in April 2017, following a sarin gas attack by the Assad regime on Khan Sheikhoun that killed about 100 people and affected about 200 others.

"President Trump's resolve and Israel's support remain unchanged," Netanyahu underscored. (Read more)

10. Report: 4 more Syrian bases bombed; Iranian soldiers killed - World Israel News

Unidentified aircraft bombed Syrian military bases on Saturday night, leaving several Iranian soldiers dead.

According to reports by the Syrian media, an arms depot in Jabal Azzan in the Aleppo region, said to be one of the largest in the country, was attacked from the air, causing a massive explosion. Witnesses cited in the reports described loud explosions and flames seen from the base. Iranian soldiers were among the casualties in this attack, according to reports. (Read more)

3. Military braces for Palestinian 'firebomb campaign' on Gaza border - Israel Hayom

Thousands of Palestinians demonstrated along the Israel-Gaza Strip border on Friday for the third consecutive week, starting riots in four areas near the border fence and torching tires and burning Israeli flags.

Dozens of Palestinians attempted to breach the security fence in at least one spot, but were warded off by Israeli security forces. The Hamas terrorist group, which rules the Gaza Strip, has called on protesters to clash with Israeli troops.

About 20,000 Palestinians protested along the security fence last Friday, and about 30,000 Palestinians demonstrated there the previous week. On Thursday, Hamas said it was expecting about 25,000 demonstrators to arrive at the border this week.

Palestinian medical sources said at least six Palestinians were wounded in Friday's clashes.

4. Gabbay: Smotrich is the real prime minister - Israel National News

Zionist Union chairman Avi Gabbay on Sunday blasted the government for its plan to approve the Overrule Clause, which would allow the Knesset to re-enact laws that were previously rejected by the Supreme Court.

"There is no such thing as a Supreme Court with the Overrule Clause. It's an Israeli patent that does not hold water. I call on the prime minister to act like a prime minister. You were elected for this purpose. Stop blindly following Smotrich," Gabbay charged.

"Unfortunately, Smotrich, whose party just yesterday painted the judges of the Supreme Court as Hamas terrorists who fire missiles at Israel, is the real prime minister. He initiates, navigates and determines. All the extremist decisions begin with him, continue with Bennett who resonates with them, and end with Netanyahu following along, simply because he is afraid," he added.

Gabbay said that the Overrule Clause is a dangerous legislation that attempts to uproot the Supreme Court and leave the citizens alone to face the governmental tyranny and the injustice of the government.

5. Foreign delegates blocked from conference organized by Palestinian Authority in Ramallah - Jerusalem Online

This Wednesday, the 9th International Conference on the Holy City of Jerusalem began in Ramallah, but a number of delegates were notably absent from attendance. A number of those delegates have claimed that they were given entry permits but Israeli border officials revoked at the Allenby border crossing. As a result, many had to return to Amman. The conference in question was organized by the Palestinian Authority.

Specifically, Ras Mubarak, an MP from Ghana, claimed that he attempted to cross the border twice without being allowed to enter. 65 delegates were allegedly denied entry to attend the conference, but Israel's Ambassador to Ghana, Ami Mehl, responded directly to the allegations.

6. Judge convicted of colluding ahead of case - Israel National News

A Tel Aviv judge accused of coordinating her behavior for an upcoming hearing with an investigator in a case involving an associate of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has been convicted of improper behavior and ethics violations.

In February, it was revealed that Tel Aviv Magistrate Court Judge Ronit Poznansky-Katz had used the mobile phone chat service WhatsApp to discuss an upcoming hearing with an investigator from the Israel Securities Authority.

According to a report by Channel 10, Poznansky-Katz discussed the upcoming hearing with ISS investigator Eran Shaham-Shavit, and planned with Shaham-Shavit her actions for the hearing.

7. Arab leaders meet to unify ranks with eye on Iran, Jerusalem - Times of Israel

DHAHRAN, Saudi Arabia (AP) - Saudi Arabia used its perch as host of an annual gathering of Arab leaders on Sunday to push for a unified stance against rival Iran as the regional powerhouses vie for the upper hand in wars in Syria and Yemen.

Saudi King Salman told leaders from across the 22-member Arab League that Iran was to blame for instability and meddling in the region. He said Yemeni rebel Houthis, backed by Iran, had fired 116 missiles at the kingdom since Saudi Arabia went to war in Yemen three years ago to try and roll back Houthi gains there. The summit took place in the oil-rich eastern Saudi city of Dhahran, a location that may have been selected by the kingdom to avoid cross-border Houthi missile strikes that have targeted the capital, Riyadh, and southern border cities.

