2. Israel, Palestinians battle for votes over Jerusalem resolution at UNESCO - Jerusalem Post

Israel is battling to prevent a public-relations victory for the Palestinians at the UNESCO Executive Board in Paris, which is expected to disavow Israeli sovereignty over Jerusalem on Independence Day.

Such a vote would provide Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas a boost when he meets with US President Donald Trump at the White House just one day later.

Among the points of contention between the two leaders is Trump's pre-election promise to relocate the US Embassy to Jerusalem and the presumption that Trump is not opposed to Jewish building in Jerusalem over the pre- 1967 lines.

The United States, one of the 58 UNESCO Executive Board members, is expected to oppose the resolution. The Palestinians have an automatic majority on the board, but the PA and Israel are battling for the support of the 11 EU member states. Their votes have come to represent a "moral" political victory. (Read more)

3. UNESCO to fire another volley at Israel - on Independence Day - Times of Israel

The United Nations' cultural agency is set to pass a resolution on Tuesday - Israel's 69th Independence Day - that indicates rejection of the Jewish state's sovereignty in any part of Jerusalem. The resolution also harshly criticizes the government for various construction projects in Jerusalem's Old City and at holy sites in Hebron, and calls for an end to Israel's blockade of Gaza without mentioning attacks from the Hamas-run Strip.

Submitted to UNESCO's Executive Board by Algeria, Egypt, Lebanon, Morocco, Oman, Qatar and Sudan, the resolution on "Occupied Palestine" will most likely pass, given the automatic anti-Israel majority in the 58-member body. Its wording as of Monday was slightly less harsh on Jerusalem than previous resolutions, in that it does affirm the importance of the city to the "three monotheistic religions." (Read more)

4. Netanyahu to Abbas: How can you speak of peace while financing murderers? - Jerusalem Post

At a ceremony honoring victims of terror attacks Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu took aim at Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, Monday afternoon.

"President Abbas, how can you speak of peace with Israel while financing murderers," Netanyahu asked, referencing the fact that the Palestinian Authority provides stipends to terrorists and their families. (Read more)

5. Hamas softens stance on Israel, drops Muslim Brotherhood link - Reuters

The Palestinian Islamist group Hamas on Monday dropped its longstanding call for Israel's destruction, but said it still rejected the country's right to exist and backs "armed struggle" against it.

In a policy document presented in Doha by its leader Khaled Meshaal, Hamas also said it would end its association with the Muslim Brotherhood, a move apparently aimed at improving ties with Gulf Arab states and Egypt, which view the Brotherhood as a terrorist group.

Israel responded to the announcement by accusing Hamas of trying to "fool the world", while the group's main Palestinian political rival, the Fatah faction of President Mahmoud Abbas, also reacted coolly to the policy shift. (Read more)

6. Netanyahu: "Our Lives Depend on the Willingness of Our Sons and Daughters to Sacrifice Themselves" - Breaking Israel News

At formal ceremonies, private gatherings and quiet visits to military cemeteries around the country, more than a million Israelis paused this Monday to remember 23,544 IDF soldiers who died during their military service. Since last Yom Hazikaron (Memorial Day), a total of 60 soldiers died and 37 disabled veterans succumbed to their war injuries and were recognized as fallen soldiers.

Israelis also remember 4,128 people who were murdered in terror attacks from the beginning of the Zionist project in the Land of Israel and until the present time. Among those, a total of 100 Israelis were murdered outside of Israel and another 122 were foreign citizens on Israeli soil. A total of 11 citizens died from terror assaults since last year, the latest being Hanna Bladon, a British student who was stabbed to death during an attack in the Jerusalem Light Rail about two weeks ago. 7. Rothschild Foundation Investing $27 Million in Caesarea's Hidden Treasures [PHOTOS] - Breaking Israel News

An unprecedented renewal project that will upgrade Israel's tourism product and enhance the glorious past and future of Caesarea was announced at a Wednesday press conference of the Edmond de Rothschild Foundation, Caesarea Development Corporation, Israel Antiquities Authority and Israel Nature and Parks Authority.

Among the archaeological discoveries that have been exposed and can now be visited by the public is the altar of a temple built by King Herod some 2,000 years ago in honor of Emperor Augustus and the goddess Roma, mentioned in the writings of Josephus Flavius - alongside the synagogue of Caesarea.

Please note:
Every prayer below is presented to our Lord in the Name of Jesus Christ, amen.

1. What's in the spending agreement? We read it so you don't have to. - Washington Post

Lawmakers reached an agreement late Sunday on a broad spending package to fund the federal government through the end of the fiscal year in September, ending weeks of uncertainty. The House and Senate are expected to vote on the package early this week. The bipartisan agreement includes $12.5 billion in new military spending and $1.5 billion more for border security, a major priority for Republican leaders in Congress.

