1. Israel wont allow Iran, Hezbollah on Syrian border, Rivlin tells Putin - Times of Israel

Israel will not allow Iran and Hezbollah to establish a foothold on the Syrian side of the Golan Heights, President Reuven Rivlin told his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin Wednesday night at a meeting in Moscow.

According to Channel 2 news, the Israeli head of state conveyed the message from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that the presence of such Israeli enemies along the chaotic Syrian border was a red line for the Jewish state.

Haaretz reported that Rivlin also told Putin Israel was interested in United Nations peacekeepers resuming their mission along the border between the nations, which was largely abandoned as the Syrian civil war spiraled out of control.

2. Shin Bet: Several Palestinian terrorists had applied for Israeli residency - Times of Israel

Several Palestinians who carried out terror attacks had recently received - or were in the process of applying for - residency status in Israel, the Shin Bet security service said on Wednesday.

Under Israeli law, West Bank Palestinians who have family members in Israel can apply for residency status, in a process known as family reunification.

"The family reunification process, which is based in humanitarian concerns, allows Palestinians with relatives who are residents of Israel to enter [the country] without incident," the Shin Bet said.

4. Say hello to 'Carlo,' the cheap, lethal go-to gun for terrorists - Times of Israel

After the knife, one of the most notable symbols to emerge from six months of Palestinian attacks in Israel and the West Bank has been the "Carlo," otherwise known as the Carl Gustav submachine gun.

The homemade or craft-produced rudimentary automatic weapon has been used in the majority of shooting attacks on Israeli civilians and security personnel. It's not accurate and it has a limited range, but it's cheap and more than powerful enough to cause mayhem and death - and it's nearly impossible to prevent its production.

These improvised guns were used last Wednesday in a shooting attack on a public bus and in the ensuing firefight with police, which left one civilian seriously injured; they were used a day earlier in a drive-by shooting that left two police officers seriously wounded; and they were used to kill 19-year-old Border Police officer Hadar Cohen last month. All of these attacks took place in or near Jerusalem's Old City.

5. Rivlin lobbies Putin for help in redeploying UN peacekeepers on Golan -Jerusalem Post

Russian President Vladimir Putin told visiting President Reuven Rivlin on Wednesday he had agreed to meet Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu soon to discuss the security situation in the Middle East.

The two leaders met in Moscow and an Israeli official, who declined to be named, said Rivlin had "asked that Russia work to restore UNDOF as part of any long-term arrangement in Syria," referring to a United Nations peacekeeping force.

Personnel from UNDOF, which monitors the Israeli-Syrian frontier on the Golan Heights, have come under fire and even been kidnapped by militants fighting the forces of Syrian President Bashar Assad, prompting peacekeeping contingents from some participating nations to withdraw from the force.

1. John Kerry: ISIS responsible for genocide - CNN

Secretary of State John Kerry said Thursday that the United States has determined that ISIS' action against the Yazidis and other minority groups in Iraq and Syria constitutes genocide.

"My purpose here today is to assert in my judgment, (ISIS) is responsible for genocide against groups in areas under its control including Yazidis, Christians and Shiite Muslims," he said, during a news conference at the State Department.

Kerry said that in 2014, ISIS trapped Yazidis, killed them, enslaved thousands of Yazidi women and girls, "selling them at auction, raping them at will and destroying the communities in which they had lived for countless generations," executed Christians "solely for their faith" and also "forced Christian women and girls into slavery."

"Without our intervention, it is clear that those people would have been slaughtered," he said. (Read more)

- Father, finally! We thank you for this legal recognition, even though it will do little to relieve the suffering of our brothers and sisters. We pray that You will move mightily in their behalf.

- "Oh, that You would slay the wicked, O God! Depart from me, therefore, you bloodthirsty men."(Psalm 139:19)

2. Kurds are planning a breakaway region in Syria, and it won't go down well -Washington Post

Could a solution to Syria's woes be a dramatic decentralization of power? On Wednesday, Kurdish groups in Syria argued just that, proposing a plan under which the country's largely Kurdish north would become its own region - a model that could eventually be applied to the entire nation, supporters of the plan say.