8. Honduran Lawmakers Vote to Move Embassy to Jerusalem - Breaking Israel News

Lawmakers in Honduras voted on Thursday to relocate the country's embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

"Israel congratulates the National Congress of Honduras for passing with an overwhelming majority a resolution in favor of opening an Embassy in Jerusalem," Israeli Foreign Ministry spokesman Emmanuel Nahshon said on Twitter.

Honduran lawmakers approved the measure 59-33, which now must be approved by the executive branch.

"A notice has been sent to the secretary of state in the Foreign Ministry who handles [Honduran] ties to the Israeli people, according to which Honduras should consider moving its embassy in Israel to Jerusalem from Tel Aviv," said National Congress First Secretary Jose Tomas Zambrano Molina. The Daily Brief

1. Ex-FBI deputy McCabe lied, was source of leak, Justice Dept. says - Washington Times

Ousted FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe improperly leaked information to a reporter and then lied to both his boss, then-Director James Comey, and to FBI agents investigating his behavior, the Justice Department inspector general said Friday. He was under oath when he lied to the FBI agents, the inspector general said in a lengthy new report that could prove devastating to Mr. McCabe's credibility, and to other ongoing investigations. "He LIED! LIED! LIED!" President Trump tweeted. "McCabe was totally controlled by Comey - McCabe is Comey!! No collusion, all made up by this den of thieves and lowlifes!" He called McCabe's actions "a total disaster."

The inspector general's report, which had been circulating inside the government for weeks, was used to justify Mr. McCabe's firing earlier this year, just days before he was to take retirement and collect his pension. The inspector general said Mr. McCabe authorized leaks to a Wall Street Journal reporter when he was trying to shape the narrative surrounding his role in the investigation into Hillary Clinton's secret emails. Investigators said the 2016 leak confirmed the existence of an investigation into the Clinton Foundation - a probe the FBI had studiously avoided confirming. The leak was inappropriate because it was done "to advance his personal interests," the audit found. "The OIG found that then-Deputy Director Andrew McCabe lacked candor, including under oath, on multiple occasions in connection with describing his role in connection with a disclosure to the WSJ, and that this conduct violated FBI Offense Codes 2.5 and 2.6," the audit concluded. (Read more)

- Lord God, we thank You for exposing McCabe's lies and misconduct and ask that You continue to expose ungodly deeds and actions in the FBI by others. God, let every high place of wickedness in the government be removed by the power of Your mighty hand. We ask and pray in the Name of Jesus.

- "The words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit: he has left off to be wise and do good." (Psalm 36:3)

2. How Comey Lied About Spying on Trump Tower - American Spectator

What Comey calls "higher loyalty" is just adherence to the interests of an unaccountable ruling class and the needs of his own ego. To understand the depth of Comey's leaking and lying, all you have to do is go back and look at his maneuvering in response to Trump's "wiretap" tweets. Those tweets turned out to be entirely accurate: The Obama administration was intercepting communications at Trump Tower, both during the campaign and the transition. Comey knew perfectly well that Trump was right - FBI agents had been sifting through the Trump Tower records of Carter Page and Paul Manafort - but he sent his team out to lie about Trump's tweets anyways.

He had a story placed in the New York Times shortly after Trump's tweets: "Comey Asks Justice Department to Reject Trump's Wiretapping Claim." It quoted Comey's leakers, "senior American officials," as saying that Trump's assertion was "false" and that the FBI director had asked the Justice Department to refute it. The Times wrote up his lie in its inimitably smearing style: Mr. Comey's request is a remarkable rebuke of a sitting president, putting the nation's top law enforcement official in the position of questioning Mr. Trump's truthfulness. The confrontation between the two is the most serious consequence of Mr. Trump's weekend Twitter outburst, and it underscores the dangers of what the president and his aides have unleashed by accusing the former president of a conspiracy to undermine Mr. Trump's young administration.

So here was an FBI director using the front page of a newspaper to libel a sitting president, all while a FISA warrant based on Hillary's campaign research, which gave Comey the power to reach into Trump Tower, sat on his desk. (Read more)

- Almighty God, bring down the works of the shadow government who is the unaccountable ruling class by the power of Your mighty hand. God, by the Blood of Jesus, bring down every person or groups of people, along with the Obama administration and Hillary Clinton, that have warred against President Trump from the beginning. We pray in the mighty Name of Jesus Christ.

