21 Days of Prayer and Fasting:

DAY EIGHT

"And the light of Israel will become a fire and his Holy One a flame, And it will burn and devour his thorns and his briars in a single day." (Is. 10:17)

The Daily Brief

1. Top general: 'Islamists embedded in White House?' - WND

In the wake of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, or ISIS, beheading 21 Coptic Christians in Libya, retired U.S. Air Force Gen. Tom McInerney is slamming the Obama administration for failing to take obvious military steps to destroy the terrorists and identify radical Islam as the motivating factor for the atrocities committed throughout the region.

"I think the air campaign is not nearly the intensity we needed," McInerney said. "It's not even an air campaign. It's somewhere between seven and 15 sorties a day when we absolutely need upward of 100-200 sorties a day. I'm calling for 200. We need to be attacking the ISIS capital of Raqqa (Syria) 24/7. We need to close the highway between Raqqa and Mosul, Iraq." He said those steps would quickly tighten the noose around ISIS.

"Nothing can move on that highway," he said. "If it's moving, we'll destroy it. We'll kill their commerce. We'll kill their ability to feed people in their 'Islamic State.' That's going to require between 100-200 sorties a day, plus we're going to need constant surveillance reconnaissance assets over the area." (Read more)

- Abba Father this article addresses so many evils. Bottom-line: this President is lukewarm about fighting ISIS. He has no passion for fighting this war. The Jordanian king aggressively attacks ISIS after the immolation of the Jordanian pilot. Al-Sissi is passionate about attacking ISIS in Libya after the execution of the Egyptian Coptic Christians who died with Your name on their lips. We cry out to You for Your mercy. We ask for Your protection against ISIS because the leader of our nation won't take a stand. We ask that you would be a wall of fire around our Marines stationed at the Al Asad military base in Anbar Province of Iraq. We ask that You would send angels to guard them and warn them of ISIS attacks, and that You would receive all the glory. We ask for a miracle. Change Obama's heart and mindset. In His Name we pray, Amen.

- "A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you; and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh." (Ezekiel 36:26)

2. ISIS picks up on Obama's Prayer Breakfast Crusades Meme - Canada Free Press

From Obama's lips at Washington's National Prayer Breakfast straight to the Islamic State in Syria and Iraq (ISIS). Just one week and a half after President Barack Obama linked the Crusades and Inquisition with "many terrible deeds done in the name of Christ" at the National Prayer Breakfast, ISIS has picked up and run with his meme.

A horrific ISIS video showing the mass beheading of 21 Christians condemns the faith's believers as "crusaders". Words, even when uttered from White House National Prayer Breakfasts, have meaning, as do the drift of encouraging messages that can be picked up even a world away.

"All crusaders: safety for you will be only wishes, especially if you are fighting us all together," a man on the video says with a North American English accent. "The sea you have hidden Sheikh Osama Bin Laden's body in, we swear to Allah we will mix it with your blood." (Breitbart, Feb. 15, 2015) (Read more)

- Abba Father, You teach in Your Word that words have consequences. We humbly ask that You teach Obama the consequences of his words. In His Name we pray, Amen.

- "Thou art snared with thewords of thy mouth, Thou art taken with the words of thy mouth." (Proverbs 6:2)

3. Pelosi headed to Cuba with delegation of Democrats - Washington Examiner

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi is headed to Cuba with an all-Democrat congressional delegation, her aides announced Tuesday. According to her aides, Pelosi and the lawmakers will arrive some time Tuesday to become "the first official House of Representatives delegation trip" since Obama moved to normalize relations with Cuba.

Eight lawmakers are traveling with Pelosi, including Reps. Eliot Engel, of New York, who is the top Democrat on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, and Collin Peterson, of Minnesota, who is the ranking member on the House Agriculture Committee. Pelosi aides said the group will meet with "Cuban government officials," as well as Cardinal Jaime Ortega y Alamino, local community leaders and representatives and American officials stationed in the country. (Read more)

> > > Please note: The Catholic Church has ruled to deny Nancy Pelosi communion because of her staunch abortion stance. The next step is excommunication. The meeting with the Cardinal should be very interesting!