Saleh Muslim, head of the People's Democratic Party (PYD), which is leading the push for a new region, said in the Iraqi Kurdish city of Sulaymaniyah that no decision had been reached on its precise format or a name.

"The name is not important," he said, speaking on the sidelines of a forum in the Iraqi city on the future of the region. "Call it federalism. Call it autonomous." It is impossible, however, for Syria to "go back to the old Syria," Muslim added. "It is something to be changed," he said. (Read more)

- Father, we know that the Kurds have a region in Iraq, but it is unlikely that Assad with cede power to them in Syria. We ask that You move to bring life across that embattled nation, removing the false gods and bringing Your Holy Spirit to change the people.

- "I will seek what was lost, and bring back what was driven away, bind up the broken and strengthen what was sick; but I will destroy the fat and the strong, and feed them in judgment." (Ezekiel 34:16)

3. Air Force faces shortage of drone and jet pilots - CNN

A top Air Force general warned Wednesday that the U.S. faces a shortage of hundreds of fighter pilots and drone operators.

In Capitol Hill testimony, Gen. Herbert "Hawk" Carlisle said that the Air Force needed 511 fighter jet pilots and approximately 200 more drone pilots in order to adequately carry out current missions.

Citing an "insatiable demand" among combatant commanders for drones that can provide intelligence and surveillance, Carlisle said that drone operators were facing long hours and that in order to alleviate this issue the Air Force is seeking close to 300 additional drone pilots, making the true shortfall closer to 500. - Lord, all branches of our military are struggling under budget cuts that are harming training, maintenance of aircraft, equipment . . . we pray that Your wisdom will come through to protect our nation from foolish decisions made by government leadership.

4. General Says Army At High Risk In War Against China, Russia - AP

The Army's top general says military forces on the ground face a high level of risk if the United States gets into a large-scale conflict against a power such as Russia or China.

Testifying Wednesday on Capitol Hill, Army Chief of Staff Gen. Mark Milley says years of combat in Iraq and Afghanistan, constrained budgets and troop cuts have had a cumulative effect on the service.

Milley says the Army is ready to fight the Islamic State group and other terrorist organizations. (Read more)

- Lord, as above, we once again see the devastating results of these drastic budget cuts in our military. If our nation is thrust into war with China or Russia, we seem to be in peril. Father God, we cry out to You, the God of Angel of Armies, for strength in this hour of need. Please move on the hearts of our members in Congress to increase military spending, that our nation might be strong once again. We ask this prayer in Your grace and in Your name, amen.

- Father God, we sing this as a praise to You!

5. Argentina: Navy sinks Chinese boat fishing illegally - Yahoo News

Argentina's navy announced Tuesday that it used gunfire to sink a boat Chinese-flagged boat that was fishing illegally in national waters.

China's government said it expressed its serious concern to Argentina and called for an investigation The navy statement said the boat was intercepted Monday off the coast of Puerto Madryn, about 907 miles (1,460 kilometers) south of Buenos Aires. Sailors then shot holes in different parts of the fishing boat, causing it to sink, the navy said. (Read more)

- Father, we don't know the full ramifications of this yet, so we ask that You help both sides be calm. We pray for a move of Your Spirit in both nations, bringing light and truth to them.

- "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom." (Proverbs 9:10)

6. Fox News cancels GOP primary debate - Fox News

Fox News announced Wednesday that the network has canceled the Republican presidential primary debate scheduled for Monday in Salt Lake City, after first Donald Trump and then John Kasich said they would not attend.

Michael Clemente, executive vice president of news, said in a statement:

"On Feb. 20, the Republican National Committee announced that a GOP presidential primary debate would be held on March 21 in Salt Lake City. They offered that debate to Fox News Channel to host, provided there were enough candidates actively campaigning. This morning, Donald Trump announced he would not be participating in the debate. Shortly afterward, John Kasich's campaign announced that without Trump at the debate, Kasich would not participate. Ted Cruz has expressed a willingness to debate Trump or Kasich -- or both. But obviously, there needs to be more than one participant. So the Salt Lake City debate is cancelled." (Read more)

- Lord, we pray Your will and purpose over this Presidential election- that the rhetoric will calm down, and truth we reign over the process, regardless of whether there are any more debates.