- "Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace. But the transgressors shall be destroyed together: the end of the wicked shall be cut off." (Psalm 37:37-38)

3. Comey kept Trump in the dark on dossier's Democratic funding - Washington Times

Fired FBI Director James Comey has acknowledged that he never told Donald Trump that the dossier on which his bureau relied to investigate the president was financed by the Democratic Party and Hillary Clinton campaign. Promoting his book, "A Higher Loyalty," Mr. Comey talked to ABC News about his seminal moment with President-elect Trump at Trump Tower on Jan. 6, 2017. He informed Mr. Trump about the dossier's most salacious unproven charge - that in 2013 the future president entertained prostitutes in a Moscow hotel room. Mr. Comey presented the allegation to Mr. Trump as an intelligence report, keeping him in the dark about it being a piece of opposition research by ex-British spy Christoper Steele. Mr. Steele had told a Justice Department contact during the election that he was "desperate" to destroy the presidential candidate.

Mr. Comey also did not tell the president that the Democratic Party dossier had been used by the FBI to obtain a surveillance warrant on Trump volunteer Carter Page. Said a Congressional source involved in the Russia investigations: "The fact that Comey withheld from Trump the fact that the Steele dossier was opposition research funded by the DNC and the Hillary campaign is stunning, and Comey's excuse for not telling him is ludicrous. As everyone now knows, the FBI and DOJ also hid this information from the FISA court. This is a pattern of deception at the highest levels of our government, and it's absolutely indefensible." (Read more)

- O righteous Father in heaven, we ask that You redeem President Trump from destruction by the wickedness of those in government, both past and present. We pray that you will build a wall of protection around President Trump and all who are in his administration. Father God, cause his enemies to fall into the pit that they have dug in an attempt to destroy him. Dispatch angels to fight his battles. In the mighty Name of Jesus we pray, amen.

- "They also that seek after my life lay snares for me: and they that seek my hurt speak mischievous things, and imagine deceits all the day long. But in You, O Lord, do I hope: You will hear, O Lord my God." (Psalm 38:12,15)

4. Alan Dershowitz Predicts FBI Will Leak Privileged Information About President Trump - Daily Caller

Harvard Professor Alan Dershowitz thinks the FBI will leak any privileged information it obtained from the raid on President Donald Trump's attorney Michael Cohen. Dershowitz believes the government stepped over the line when they raided Cohen and said it would be naive to believe the FBI would keep the information confidential. "Even if the lawyer engaged in fraud, that doesn't justify seizing the client's secret information, which may not have been involved in fraud," Dershowitz said on Fox News' "America's Newsroom" Thursday.

"This should be a process where you can bring a judge or an objective monitor and before anything is seized, somebody looks through it and says, 'No, no, this is lawyer-client privilege. This is medical privilege. This is priest privilege.' You don't get that," he said. "But this way they seize everything and a government agent reads every one of the material that is also privileged," Dershowitz continued. "There is something very wrong with that. I don't think any American would really like that. And the ACLU has come out in support of this raid. The ACLU! They're supposed to be the organization that stands up for civil liberties. Now they're [special counsel Robert] Mueller fans. Now they're FBI Fans. They don't know the facts and out there supporting it. Shame on the ACLU," he concluded. "I used to be on its national board when it was actually a civil liberties organization. Not a political get Trump organization." (Read more)

- Lord God, we pray that You will rise up and defeat the future acts of the FBI levied against President Trump. Father in heaven, take the ACLU and all its members who support their evil agenda and bring them down by and through the Blood of Jesus. Let them be a thing of the past that is rarely remembered from this day forward. Lord, destroy any and all material that has been confiscated to be used against our president. We pray that the angels of war will fight for President Trump. We pray in the Name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, amen.

- "Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence: a fire shall devour before Him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about him. He shall call to the heavens from above, and to the earth, that He may judge His people." (Psalm 50:3-4)

5. Paul Ryan endorses Kevin McCarthy to be next House speaker - Fox News

House Speaker Paul Ryan on Friday endorsed House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy to succeed him as House speaker when Ryan steps down at the end of the year. The endorsement follows Ryan's announcement earlier this week that he would not be seeking re-election. "One of the reasons why I was comfortable making this decision is because we have a very capable leadership team," Ryan said. "I think we'll have a seamless transition."