- Lord, Communist Cuba was about to fall because the countries that have propped her up have failed- the USSR and Venezuela. But Obama has at the wrong time decided to woo Cuba. Father forgive him. We stand in the gap and repent of interfering where we have no business. We pray that all efforts by the USA fail to gain a foothold in Cuba at this time. In His Name we pray, Amen

- "But he sent ambassadors to him, saying, What have I to do with thee, thou king of Judah? I come not against thee this day, but against the house wherewith I have war; and God hath commanded me to make haste: forbear thee from meddling with God, who is with me, that he destroy thee not." (II Chronicles 35:21)

4. Obama vs. Netanyahu: Israel will not be updated on the Iran negotiations - Jerusalem Online

The American administration is punishing PM Netanyahu for his planned speech in Congress. Israel will not be briefed on the talks with Iran, for fear that Netanyahu will use the information for political needs. In addition, Obama's National Security Advisor is cutting off contacts with the Israeli National Security Council. (Read more)

For an update, please go here.

- Abba Father, what is going on with this Iran nuclear deal that could be so detrimental that the Obama administration wants to keep Israel out of the loop because it does not want the Congress to know what is happening? The Obama administration gave Israel a "yellow card"! Abba, this behavior is infantile and not worthy of the US. Father, we repent for our President blackmailing Israel, and ask that this nation would not be condemned for the sins of this President. Lord, we ask that these shenanigans be exposed so that all would see the truth. In His Name we pray, Amen.

- "Cursed be he that smiteth his neighbor in secret. And all the people shall say, Amen." (Deuteronomy 27:24)

5. Lithuanian fascists march beneath swastikas near execution site of 10,000 Jews - Jerusalem Post

Approximately 500 ultra nationalists, some bearing Nazi swastikas, marched through a Lithuanian city that during the Holocaust saw the region's most effective massacre of Jews. Monday's march through Kaunas, Lithuania's second-largest city 60 miles from the capital of Vilnius, was the eighth annual event organized by the Lithuanian Nationalist Youth Union on Feb. 16 - one of their Baltic state's two independence days.

As the marchers assembled at a local park, they were confronted by 20-odd protesters from the local Jewish community and anti-fascist groups who shadowed the marchers in a silent counter-demonstration. "This march is particularly offensive because it is taking place where locals and Nazis murdered more than 10,000 Jews in one day," said David Katz, a U.S.-born Jewish scholar of Yiddish who settled in Vilnius 16 years ago and has led protests against the veneration of Nazis in the Baltic States. (Read more)

- Lord, Shame. Shame on the people of Kaunas, Lithuania. "This march is particularly offensive because it is taking place where locals and Nazis murdered 10,000 Jews in one day." Lord do not allow this offense to go unpunished. In His Name we pray, Amen.

- "All mine enemies shall be put to shameand sore troubled: They shall turn back, they shall be put to shame suddenly." (Psalm 6:10)

6. Eric Holder: 'We're Not at a Time of War' - The Daily Beast

The Attorney General tells reporters that the U.S. isn't at war against ISIS-never mind all those airstrikes, and all those troops deployed in Iraq.

U.S. and coalition forces have conducted nearly 2,300 airstrikes hitting more than 4,800 targets in Iraq and Syria since August 2014, as part of the ongoing campaign to defeat the so-called Islamic State. Three service members have already perished in these ongoing operations against ISIS.

But according to Attorney General Eric Holder, "we're not at a time of war."

The comments, during a luncheon at the National Press Club, came just days after the White House sent Congressional leaders a draft bill that would authorize the continuation of the war against ISIS in Iraq and Syria. (Read more)

- Lord God, if this is not a time of war, we don't know what this is. Our administration's current policy on ISIS is reminiscient of the U.S. policy in both World Wars. Both times, we refrained from entering until the very last minute, but when the time came, we made the difference. Father, help us to learn from past mistakes, and to identify the enemy at the gate and take action. We ask this in Jesus' name, amen and amen.

- "And all things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive." (Matthew 21:22)

7. Obama vows to abide by immigration court order - CNN

Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson, whose department would be responsible for implementing the executive orders, said he "strongly" disagrees with the judge's decision.

Johnson said his department would comply with the injunction while the appeals process plays out and his department will not launch the DACA expansion on Wednesday, as previously scheduled.