So, what's in the agreement? We've sifted through the legislation, consulted supporting documents from Democratic and Republican aides, and called out some of the more notable and controversial elements below.

___Father, it appears that Planned Parenthood is still on the Federal payroll in this agreement. Though there are a few places where abortions are specifically banned, PP will still received Federal monies. We pray that You will intervene to stop all monies from this organization that murders millions of unborn children every year.

_"Evil shall slay the wicked, and those who hate the righteous shall be condemned." (Psalm 34:21)

2. 'Minutemen' 2017: Civilian army floated to guard U.S. border- WND

A new report from the Center for Immigration Studies concludes that a border wall is not the only thing missing from an effective border-security policy.

The Washington, D.C.-based think tank says the U.S. Border Patrol is in desperate need of more boots on the ground along the nearly 2,000 miles of border with Mexico. And that's a need that can only be filled by forming a civilian auxiliary along the lines of the Coast Guard Auxiliary or the Civil Air Patrol, the civilian auxiliary of the Air Force.

President Trump has acknowledged the need for more manpower, calling for the hiring of 5,000 additional agents. But that is a costly endeavor that could take years to fulfill. As reported recently by investigative reporter Sharyl Attkisson, the last time the U.S. Border Patrol went on a hiring binge, in 2006-2008, it dropped the ball on screening the applicants and a large number of drug dealers and other bad guys infiltrated the ranks.

___Father, we don't know what the best solution is to the border crisis, but we do know that we need more manpower to stop the flow of illegal immigrants. We ask that only a plan that comes from You be implemented.

3. Sebastian Gorka leaving White House as soon as 'this summer'- The Hill

A senior White House official confirmed to The Hill on Sunday that Sebastian Gorka, a deputy assistant to the president, will be departing that role as soon as "this summer."

The same official said that Gorka, 46, was brought in to the Trump administration to initially provide big picture, counter-terrorism expertise.

"To defeat extreme Islamic terrorism, you can't kill your way out of the problem. A plan is needed to defeat the ideology the same way Nazism was defeated" the official, who asked not to be named, said.

"[Gorka] was here to provide an overall strategy in that regard."

Gorka will take an outside position that deals with the "war of ideas" regarding radical Islamic extremism, sources told The Washington Examiner on Sunday.

He has served as both a national security adviser and on the Strategic Initiatives Group, which is an organization within the White House, according to the publication.

___Lord, as another controversial person leaves the White House, we ask that You bring people who have Your great wisdom to bear on the problem of Islamic terrorism.

4. The FBI translator who went rogue and married an ISIS terrorist -CNN

An FBI translator with a top-secret security clearance traveled to Syria in 2014 and married a key ISIS operative she had been assigned to investigate, CNN has learned.

The rogue employee, Daniela Greene, lied to the FBI about where she was going and warned her new husband he was under investigation, according to federal court records.

Greene's saga, which has never been publicized, exposes an embarrassing breach of national security at the FBI - an agency that has made its mission rooting out ISIS sympathizers across the country.

It also raises questions about whether Greene received favorable treatment from Justice Department prosecutors who charged her with a relatively minor offense, then asked a judge to give her a reduced sentence in exchange for her cooperation, the details of which remain shrouded in court-ordered secrecy.

_Lord, this shocking news makes us wonder how many other government officials have fallen into the trap laid by radical Islamic terrorists. We ask that You move across all government agencies, bringing repentance and heart change, showing them the truth, and especially in the heart of this former FBI agent.

_"And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were seated." (Acts 2:2)

5. Report: Measles Outbreak in Minnesota Somali Community Imported by Traveler from Foreign Country- Breitbart

The measles outbreak within Minnesota's Somali community continues to spread to more parts of the state. "Officials . . . believe it was imported by a traveler from a foreign country, since measles no longer occurs naturally in the United States," the Star Tribune

reports. Late Friday, the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) announced that the total number of cases has now grown to 32, and "28 of the cases are Somali Minnesotan."

The MDH has not yet announced the demographic characteristics of the other four cases that have been diagnosed as part of the outbreak. The geographic reach of the outbreak has now extended from Hennepin County, part of the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area-where it originated and where 30 of the cases have now been confirmed-to Stearns County, 65 miles northwest of Minneapolis-St. Paul, where one case was confirmed early last week, and now to Ramsey County, where one case was confirmed on Friday. "31 of the cases are confirmed to be unvaccinated and 1 of the cases had 1 MMR," MDH said late Friday.

"The cases are children ages 0 through 5 years," MDH added.