On Wednesday, Ryan, R-Wis., announced that he would not be seeking re-election in November, a move that ends a nearly two-decade career in Congress. It also comes as the GOP girds for a tough fight to keep control of the House this year. The move also ignites the race to potentially succeed Ryan should Republicans hold the House in November. In addition to McCarthy, R-Calif., House Majority Whip Steve Scalise, R-La., has also been mentioned as a possible Ryan replacement. (Read more)

- Lord God in heaven, we pray that You will send reinforcements from heaven who will assist in the choosing of the replacement for Paul Ryan so that all transition will be directed by the Lord Himself. Give spiritual strength to the GOP to keep control of the House this year. We trust You, Lord, with the undertakings in our government. In the Name of Jesus we pray, amen.

- "A fire goes before the Lord, and burns up His enemies round about. His lightenings enlightened the world: the earth saw, and trembled." (Psalm 97:3-4)

6. Mike Pompeo isn't just qualified to be Secretary of State - he's ready - Washington Examiner

This week, CIA Director Mike Pompeo began his confirmation hearings to serve as the new secretary of state, one of the United States' most important Cabinet positions. In this role, he will be responsible for managing the Department of State and setting our nation's foreign policy as its top diplomat. As a West Point graduate, a Harvard-trained lawyer, a former member of Congress, and director of the CIA, Pompeo is more than qualified to lead the State Department. Throughout his distinguished career, Pompeo has empowered his staff to make decisions with efficiency and accountability. His experience in the private sector as an entrepreneur provided him with the skills necessary to manage and lead a department of dedicated professionals and global experts. Pompeo founded Thayer Aerospace, where he served as CEO for more than a decade before becoming president of Sentry International, an oilfield equipment manufacturing company.

During his four terms in Congress representing Kansas's 4th Congressional District, Pompeo served on the House Intelligence Committee and the Energy and Commerce Committee. His work on those committees, as well as his subsequent government service, made him privy to the nation's most closely held intelligence since 2010. Pompeo has been a vocal leader in addressing the security issues posed by Iran, North Korea, and Israel. He played a critical role in providing intelligence that shaped the administration's China policy and is intimately familiar with the delicate and classified issues that our country faces abroad. He is known for his experience, intelligence, and judgment. (Read more)

- Righteous Father in Heaven, we trust that You will protect Mike Pompeo with the Blood of Jesus and surround him with holy angels to go before him and pave as he prepares to serve as our next Secretary of State. May he be strong to pray and be faithful to walk with the Lord. We pray in the Name of Jesus, amen.

- "Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before you: and the Lord, who you seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom you delight in: behold, he shall come, says the Lord of hosts." (Malachi 3:1)

7. The swamp is draining (no, really) - Washington Examiner

After witnessing a dual Republican majority force a $1.3 trillion spending bill through Congress, it's easy to feel like conservatives are losing the war against the swamp. However, taxpayers can take comfort in knowing there will soon be less of them, according to recent job trends. The Washington Post recently made an announcement taxpayers thought they would never live to hear: The greater Washington area job market is slowing down. The greater Washington, D.C., region added only 43,800 jobs from January 2017 to January 2018. Compare that to 2016, when the greater D.C. area averaged 60,000 new jobs every month. You read that right. The labor force in the nation's capital is growing annually at a rate slower than it used to grow monthly.

The State Department and the Environmental Protection Agency took the hardest hits, collectively eliminating 6,600 jobs over the past year. Economist Stephen Fuller explained the slowing regional job market to the Washington Post: "What has happened is we weren't growing as fast as we thought we were . . . The bread-and-butter sectors of the local economy are now flat or declining during the second half of last year." The "bread and butter" Fuller is referring to are the unelected, unchecked sectors of the economy dedicated to spending other people's money. The federal government didn't create $21 trillion in national debt overnight, and it won't disappear overnight either. We have a long road ahead of us to reign in spending and restore constitutionally-limited government. The cadre of fiscal conservatives in the House and Senate dedicated to draining the swamp is growing. The Beltway machine built to manipulate government and appropriate money and power only to the wealthy and well-connected is shrinking. (Read more)

- Righteous Father, You see the major changes in the job market in D.C. and trust that the Holy Spirit of God will pull the laces together and tighten the strings so that the waste of money will diminish steadily and quickly. May the guiding hand of the Lord be over every transaction and decision so that all will improve daily through God's guidance. We pray in the Name of Jesus and for His glory, amen.