"We fully expect to ultimately prevail in the courts, and we will be prepared to implement DAPA and expanded DACA once we do," Johnson said. (Read more)

- Lord God, once again we offer You a great chorus of praise for this judge's ruling, and now that DHS Secretary Jeh Johnson has stated that the president will comply with this order -- for now. We ask that the full force of the law be applied so that this decision will "stick" in future court decisions, and our people can be free of this burden. We ask this in Jesus' name, amen and amen.

- "The LORD is my strength and my defense; he has become my salvation. He is my God, and I will praise him, my father's God, and I will exalt him." (Exodus 15:2)

8. Intel: ISIS planning attacks on U.S. soil - WND

Cells already in place for spring, summer offensive

Egypt, now at the forefront of fighting ISIS, is warning it has intelligence revealing the global jihadist group is planning a worldwide offensive this spring or summer that could reach targets within the United States.

Interrogations of ISIS members captured in recent weeks in the Egyptian Sinai Peninsula Egyptian and information collected by Egyptian security forces indicate ISIS is planning ground offensives this spring and summer aimed at taking over more territory across the Middle Eastern and Persian Gulf, a senior Egyptian intelligence official told WND.

Some of the information indicates the new offensive will not be limited to the Arab world. Timed to coincide with its planned surge, ISIS is plotting possible attacks using cells abroad.

ISIS and its jihadist allies could activate cells to carry attacks in Europe and possibly within the U.S., the senior Egyptian official warned. (Read more)

- Help us, Lord, to take serious heed to this warning, and to be prepared in mind, body and soul for what may come. May God protect us all.

9. Egypt Pursues Criminal Charges Against Clinton and Obama - Conservative Tribune

President Barack Obama and then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton took great care of the Muslim Brotherhood while the terrorist group was briefly in charge of Egypt following the Arab Spring. Though the group is no longer in power, as they were ousted by the Egyptian military, Egypt hasn't forgotten the aid and comfort Obama provided the terrorist group during their short reign.

Egypt has officially charged both Obama and Clinton with conspiring with the Muslim Brotherhood. These serious charges aren't a stretch, as Obama has been seen protecting the group in various ways, including placing them on a "hands off" list to allow entrance into the United States and even an invite into his own administration.

While the group controlled Egypt, Obama made sure that they had plenty of weapons, including tanks, light and heavy arms and even planes - to the tune of billions of dollars.

The Muslim Brotherhood is all about implementing Shariah law in Western countries, and the United States is no exception. They wouldn't hesitate to harm or kill any Christian or Jew who aren't willing to accept or share their radical faith. We've already seen several examples of Shariah spreading to the West - and it's only getting worse. (Read more)

- Father, we praise You for the courage shown by the people of Egypt. We thank You for the price they have already paid in rising up and overthrowing the yoke of an evil, MB-controlled presidency. And now, dear Lord, they are working to hold Obama and Hillary Clinton accountable for their criminal actions against them. We ask for favor to be shown to the people of Egypt in their own court of law, and for any criminal actions carried out by the Obama administration to be tried in truth. We ask this in Jesus' name, amen and amen.

- "For I know how many are your offenses and how great your sins. There are those who oppress the innocent and take bribes and deprive the poor of justice in the courts." (Amos 5:12)

10. Pro-Russian rebels force Ukrainian troops to retreat from railway hub, as Putin mocks cease-fire - Fox News

Ukrainian separatists dubbed by Russian President Vladimir Putin as "yesterday's miners or yesterday's tractor drivers" drove Ukraine's army from a key rail hub in the eastern part of the country in what was branded a "crushing defeat" just days after a short-lived cease-fire agreement.

Fierce fighting around the town of Debaltseve, through which railroads linking the two major separatist cities of Donetsk and Luhansk pass, had been raging for days despite a cease-fire deal brokered by European leaders and signed by Putin to take effect Sunday. The past was supposed to be followed by the withdrawal of heavy weaponry beginning Tuesday, but the fighting barely paused.

On Wednesday, multiple sources told Fox News that the pro-Russian rebels were holding 300 Ukrainian troops prisoner, but officials in Kiev insist that the number is lower. Russian state-owned television on Wednesday showed images of several dozen Ukrainian troops being escorted along a village road by the rebels.(Read more)

- Please pray in the Spirit about all news coming out of Ukraine these days. This conflict is a very complex situation, with many lives in danger. Thank our Lord that, as we allow Him to "intercede through us," His will shall be accomplished in and for Ukraine. In His Name, amen.

