1. UN Security Council condemns killing of Spanish peacekeeper -Times of Israel

UNITED NATIONS (AP) - The UN Security Council on Wednesday condemned "in the strongest terms" last week's killing of a Spanish peacekeeper in southern Lebanon.

Wednesday's statement comes a week after Cpl. Francisco Javier Soria Toledo was killed during the Israeli military's exchange of fire with the Hezbollah in a disputed border area.

Spain's UN ambassador quickly blamed Israel, and a UN diplomat has said Israel apologized through several sources, including an apology from its ambassador in Madrid to Spain's foreign minister.

The violence along Lebanon's border, which also killed two Israeli soldiers, was the deadliest escalation on the disputed frontier since the 2006 war between Hezbollah and Israel.

Israel's ambassador quickly pointed out that the council statement didn't mention the Israeli soldiers or condemn Hezbollah. "The Security Council seems to think that some lives have more value than others," Ron Prosor said in an emailed statement.

2. UAE funnels funds to Gaza through Abbas rival, miffing PA -Times of Israel

Mohammed Dahlan, Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud's Abbas's main political rival, has been working together with Hamas to funnel funds from the United Arab Emirates to the families of Palestinians hurt or killed during the war in Gaza last summer, The Times of Israel has learned.

This photo above, snapped in the UAE recently and obtained by the Times of Israel, shows Dahlan and two fellow Fatah members, decades-old arch-enemies of Hamas who were deported from Gaza, standing alongside senior members of Hamas and Islamic Jihad. Beside them is a UAE prince, Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed.

Among those present are Hamas leaders Salah Bardawil, Jamal Abu Hashem, Ruhi Mushtaha, the Islamic Jihad's Khaled al-Batsh, as well Majid Abu Shimala and Ashraf Juma, both close acquaintances of Dahlan from Fatah.

This picture is not coincidental. For months, Dahlan's men have been working alongside members of Hamas and Islamic Jihad, transferring aid to needy families and, as a result of the summer conflict, also to the families of those wounded and killed. Naturally, that includes Hamas members as well.

3. Amid rash of road deaths, dangers abound on Tel Aviv-Jerusalem highway -Times of Israel

Urgent construction work on the main Jerusalem to Tel Aviv highway, one of the country's busiest and most dangerous roads, has ground to a halt in recent weeks because one of the contractors has gone into receivership. Some of the affected sections that were in mid-repair and upgrade are now disintegrating, exacerbating dangers.

Major construction on the highway was originally scheduled to be completed in 2017, but that date will apparently not now be met, and the current halt to work leaves drivers in potential peril, experts say. The Transportation Ministry said it expected work to resume on the affected section in the coming days.

Traffic accidents are a major cause of death in Israel - overtaking even wars and terror. On Tuesday, eight women from the Bedouin town of Hura were killed and dozens more injured when their bus collided with a tractor that was being carried by a truck on a southern highway. Some officials blamed the highway infrastructure for that crash.

6. Netanyahu: ISIS burns people alive, Iran hangs them in city squares -Jerusalem Post

Israel's leaders sent condolences to Jordan on Wednesday following Islamic State's brutal murder of captive Jordanian pilot Lt. Mouath al-Kasaesbeh, with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu drawing parallels between Islamic State and Iran.

Netanyahu, during a visit to the Hermon Brigade base on the Golan Heights with Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon, said he wanted to send his condolences to King Abdullah II and the Jordanian people for the "grisly murder" of the pilot.

"In the Islamic State of ISIS, they burn people alive; in the Islamic State of Tehran, they hang them from cranes in the public squares," he said. "Both are motivated by an extreme ideology of militant Islamic terrorism that has a cruelty that is unbounded."

But, the prime minister added, "the greatest danger to the future and the security of the world is that this extremism will be backed up by nuclear weapons. This is something everyone must oppose."

Netanyahu said he went to the base with Ya'alon to "view the IDF preparations against the new front, terror front, that Iran is seeking to establish here in the Golan Heights."

Your Cheapened American Citizenship

The president met with six young illegal aliens who would have been deported under the law save for his unilateral executive action to bypass the law and allow them to remain in the United States. He told reporters that he thinks it is wrong to deport these illegals and that he would veto any legislation that would prevent them from remaining in the country, saying "And I'm confident that I can uphold that veto." Meanwhile, Senate Republicans suffered another defeat by not gaining a large enough majority to send a bill to the White House that would say no to the "president's" breaking of the law. They had 53 votes when 60 are needed by Senate rules. Your citizenship is cheapened.

The president made the case that these young people must stay in the country because they are just like every other American. He said, "The House of Representatives recently passed a bill that would have these six young people deported. I think thats wrong. I think most Americans would think it was wrong if they had a chance to meet with these young people. Legislation is going to be going to the Senate that again attempts to try to block these executive actions. I want to be as clear as possible. I will veto any legislation that got to my desk that took away the chance of these young people who grew up here and who are prepared to contribute to this country, that would prevent them from doing so."

While these so-called "DREAMers" may be very similar to the "president," whose birth on American soil by American parents has been questioned repeatedly, and he was raised in Islamic cultures by communist parents, step-parents and grandparents, these illegals and the "president" are not "like every other American." Americans born and raised in this country did not break the law to get here, and they are not breaking the laws to remain here. The president said, "And so often in this immigration debate it's an abstraction and we don't really think about the human consequences of our positions." How ironic that he considers breaking the laws for what he thinks is right has no human consequences.

The Bible is very clear about sojourners. It says not to vex strangers and to treat them hospitably. But it also says in Exodus 12:49, "One law shall be to him that is homeborn, and unto the stranger that sojourns among you." This is repeated in Leviticus 24, and Numbers 9. It is the basic concept of all law, and the foundational principle of the laws of free societies. Article II Section 3 of the US Constitution requires the President to "take care that the laws be faithfully executed." This "president" has acted above the law and refuses to accept the laws of Congress. Your citizenship is cheapened. Proverbs 28:4 says, "They that forsake the law praise the wicked." I guess we know where we stand.

'Students Asking Christ into Their Hearts with Tears in Their Eyes'-An Extraordinary Revival is Happening in L.A. and Orange County High Schools

"It was nuts. I've never seen anything like this before in my life. It was just amazing to see so many people responding to Jesus."

(Southern California)-Overcome by the darkness, this young Grant High School student decided she would end her life at the end of the school day. But instead, she went to an on-campus Christian club and heard Brian Barcelona share with about 150 other students.

After a stirring message, "she came running up to the front. She was weeping. She asked Brian to pray for her. She was going to commit suicide that day, but instead she found God," says Allan Giglio, a coordinator for One Voice, which is seeing extraordinary revival in Los Angeles and Orange County high schools.

About 2,500 students at 15 high schools hear the Gospel each week through campus Christian clubs, which invite One Voice representatives to speak, Giglio says. Kids have been saved from drugs, violence, sexual sin, and hopelessness.

The move of God began in Roosevelt High School two years ago. A watershed moment came when opposing gangs put down their weapons and met each other in the gym for prayer, along with 400 other students who had gathered to hear a heartfelt and compelling message.

Giglio says the Holy Spirit came into the room and the kids just broke down weeping.

Roosevelt teacher Samuel Alba acts as a teacher advisor for the Christian club. Both his father and grandfather ministered in Mexico and the U.S., where they saw extraordinary things happen. But he has seen nothing like the current outpouring of the Spirit.

"This is a whole new thing," Alba says. "This is something extremely new to the students. Many days you see kids with tears asking Christ to come into their hearts."