- "And I will give unto you the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever you shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever you shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven." (Matthew 16:19)

8. Haslam signs bill stripping TennCare funding from Planned Parenthood of Tennessee - Times Free Press Republican Gov. Bill Haslam has quietly signed into law a controversial bill that seeks to strip all TennCare funding from Planned Parenthood of Tennessee. "The governor ... deferred to the will of the legislature on this bill as amended, and after reviewing the bill in its final form decided to sign the bill into law," Haslam press secretary Jennifer Donnals said of the governor's action on Monday. The new law, passed last month by the Republican-led General Assembly, requires the state to seek a waiver of federal Medicaid rules in order to let Tennessee eliminate all funds going to nonprofit groups providing medical services that include elective abortions. It's targeted at Planned Parenthood.

On Tuesday, Americans United for Life President and CEO Catherine Glenn Foster praised both Haslam and lawmakers for the new law, which the group says was based on its model legislation seeking to restrict funding for abortion providers nationwide. "Based on AUL's Defunding the Abortion Industry and Advancing Women's Health Act, this legislation prioritizes the funding of comprehensive healthcare facilities that can help women address a broad array of health issues that Planned Parenthood and other abortion providers are not equipped to handle," she said in a statement. (Read more)

- Father, we pray elected officials across this nation will have the courage to defund Planned Parenthood and all other abortion providers. Help our people understand the truth about these organizations and the harm they do to women and their unborn children.

- Be strong and courageous; do not be afraid nor dismayed before the king of Assyria, nor before all the multitude that is with him; for there are more with us than with him. (2 Chronicles 32:7)

9. 'They Refuse to Be Held Accountable': Pro-Life Leader Sounds Alarm on Facebook & Hate Speech - CBN News

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerburg may believe that regulation of the social media industry is "inevitable" but that may or may not solve what many faith leaders and conservatives know happens regularly: their content is blocked. Free speech advocate Nicole Neily, the president of Speech First, says she'd like to see Facebook be more open about its censorship. "It would be one thing if Facebook is transparent but they pretend to be 'we're open to all comers,' " she told CBN News. Neily says government regulation could have the unintended consequence of stifling social media competition, making it harder for other social media networks to emerge. Zuckerberg alluded to that Wednesday as well, noting that new companies could struggle with extensive government regulations. "That might be more difficult for a smaller startup to comply with," he said.

Kristan Hawkins, the president of Students for Life of America (SFLA) said she doesn't believe that government should tell private businesses how to operate. She's calling for more consumer education about viewpoint discrimination on social media networks like Facebook and Twitter. "We can definitely raise awareness that there's a double standard," she said. Hawkins argues that it's actually in Facebook's best interest to welcome all viewpoints. "If they want to grow their base, have more consumers, make more dollars--they have to be accommodating to speech that they may be opposed to, that they don't like," she said. Zuckerberg says that Facebook has 15,000 to 20,000 people devoted to security and content review. (Read more)

- Father God, we thank You that Nicole Neily has spoken out on this vital topic, releasing a warning to all. We ask that You keep her protected under the shelter of Your wing, and that her message will make an impact where it counts. In Your name, amen.

- "For thus hath the Lord said unto me, Go, set a watchman, let him declare what he seeth." (Isaiah 21:6)

10. Antifa And The SPLC Successfully Shut Down Four Anti-Islam Conferences - Daily Caller

Antifa groups used information from the Southern Poverty Law Center to successfully shut down four conferences on the threat of Islam scheduled in Wisconsin and Minnesota last weekend. The hotels slated for the events were flooded with threatening calls, and the organizers voluntarily canceled one of the events following numerous warnings that it would not be safe. A fifth conference in Des Moines, Iowa carried on in defiance, despite leftists showing up to disrupt the proceedings. The conferences were hosted by Worldview Weekend, a conservative Christian organization that produces radio and TV shows and sponsors events nationwide. The SPLC posted the locations for these venues, after which Antifa groups urged their members through social media to attend events and swamp the venues with threatening calls and messages.