___Lord, we stand against this outbreak of measles and declare, "This far and no further shall you go." We bind up this disease and command it to disperse in Jesus' Mighty Name.

6. Knife-wielding student slashes 4 at University of Texas, kills 1 - USA Today

A student with a hunting knife slashed one person to death and injured three others Monday at the University of Texas, causing a brief stir of terror on campus before the man was tackled by police.

The suspect was identified by police as Kendrex J. White, 21. A motive for the attack is unknown.

Student Rachel Prichett said she was standing in line at a food truck outside a gym when she saw a man with a knife resembling a machete approach the person standing behind her.

"The guy was standing next to me," Prichett said. "He grabbed him by the shoulder and shoved the knife in it. I just started running as fast as I could."

Police said they believe the victims in the 1:46 p.m. attack are all around ages 20 or 21. There is no ongoing threat to the campus community, the university said.

_Lord, some reports today are calling this man a Muslim. Regardless whether that is the case, we pray for the victims and their families. May the students and staff of the University turn to You for comfort and peace in the midst of turmoil.

7. San Diego pool shooting: Killer called his ex during rampage, police say- Fox News

The killer who opened fire at a pool party in San Diego called his ex-girlfriend during his rampage so she could hear the panic and chaos that he was causing, police revealed Monday, giving new details about the gunman's state of mind.

Peter Selis, 49, shot seven people, killing one woman, police said. Officers shot and killed Selis after he fired at a police sergeant, according to investigators. Another man suffered a broken arm while running from the chaos.

The gunman had broken up with his girlfriend days earlier, Police Chief Shelley Zimmerman said at a news conference Monday. She said relatives were aware that he was "depressed" -- but had no idea he'd completely snap.

Selis was sitting on a lounge chair at the pool when he called his ex and told her he'd shot two people, and that police had just arrived. He apparently wanted her to keep listening as he kept firing, Zimmerman added.

_Lord, as the news broke today of all the killing across America, we can't help but think that the hearts of Americans have been rapidly turning against You - that no conscience appears to be in operation. We ask on bended knee for You to save us, to save the nation.

-"This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners." (1 Timothy 1:15)

8. Dallas shootings: Gunman found dead, paramedic and police officer among the wounded- Fox News

The man suspected in shootings that wounded at least three people in Dallas, including a paramedic and a police officer, was found dead Monday in a home nearby, the mayor confirmed, ending the manhunt that gripped a neighborhood in the eastern part of the city for hours.

Police sent a robot into the home where they found the bodies of two men, including the man believed to have fired the shots, investigators said. They added that the gunfire apparently stemmed from some kind of dispute with the shooter's neighbor.

Emergency responders rushed to the scene late Monday morning to treat a civilian who was shot when the gunman approached and opened fire at the first-responders, police added.

The paramedic, described as a firefighter in initial reports, was out of surgery, in critical but stable condition at Baylor University Medical Center, city officials said. Both the paramedic and civilian were in the intensive care unit.

__Father, these men and women who put their lives on the line for us every day need Your Power and protection. We pray that You will visit this paramedic, and we thank You that he is alive. We pray that there will be no major after effects, and that You will heal him quickly. We also ask for Your wings to shelter all of our emergency crews from harm.

_"I will say of the Lord, 'He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, In Him I will trust.'" (Psalm 91:2)

9. Hacker stole more than $100 million from Google and Facebook - New York Post

The world wide web can be a pretty hectic place if you're careless. Things like malware, ransomware, and phishing are part of our daily internet experience. As long as you know what they mean and how to protect yourself against them, you shouldn't be affected. But one wrong step and hackers can walk away with some of your cash or access to your private data. Even if you're Google or Facebook. And it turns out a hacker scammed these internet giants out of over $100 million.

Last month, the US Department of Justice indicted a Lithuanian man for "orchestrating a fraudulent business email compromise scheme that induced two U.S.-based internet companies," CNET reports.

___Father, we pray that all of Your people would be protected against such wicked schemes. We ask that You cover the work of the Gospel on the internet with Your Hand, and continue to use it mightily for Your Kingdom.

_"And the Gospel must first be preached to all the nations." (Mark 13:10)

10. Iran satellite TV head shot dead in Istanbul- Jerusalem Post

The head of an Iranian satellite television network channel who last year was sentenced in absentia to six years in prison by a Tehran court was shot dead in Istanbul together with a business partner, Turkey's Dogan news agency said on Sunday.

GEM TV founder Saeed Karimian and another Iranian were driving in Istanbul's Maslak neighborhood after 8 p.m. (1700 GMT) on Saturday when their car was stopped by a jeep and shots were fired, Dogan said.