- "In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans." (Romans 8:26)

The Middle East in Focus

"Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed," says the LORD, who has compassion on you." (Isaiah 54:10)

1. Syria 'agrees to stop Aleppo strikes for six weeks' -BBC

UN envoy to Syria Staffan de Mistura says Damascus is prepared to suspend its aerial bombardment of Aleppo for six weeks for a trial ceasefire. Mr de Mistura said the Syrian pledge offered a glimmer of hope although it is unclear when it would take effect.

The opposition Syrian National Council says the government will be judged by actions rather than words. Government forces have been engaged in heavy fighting as they try to cut a crucial rebel supply route. More than 100 soldiers and rebels were reported to have been killed on Tuesday as the army captured several villages north of the city.

Mr de Mistura has been working since October to negotiate what are called "local freezes" in the Syrian fighting that would start with Aleppo.

2. Researchers: Cyber attacks on Israel traced to Gaza -YNET

A series of cyber attacks against Israel since mid-2013 appears to be coming from "Arab parties located in the Gaza Strip" and elsewhere, US security researchers say. A research report by Trend Micro said the effort appears to be using "spear phishing" emails with an attachment disguised as a pornographic video. When a user clicks on the attachment, it installs malware that allows for remote access of documents on the infected computer, the report said.

The researchers said in a report released Sunday that this highly targeted campaign dubbed "Arid Viper" is a sort of "smash-and-grab" first seen in the middle of 2013, and which uses network infrastructure located in Germany.

The security firm said those behind the scheme are using sophisticated methods with the goal of stealing sensitive data from Israeli-based organizations - government, transport, military and academia and one organization based in Kuwait.

3. Jewish journalist gets hate on videotape as he strolls streets of Paris
-FOX News

Days after a gunman in Copenhagen opened fire on a synagogue and a free speech event, killing two, a video uploaded to YouTube shows a Jewish journalist walking around Paris in traditional Jewish garb, secretly recording a barrage of anti-Semitic hatred, threats and epithets -- many from Muslims, including a little boy who asks his hijab-clad mother: "Doesn't he know he will be killed?"

The video was patterned after a viral video taken by a New York woman in which she captured catcalls, unwelcome flirtations and leering of men around the city. But instead of sexual harassment, Zvika Klein, of the Jewish media outlet NRG, caught threats and epithets from Parisians, including one child.

"What is he doing here Mommy?" a little boy asked his mother, who was wearing a Muslim headscarf, or hijab, as Klein strolled through a public housing neighborhood. "Doesn't he know he will be killed?"

4. Getting Paid to Kill Jews -Israel Today

It is by now no secret that the Palestinian Authority uses large portions of the international financial aid it receives to provide salaries and other payouts to terrorists who kill Jews.

But a fresh investigation by journalist Edwin Black has revealed that this is not some automatic, blind welfare system, but rather a very deliberate effort to reward those who have chosen the path of violence, and therefore encourage others to do the same.

America today contributes about $400 million a year in direct financial aid to the Palestinian Authority, and another $400 in other assistance and investments. The European Union provides a similar amount.

In 2011, Itamar Marcus of Palestinian Media Watch spoke before the US Congress to explain how this money was being cynically used to encourage the slaughter of Israeli Jews by paying healthy monthly salaries to those sitting in Israeli jails, or to the families of terrorists killed during successful attacks.

5. Israel eases restrictions in Gaza -YNET News

The Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) decided to raise the quota of entry permits for Gaza merchants to the West Bank and to Israel from 3,000 to 5,000 a month, while the number of daily exit permits from the Strip to the West Bank and to Israel has been doubled from 400 to 800 a day.

The COGAT also approved the marketing of more industrial and agricultural goods from the Gaza Strip in the West Bank, such as textile, furniture, fruit, vegetables and fish. At the moment, however, Gaza farmers and merchants are not allowed to market their goods in the Israeli market, even though the issue has been examined in the past.