Shahram Hadian, a former Muslim and now Christian apologist who heads the Truth In Love project, was slated to speak at a number of the canceled events. He reacted strongly in a video about the cancellations posted on Saturday: "Who shut us down folks? The Islamo-Marxist-Fascist oppressors in this nation, the same groups that we've been traveling around this nation warning you about . . . How did that happen? It started with CAIR . . . the front group for the Muslim Brotherhood. Then they've joined with the Southern Poverty Law Center . . . Then they got Antifa involved . . . and we know their M.O. - they're domestic terrorists . . . If you think we are living in a free nation any more . . . that this is the land of the free and home of the brave, we better wake up soon. 11. Dozens of Megachurch Pastors Meet With Mike Pence, White House Staff During Retreat - Christian Post

Dozens of Southern Baptist megachurch pastors and their wives met with Vice President Mike Pence and senior White House officials on Wednesday to cap off the annual Southern Baptist Convention MegaMetro retreat. Organized by former SBC President and Arkansas pastor Ronnie Floyd, as many as 68 megachurch pastors and 65 of their wives traveled to the nation's capital on Monday to partake in the annual invite-only retreat, which was attended only by pastors with Sunday church attendance of 2,000-plus. During the 3-day conference, discussion was devoted "to talking church." While Floyd led the pastors through various panels and interviews touching on how to "reach people for Christ," Floyd's wife, Jeana, led separate discussions for the pastors' wives.

The conference concluded on Wednesday with as many as 116 of the pastors and their wives visiting the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, located next to the White House, to participate in a 90-minute White House senior staff briefing. The group also received a "surprise" 20-minute visit from Pence. "Once again, I was reminded that the president, vice president and their administration are totally committed to the biblical issues we deeply care about - the sanctity of life, the family, the support of Israel, religious freedom, and securing a strong nation under God," Texas pastor Jack Graham told CP. - O Holy God: we thank You from our hearts for assembling these pastors and their wives together to bring a unified togetherness in our country. May this vision go all across the United States and bring us back to the Cross to acknowledge the price Jesus paid for the redemption of souls and forgiveness of sin. Strengthen this vision and send a spirit of repentance all across our land as millions are drawn to God in salvation of their souls. In the Name of Jesus we pray.

- "While Peter yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear him." (Matthew 17:5)

April 23 forecast for end of the world

There are several professed Christians who keep making predictions about when the earth will end. Some try to use prophecy and scripture to make the predictions. Some take a circuitous and convoluted route of meticulous explanations involving page upon page of "evidence" that is so difficult to understand that one begins to think the writer is under the influence. Others try to look at the sky and make their predictions. David Meade, a so-called Christian conspiracy theorist, predicted the world would end in March. That didn't happen so he is revising his prediction to April. This time, he is using the round-peg alignment of certain constellations to pound into a Biblical prophecy square-hole.

The UK Daily Express reports that Meade is now predicting the end of the world and the rapture to occur on April 23. According to the Express, Meade is using Revelation 12:1-2 as the basis for his forecast, "And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars: And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered." Meade says, "During this time frame, on April 23, 2018 the moon appears under the feet of the Constellation Virgo. The Sun appears to precisely clothe Virgo . . . Jupiter is birthed on April 08, 2018."

Meade continues, "The 12 stars at that date include the nine stars of Leo, and the three planetary alignments of Mercury, Venus and Mars - which combine to make a count of 12 stars on the head of Virgo. Thus the constellations Virgo, Leo and Serpens-Ophiuchus represent a unique once-in-a-century sign exactly as depicted in the 12th chapter of Revelation. This is our time marker." Christ said in Matthew 24:4, "Take heed that no man deceive you." He then went on to chronologically explain what would happen at the end of the world, warning that there shall arise false prophets that, if possible, shall deceive the very elect.

The Apostle Paul paints a similar picture in 2 Thessalonians 2, "Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition . . . so that he as God sits in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God." This is very clear: 1) don't be deceived, 2) falling away, 3) antichrist (beast) revealed, 4) sits in the temple as God. Daniel 9, of which Christ speaks, is similar: 1) Antichrist appears, 2) covenant confirmed, 3) temple sacrifice ceases, 4) overspreading of abominations, 5) temple made desolate by antichrist. The world will not end on April 23rd. There is much prophecy to occur before that happens. Read and study the scriptures for yourself and ask the Holy Spirit for understanding. Don't be deceived by the ear-ticklers.

About the Deep State . . .

About the Deep State . . .

A Commentary by Sara Ballenger, President
Capitol Hill Prayer Partners

Dear Friends,

In the 24 years we have been publishing these alerts, I have never ventured to share anything with you that I have heard from our Lord, but today, I am going to make an exception . . .

You see, on Saturday evening, as I began working on this Brief and putting all of its various pieces together, I was also quietly thinking about . . . the Deep State.