- "A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger." (Proverbs 15:1)

7. John Boehner Withdraws 2016 Support for Paul Ryan, Backs John Kasich Until First Vote - Breitbart

Former House Speaker John Boehner has taken a step back from his promise on Wednesday morning to back House Speaker Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) for the GOP's 2016 nomination . . .

Establishment GOP leaders are hoping to defeat Donald Trump's drive for the nomination, and hope to vote through an establishment-friendly replacement, such as Kasich or Ryan - if Trump is not backed by a majority of the delegates on the first ballot at the July convention in Cleveland.

On Tuesday, Kasich won his home-state primary in Ohio, giving him a platform to run for the nomination. On Wednesday morning, at an event in Florida, Boehner declared his support for Ryan. "If we don't have a nominee who can win on the first ballot, I'm for none of the above," Boehner said. "They all had a chance to win. None of them won. So I'm for none of the above. I'm for Paul Ryan to be our nominee." (Read more)

- Father, we ask that You prevent a "brokered" convention that would create upheaval and fury if someone is chosen that has no delegates. Mercy, Father, we cry out for mercy and wisdom over America!

- "But You, O God the Lord, deal with me for Your Name's sake; because Your mercy is good, deliver me." (Psalm 109:21)

8. Rubio HQ evacuated after substance found in mail - News4Jax

Marco Rubio's aides were evacuated to the roof of their Washington headquarters Tuesday after a powdery substance was found in a piece of mail addressed to the campaign.

A Hazmat team came and evacuated the campaign's offices and sent employees from the ninth-floor of their nine-story building to the roof, according to a Rubio aide.

As of late Tuesday afternoon, fire crews were wrapping up and the staffers were being allowed to return to the office.

Earlier this month, Hazmat and local authorities were called to Ted Cruz's campaign headquarters in Houston after their office received a letter accompanied by a white substance, the campaign said at the time. Authorities said it was not toxic. (Read more)

- Lord, though Rubio dropped out of the race the day this occurred, he and Cruz have both been targeted. We pray for the safety of all the candidates, and especially for the ones that are left in the race, and ask that they call upon You for help.

- "He shall call upon Me and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble."
(Psalm 91:15a)

9. Operator of cash-for-prayers site agrees to repay nearly $8 million - Fox News

A Seattle man running a so-called Christian prayer website and other businesses will return millions of dollars to consumers nationwide who paid for prayers, the Washington state attorney general said.

As part of an agreement, Benjamin Rogovy will pay back as much as $7.75 million to approximately 165,000 customers who were victims of Rogovy's deceptive business practices in several companies he ran, Attorney General Bob Ferguson said Wednesday.

Rogovy used systematic deception in his operation of the Christian Prayer Center, creating fake religious leaders and posting false testimonials on its website to entice people to pay from $9 to $35 for prayers, Ferguson said. The attorney general says Rogovy collected over $7 million from consumers between 2011 and 2015 and that his actions violate the state Consumer Protection Act. (Read more)

- Lord we pray that Your people would have better discernment than to have to pay for prayers. Prayer is free, Father, and is one of the great privileges of knowing You. May Your Spirit touch the lives of all of these people, especially the perpetrators of this act.

- "Whoever offers praise glorifies Me; and to him who orders his conduct aright I will show the salvation of God." (Psalm 50:23)

Passive Christianity threatens a free society

Recent headlines are indicative of a society gone awry. Breitbart reports that "A so-called "antifascist" group that supports illegal immigration is planning a rally against GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump this Saturday in New York City, the same day that a Black Lives Matter affiliated group that also supports illegal immigration is planning a rally in Phoenix, Arizona." This is supported by the "president's" policies. This is also supported by communist billionaire George Soros. This is using free speech to organize against fee speech. These anarchists are trying to paint those who do not share their values as "fascists" when, in reality, they are the fascists. Using their freedom, they threaten free society.