Karimian was found dead by emergency services arriving at the scene, Dogan said. His associate was taken to hospital but could not be revived. It was not clear if there were multiple shooters. The jeep was later found abandoned and burned. Istanbul police declined to comment on the shooting when contacted by Reuters.

May Day protests and the counterrevolution

Last May, there was a curious news photo attached to a story about how radical anarchist rioters were violently protesting an appearance by Republican primary presidential candidate Donald Trump. The photo was of a little Latino boy holding a sign that read, "Make America Mexico Again." This take off of Trump's campaign slogan, "Make America Great Again" spoke a thousand words. The George Soros MoveOn.org-sponsored communists, also supported by La Raza, Black Lives Matter, Communist Party USA and other radical anti-American groups, are using free speech to trample on the free speech of legitimate citizens who support a traditional and law-abiding ideal of America. They are at it again today.

May 1 traditionally has been declared International Workers Day. It's a day when labor unions, communists, socialists and anarchists gather together to show their "solidarity" for the working man, or woman, or gender de jour. The Democratic Party and the ex- "president" support these organizations. This year, in particular, there are mass angry protests across the country scheduled to make the world know that anyone who opposes this anti-American line of thought is, well, anti-American...in addition to bigots, Nazis, fascists, hate-mongers, racists, misogynists, homophobes, Islamophobes-Have I missed anybody? These protesters are all part of the communist plan to takeover America, whether they know it or not.

The protesters come wrapped in hate and destruction against Trump for his strong stance against illegal immigration. Last year, the Los Angeles Times quoted, Luis Serrano, an organizer with California Immigration Youth Justice Alliance, saying, "We're going to keep showing up and standing against the actions and the hate Donald Trump is creating. We are going to continue to just show up in numbers and stand together." So it is now "hateful" to enforce the law, but it was fine when a "president" allowed free medical, social services, and protected status to those with their minds set on overthrowing the government. The only ones creating hate here are those who are protesting--minions and pawns of the greater communist cause.

Crisis creates opportunities for greater governmental control, suspending civil rights in the name of security, the loss of a free nation. It becomes a vicious circle. The answer is the gospel-truly it is. Christians are orderly, God fearing and law abiding by virtue of the commandments we strive to live by. We need to do a better job in evangelizing and making disciples. Our form of government works when the moral and ethical are holding accountability. Romans 13:12 says, "The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light." We are in a fight for our preservation as a people and a nation. We need to change hearts to win it. It is our counterrevolution.

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

Congress, really?

President Donald Trump is not only fighting the radical and extreme left at every juncture of his presidency, he is fighting his own party, which controls congress. Case in point is the Congressional budget, which doesn't fund the border security expansion, does fund Planned Parenthood, and pushes the government to spending a trillion dollars. What gives? No wonder the radical left is rejoicing with the Republican budget. No wonder that Congress has one of the lowest public approval ratings in history. Does anyone in leadership there have any sense? Americans voted for less government, not increased government. The federal government doesn't need to be so big and irresponsible with our tax dollars.

Speaker Paul Ryan should be ashamed. Here he is running in his district on fiscal conservatism, yet he is advancing a big government, leftist and, quite frankly immoral, budget. There is no way that Planned Parenthood should receive one dollar of taxpayers' money. It is an abortion machine that ends the lives of hundreds of thousands of unborn each year. How can Paul Ryan or any other self-respecting elected leader justify the use of tax dollars to fund this organization of death? Draining the swamp should start right there in congress where the swamp creatures say one thing in their districts at home and do another once they get to the seat of power.

The Washington Post reports that Democrats believe they have set the stage to block Trump's agenda for years to come because Ryan and his henchmen worked with them on major concessions. In short, the Republicans are being out-played, out-smarted, and out-witted by their big government socialist Democrat rivals. The Post writes: "Democrats' lopsided victory on the five month deal, which is likely to be approved this week, means it will be very difficult, if not impossible, for the GOP to exert its will in future budget negotiations, including when it comes to Trump's 2018 budget blueprint." The Post blames conservative members of Congress who wouldn't budge, forcing Ryan to work with the Democrats to avoid a government shutdown if a budget is not passed.

So the big-spending Democrats got their Christmas list filled and more with the Ryan cave-in. Trump will get the blame. And the very thing that Americans wanted out of the last election gets drowned in the rising swamp. See how difficult changing from radicalism to pragmatism is? Democratic Senator Chuck Schumer said that his party had a strategy and it worked because Democrats and Republicans in Congress were closer to one another than Republicans were to Trump. Wow. Romans 16:18 says, "For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple." When you have a Congress full of people who are drunk on power and grafted to a political system, there is plenty of room for deception and destructive shenanigans.

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!