It seems that, no matter where we turn these days, in viewing the news or having discussions with our friends, the Deep State is "always there" . . . kind of "lurking" behind the bushes, if you will.

So, that night, as I was quietly thinking about the Deep State, I was surprised when suddenly I heard, from our Lord, these words:
"I AM THE DEEPER STATE!"
WOW! I think I even jumped in my chair -- I was so startled to hear the Holy Spirit "break through" with that understanding: He IS deeper, and He IS "holding all things together in His hands."
I immediately recalled His promise as it is written in Isaiah 33:22 --

"For the Lord is our judge, The Lord is our lawgiver, The Lord is our king; He will save us-"

YES! I thought! He WILL save us!

PART TWO!

But apparently, Abba had more to say because just this morning, as I opened the Word, He spoke:

"Tell My people: I am THE DEEPEST STATE, TOO!"
Indeed! There is NONE GREATER THAN OUR GOD!
"There is none like Thee, O LORD; Thou art great, and great is Thy name in might." (Jeremiah 10:6)
And so . . . "they" are the "deep state," but . . .

Our GOD is the DEEPER STATE - holding all under His control

And, He is the DEEPEST STATE - the ROCK upon which we dwell . . . the ROCK of our Salvation!

So, HALLELUJAH!

I trust that these thoughts will encourage you as much as they have me, because He did say to "TELL MY PEOPLE!"

Thanks for passing this on . . . Even in these "perilous times," His Kingdom Government still rules and reigns over all the affairs of men!

Thanks for letting me share!

Praise the Lord!

Holocaust Remembrance Day

Last Week: Israel Observed Yom-Hashoah:

Holocaust Remembrance Day

At sundown on Thursday, April 12th, Israel ushered in Yom HaShoah, Holocaust Remembrance Day. The day marks 24 hours dedicated to remembering those who were wrenched away by a fanatic regime determined to exterminate every trace of Jewish life from the face of the earth.

More than 70 years ago, the Nazis and their collaborators set about their mission with fervent zeal and meticulous efficiency. Within a decade, European Jewry had all but disappeared. Collected from urban and rural homes, they were swept into the yawning voids of concentration camps, crematoriums and mass graves. Six million Jews were murdered. Millions more emerged from a living hell to find every shred of their previous lives erased.
The figures are staggering; the timeframe in which they were tallied up ridiculously short. But more than anything, the Holocaust brings with it an overwhelming sense of loss. It is a gaping hole where an entire generation of mothers, fathers, siblings, families and friends should have been. So, as the sun set over the Jewish homeland last night, Israel mourned a generation of loved ones who were lost.

On the eve of Yom HaShoah, sorrow and reverence wrap like a blanket around the hearts of Israel. A hush descends over the usually vibrant city streets as movie theaters, bars and restaurants lock up early. Flags hang half-mast. Israeli radio and television stations take a break from their customary entertainment offerings to make way for shows and songs that help keep the memory alive.

Then, at 9:50 a.m. on Thursday, all activity in Israel ground to a halt. The throng of cars speeding along the main highways slowed to a crawl. One by one, they pulled over to the side of the road. Car doors opened and drivers poured out to stand waiting on now- deserted lanes. On every street in every city, from houses and schools and office buildings, Israelis stood to mourn those they lost.

Those who stood in the silent vigil are those who survived. Many are the children and grandchildren of Holocaust survivors. This has been the tradition in Israel for some 60 years: to stop, to stand, to look up or out at what has been built, while remembering those who were destroyed.

The air raid siren screamed at exactly 10:00 a.m. For two minutes time stopped as all of Israel mourned the shrill horror of their history. It is a loss that resonates in the heart of every Jew because every Jew has been touched by the terrible past in some way.

But the legacy of 6 million murdered, the inheritance left by this lost generation, is not death or defeat. The legacy passed on to those who survived, to those who came after and lived, is life. It is a legacy of life infused with resolve, fierce joy and grim determination. Woven into the very fabric of Israel today is the knowledge that the Holocaust was one episode-one horrific episode-in a series of similar events. The Nazis were not the first to attempt to wipe out Jews from the face of the earth. Moreover, judging from repeated calls by the likes of Iran, Hamas, Hezbollah and the Islamic State and rising tides of European anti-Semitism, sentiments like those that drove the Nazis are anything but gone.

That is where the motto, "Never Again", comes from. It is a pledge pouring from the heart of every Israeli, uttered with resolve and grim determination.