The immoral and amoral are trying to place a death grip on our free society. Christians must stand otherwise freedom will cease to exist. "Freedom sees in religion the companion of its struggles and its triumphs, the cradle of its infancy, the divine source of its rights. It considers religion as the safeguard of mores; and mores as the guarantee of laws and the pledge of its own duration."--these are the words of Alexis de Tocqueville, a French aristocrat who came to America in the 1830s to observe what made the country so great. His "Democracy in America" is considered a historic treasure about the unique success of the United States. Tocqueville wrote that America is free because of its collective Christian religion.

He pointed out that the laws that governed the Plymouth colony were derived from the Hebrew texts. In the later 1600s, even the law of Connecticut stated that man shall not "have or worship any other God, but the Lord God." He said that Americans "have succeeded in incorporating somehow into one another and combining marvelously...the spirit of religion and the spirit of freedom." According to the laws and the nature of early Americans, men and women who have the religious and political beliefs of most of our current leadership would have been forbidden to serve in such capacity, if not tried and convicted as criminal for their immorality and corruption.

Cotton Mather wrote in 1820, "There is a liberty of corrupt nature, which is affected both by men and beasts, to do what they list; and this liberty is inconsistent with authority, impatient of all restraint; by this liberty we are all inferior; 'tis the grand enemy of truth and peace, and all the ordinances of God are bent against it. But there is a civil, a moral, a federal liberty, which is the proper end and object of authority; it is a liberty for that only which is just and good; for this liberty you are to stand with the hazard of your very lives." Galatians 5:1 says, "Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ has made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage." As Christians we must demand and accept no other form of liberty.

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

An Urgent Message

A Critically Important Biblical Message Regarding the Upcoming Elections

Dear Praying Friends,

This is a very important message for those who lead the national prayer movement.

Dr. Michael Brown, in his recent Charisma Magazine column, asks "Is Donald Trump a Modern-Day Cyrus?" (See his article HERE). He goes on, "or is he a Nebuchadnezzar?"

Brown wrote this because there is a need. Prophecies are circulating in the prayer movement that Donald Trump has been called by God to be a modern-day Cyrus. I recall prophecies about Bill Clinton and Barack Obama being great presidents - one said Clinton would be the best President since George Washington. Such prophecies appear in every Presidential Election cycle. Fortunately for those who make such declarations, we are not living under the Old Testament law, in which prophets who missed the mark were stoned (though reality is the good prophets got stoned and the false prophets praised). But in the New Testament era, everyone can prophecy one, by one, but the hearers are commanded to judge the prophecies. Those who spread misguided prophecies may be well-intended. But how do such prophecies influence the voting behavior of spiritually immature believers?

Whether Trump is elected or not, I pray that he will have a conversion experience, and be used for righteousness.

In the meantime, every Christian has a mandate from God to vote biblically. Christians must be faithful to Scripture, and always seek to obey God's Word.

Announcing: The Kingdom Prayer Watch

Every Friday: 1:15 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
117 2nd Street NE, Lower Level
Washington, D.C. 20002

" . . . and the government shall rest upon His Shoulder!" (Isaiah 9:6)

Most of our own ministry work here in Washington, D.C. is done quietly, without calling attention to ourselves. But today, we are going to make an exception to this tradition by "opening the door wide" and welcoming all of our Prayer Partners to join us every Friday through November, to pray for our national elections.

In this intense election season, Abba is calling His people to enter into a time of intensive prayer for our nation. Every week from now through the end of November, God's people will join in prayer to cry out to Him, in repentance, that His hand of blessing will rest upon us in this election year.
All are welcome to come join us in this time of travailing intercession as we lift up prayers for:

- the presidential race.
- the Congressional races (all 435 seats are "up for grabs")
- The Senate seats that are also being decided upon

Using resource materials from Intercessors for America, the National Day of Prayer, the National Prayer Committee, and others, we will unite and lift up prayer for each of our 50 states, as well as the presidential election. We will not pray for or against any one candidate, but we will unite in "Kingdom prayers" for God's will to be done in and through this election.
In addition, tomorrow will be a very special time as we dedicate this work to our Lord and as we take time to lay a foundation of this work by offering REPENTANCE unto our Lord for our personal and our national sins. Pastor Jeff Daly, the President of the National Day of Repentance will be calling us from his office on the West Coast to offer a prayer of blessing over this work.