6. PM bent on Congress speech, but 'open' to arguments against -Times of Israel

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared Tuesday that while he has every intention of going ahead with a controversial speech about Iran to the US Congress in March, he is open to hearing the reasonings of those who oppose the address.

Netanyahu made the statement as he met with Republican Congressmen Robert Pittenger (North Carolina) and Dennis A. Ross (Florida) at the Prime Minister's Office in Jerusalem.

"We have a great national interest in preventing Iran from acquiring the means to develop nuclear weapons," Netanyahu told his guests before the meeting. "That's why I think it's important for me to speak before the members of Congress, all members of Congress, and explain Israel's position.

7. Iran says accelerating nuclear progress - Times of Israel

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on Tuesday said the Islamic republic was speeding up its nuclear program, adding that Tehran doesn't ask for permission from any other country to pursue technological advancement.

According to a report by the semi-official Fars news agency, Rouhani said Iran has made "highly important progress in the nuclear field," but that such advancements have been eclipsed by the ongoing nuclear negotiations with world powers.

"We don't and will not take permission from anyone to make progress in science and knowledge," the president said, adding, perhaps in a veiled reference to Israel's objection to what it considers Iran's drive to develop nuclear weapons, that Tehran would continue to prove its enemies' claims false. 8. [In YEMEN] Iran's Houthis Start Battle to Control Red Sea Entry - Israel National News

Shi'ite Houthi militia, after replacing Yemen's government, launches conquest of strategic port city of Aden controlling Eilat access.

The Shi'ite Houthi militia which is loyal to Iran and receives support from the Islamic regime has moved its conquest of Yemen into a new stage, opening its battle for the southern port city of Aden which controls access to the Red Sea and ultimately to Eilat and Israel.

Earlier this month the Houthis established their temporary government, the Supreme Revolutionary Council, in the presidential castle in the capital city of Sana'a after besieging the previous government in the castle until it disbanded.

On Monday, the new government led by acting president Mohammed Ali Al-Houthi ratified a decision to take over control of the country and called on the UN Security Council to "honor the will of the Yemenite people," framing their coup as a locally supported event despite the fierce opposition the Houthi minority militia is facing having taken control. The Daily Jot

A terrorist threat of "presidential" proportions

ABC News reports that top US counterterrorism officials believe that the "president's" program to bring Syrian refugees into the US may include Islamic State terrorists who could establish cells here to attack Americans. At a Congressional Homeland Security Committee hearing last week, National Counterterrorism Center Director Nicholas Rasmussen said, "It's clearly a population of concern." Committee Chairman Mike McCaul, R-Texas, said it would be a "huge mistake" to bring refugees from the conflict to the US. The State Department's refugee head, Larry Bartlett, said, however, that the refugees must be allowed because "we care about others." Government choosing emotionalism over national security.

Let us remember, however, that this problem has not developed overnight, although this "president" has ordered the breaking of immigration law and has purposely allowed porous borders inviting high risks of terrorist infiltration. In April 2006, under the George W. Bush Administration, there were massive protests against US immigration laws. The news media portrayed these protests as loosely organized, spontaneous demonstrations of support for illegal aliens organized by religious organizations, human rights groups and labor unions. Even public schools were giving students extra credit community service hours if students participated in the protests.

A closer review indicated protest organizers were communists, socialists, and liberal church organizations. American Values President Gary Bauer investigated a bit further and found "some of the most extreme anti-American groups in the country, including ANSWER - the Act Now to Stop War and End Racism coalition. ANSWER's steering committee includes the following organizations: the Free Palestine Alliance, the Muslim Student Association, the Party for Socialism and Liberation, and the Mexican Solidarity Network, among others." That was April 10, 2006--nearly a decade ago. Since then, there have been continuous reports of radicals crossing into the US and alerts that terror cell attacks are imminent.

The "president," is bringing in Syrian refugees from the hotbed of the Islamic State to resettle in the US despite US officials admitting that their screening and vetting capabilities are far from foolproof. McCaul and leading Republicans sent a letter to Security Advisor Susan Rice saying that it is difficult to screen these people and that the government "cannot allow the refugee process to become a backdoor for jihadists." Letters are a nice way to say "I told you so" when something goes wrong. What we need is a Congress that demands and requires the "president" to enforce the laws. Jeremiah 51:14 says, "Surely I will fill thee with men, as with locusts; and they shall lift up a battle cry against you." The "president" probably heard this verse and thought it was a good thing for America, and there are a lot of churches who think it's a good thing, too.