- Lift up the entire Jewish population across the globe as their hearts are torn with sad memories and they face the brutal history that still has an impact on their lives today. Give thanks to the Lord that in the wake of anti-Semitism, they can embrace God's goodness, celebrate life and enjoy a bright future in their own homeland, Israel.

And your life will be brighter than the noonday; its darkness will be like the morning. And you will feel secure, because there is hope; you will look around and take your rest in security. (Job 11:17-18)

Today's News: Part Three of #Truth Matters:

Step #3: Confess

"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. ~ 1 John 1:9

Dear Christian Warriors:

There are 4 KEY STEPS to eternal Salvation, as outlined in scripture:

REPENT of your sins
BELIEVE that Jesus Christ has died to atone for your sins and has resurrected from the dead
CONFESS your sins and
WITNESS (or WALK), bearing fruits of the Holy Spirit, fruits worthy of repentance.

The word "confess" [homologos] has the connotation of an ongoing public utterance of one's faith in Christ. The Holy Spirit calls us to be His Ambassadors. You and I are called to speak publicly on His behalf -even in the face of persecution--to save the souls of many. The task is not left to major evangelists only, but to you and me.
Paul, in Ephesians 6: 18-20, says: ". . . praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints, and for me, that UTTERANCE may be given to me, that I may open my mouth BOLDLY to make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an AMBASSADOR in chains; that in it I may speak BOLDLY, as I OUGHT TO SPEAK." [emphasis added]
Paul could have remained silent and improved his situation. Instead he chose to confess Him publicly; to speak boldly of the good news of Jesus Christ the Messiah.

In His presence daily live.

All to Thee, my blessèd Savior,
I surrender all.

All to Jesus I surrender;
Humbly at His feet I bow,
Worldly pleasures all forsaken;

All to Jesus, I surrender;
Make me, Savior, wholly Thine;
Let me feel the Holy Spirit,
Truly know that Thou art mine.

Storm Blasts Central US With Snow, Ice and Wind, Killing 3

Flights Canceled, Roads Treacherous Amid Spring Snowstorms

A storm system stretching from the Gulf Coast to the Great Lakes has buffeted the central U.S. with heavy snow, tornadoes, rain and hail, forcing flight cancellations, creating treacherous road conditions and killing at least three people, including a sleeping 2-year-old Louisiana girl.

In the Upper Midwest, all flights were grounded most of Saturday at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport as heavy snow made it difficult to keep runways clear and planes deiced. Nearly 470 flights were canceled before crews were able to open one runway shortly after 10 p.m., according to a spokesman. Blizzard conditions also forced the airport in South Dakota's biggest city, Sioux Falls, to remain closed for a second straight day.

The Minnesota Twins home game against the Chicago White Sox was snowed out Saturday, marking the first back-to-back postponements of baseball games in the stadium's nine seasons. Sunday's game was also called off because of the storm, which by Saturday night had buried Minneapolis under more than 13 inches of snow (33 centimeters). The Yankees and Tigers were rained out Saturday in Detroit.

Authorities closed several highways in southwestern Minnesota, where no travel was advised, and driving conditions were difficult across the southern half of the state. The National Weather Service predicted that a large swath of southern Minnesota, including Minneapolis and St. Paul, could get up to 20 inches of snow (51 centimeters) by the time the storm blows through on Sunday. The Good News Corner

Israeli Flag Flies on the Temple Mount for the First Time in 50 Years, Thanks to Chinese Christians

There is currently an ongoing petition by World Likud, a global extension of the Likud political party in Israel, and the French Zionist organization, Israel is Forever, requesting the right to fly the Israeli flag on the Temple Mount.

The last time the Israeli flag flew on the Temple Mount was for a very brief time after the IDF conquered the site in the 1967 Six Day War, but on Wednesday, a group of Chinese Christian tourists posed with a flag on the steps leading up to the Dome of the Rock.
On Wednesday, Stand With Us, a non-profit pro-Israel education and advocacy organization based in Los Angeles posted the photo on their Facebook page, saying:

Yosef Rabin writes, "An Israeli Flag has not flown on the Temple Mount since the 1967 War. Today Chinese tourists brought an Israeli Flag up to the Temple Mount. I am not sure how they got the flag past security and how the Waqf [Jordanian Islamic security that controls the Temple Mount] or police did not notice, but this sets a massive precedent-I hope.