We REJOICE knowing that, it is written:

"The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ; and He will reign forever and ever." (Revelation 11:15)
And we REJOICE, too, knowing that it is written:
" . . .the LORD is our judge,
The LORD is our lawgiver,
The LORD is our king;
He will save us."
(Isaiah 33:22)

MARCHING TO ZION

"Arise ye, and let us go up to Zion." (Jeremiah 31:6)

Lyrics

Come, we that love the Lord, And let our joys be known; Join in a song with sweet accord, Join in a song with sweet accord And thus surround the throne, And thus surround the throne.

Refrain

We're marching to Zion,
Beautiful, beautiful Zion;
We're marching upward to Zion,
The beautiful city of God.

The sorrows of the mind Be banished from the place; Religion never was designed Religion never was designed, To make our pleasures less, To make our pleasures less.

Refrain

Let those refuse to sing, Who never knew our God; But favorites of the heavenly King, But favorites of the heavenly King May speak their joys abroad, May speak their joys abroad.

Refrain

The God that rules on high, And thunders when He please, Who rides upon the stormy sky, Who rides upon the stormy sky, And manages the seas, And manages the seas.

Refrain

This awful God is ours, Our Father and our Love; He will send down his heav'nly powers, He will send down his heav'nly powers, To carry us above, To carry us above.

Refrain

. . . The hill of Zion yields A thousand sacred sweets Before we reach the heav'nly fields, Before we reach the heav'nly fields, Or walk the golden streets, Or walk the golden streets.

Signs and Wonders

Up to 13 Million Americans Are at Risk of Being Washed Away

Tyrrell County sits just inland from North Carolina's Outer Banks barrier islands. With 3,600 people living and farming along 400 square miles, it's an ecologically rich enclave. It also ranks number one among 319 U.S. coastal counties facing long-term risk from rising seas. By 2100, according to a new study, 94 percent of Tyrrell's future population may be at risk from encroaching seawater.

The swelling ocean may threaten the homes of up to 13.1 million coast-dwelling Americans by the end of this century, according to the study published today in the journal Nature Climate Change. Led by Mathew Hauer, a doctoral candidate at the University of Georgia, the research is novel because it combines population projections with sea-level rise projections.

Tyrrell County leads the country only by percentage of its population at risk. The largest absolute numbers of people at risk are in Miami-Dade and Broward counties, in Florida. These two areas would make up 25 percent of all people impacted nationally-or more than 3.5 million-if waters rise by six feet, which is the most extreme scenario the study's authors anticipated. That threat has made the southern Florida climate story the center of much attention in recent years. More than 100,000 people could be displaced in each of 31 counties in the six-foot rise scenario.

But it's in Tyrrell, and neighboring Hyde and Dare counties, where you can squint and see the future of the American climate change debate, which may turn on questions of economic influence as much as environmental risk. (Read more)

The Good News Corner

Religious liberty bill passes Georgia state legislature

A religious freedom bill described by opponents as being discriminatory against same-sex couples passed the Georgia state legislature on Wednesday night in an 11th hour vote ahead of the session's close. The legislation, dubbed the Religious Liberty Bill, still has to be signed by Georgia's Republican Governor Nathan Deal to become law. Deal has made clear that he will not sign a bill that allows discrimination, but his office did not immediately respond to request for comment on Wednesday night.

Similar bills in states like Indiana and Arkansas sparked storms of criticism last year, forcing many lawmakers to retreat from the provisions.

The Georgia bill, reworked several times by lawmakers amid criticism that earlier versions went too far, declares that no pastor can be forced to perform a same-sex wedding. [Reuters] (Read more)

- Father we ask that You find a way to pass this legislation to assist Your people in being protected against the onslaught of LGBT proponents. Freedom of religion is part of the foundation of our nation, but we have not protected that freedom and are paying for it now. Have mercy and grant us repentance, Lord.

- "Have mercy upon me, O God, according to Your lovingkindness." (Psalm 51:1)