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

Understanding the Threat (1)

Understanding the Threat:

The Political Left's Marriage to the Islamic Jihad --
The Culture of Death

Let us begin with the fact that the Political Left is responsible for more murders in the last 90 years than all other ideologies combined, including the Islamic Jihad. From Vladamir Lenin to Mao Zedung to Pol Pot to Adolf Hitler to Josef Stalin the communists and socialists in the 20th century killed tens of millions of people - in brutal and barbaric ways.

Elites on the Political Left will say these "extreme" examples of Stalin and Hitler are not related to their efforts to bring "equality" and "justice" to the average man and woman, and they would never support such treatment of people. This soft-spoken language of socialism is no less dangerous because it lays the foundation for the likes of Stalins and Hitlers, and have for over 90 years.

We must also begin with the fact that America was founded on the principle that God gave us our right to life and, therefore, each of us has value and dignity in the eyes of God. This "unalienable right" as written by Thomas Jefferson in our Declaration of Independence, is defined in legal dictionaries in the 1800's to mean "a right that could not be taken away from you even if you tried to give it up."

When free people surrender the right to life in any manner, we surrender it for all of us. Tyranny knows no boundaries.

21 Coptic Christians Beheaded by ISIS

Today, on the first day of Lent - Ash Wednesday - it is right that we remember the 21 Coptic Christians beheaded a couple days ago by ISIS. This story received little attention from the media.

The White House statement did not even identify the victims as "Christian."

[ Read the news report from Christian Post here.]

ISIS: Modern Day Philistines?

ISIS: Modern Day Philistines?

I was initially struck by the height of the ISIS giants leading the Coptic Christians to their beheading. The anointed eye recognizes the scales of the serpent. ISIS apparently chose the tallest butchers for the photo op, to project intense fear and horror to their targeted audience: America, The Great Satan."

The Philistines were the ISIS of the Gaza Strip in 1000 b.c. Their champion, 9' 6" Goliath of Gath, daily summoned, "Goliath stood and shouted a taunt across to the Israelites. 'Why are you all coming out to fight?' he called. 'I am the Philistine champion, but you are only the servants of Saul. Choose one man to come down here and fight me! If he kills me, then we will be your slaves. But if I kill him, you will be our slaves! I defy the armies of Israel today! Send me a man who will fight me!' When Saul and the Israelites heard this, they were terrified and deeply shaken."* Terror and fear are the largest denominations in the adversary's currency.
. . . The denial of the existence of evil, that God actually has enemies, is part of the fallout of a Biblically illiterate nation. Our previous president was conned, "Mr. President, when you talk about peace in the Middle East, you've often said that freedom is granted by the Almighty. Some people who share your beliefs don't believe that Muslims worship the same Almighty. I wonder about your views on that." President George W. Bush, "I do say that freedom is the Almighty's gift to every person. I also condition it by saying freedom is not America's gift to the world. It's much greater than that, of course. And I believe we worship the same God [Islam and Christianity]." (11/20/03)
. . . Americans want God's help, but not His holiness. We cry out to God in crisis, but not in our daily lives. We have acclimated to the false religion of secularism, "There are many people who think it's useful to have God on their side. In a way they want to honor God. They will go to church. They will say prayers. They will ask a pastor to bless a marriage or their new house. The kind of God they want is simply a God who will help them get their own way and win their own battles. They want God to be a servant to help them get things done, but at the same time they want to have their own views and live their own lives."
. . .Christian capitulation to secular politics - more the rule than the exception in the modern church - is nothing less than apostasy, a denial of the gospel that announces Jesus as Lord.
We need a Gideon or Rahab the Harlot to stand.

What's About to Happen to Marriage?

What's About to Happen to Marriage?

Many states are still challenging the efforts by the federal courts to redefine marriage. In the CitizenLink Report, Focus on the Family Judicial Analyst Bruce Hausknecht explains where we are and where we may be headed next.

The Supreme Court will hear arguments by four states in April. Two federal appeals courts soon will consider challenges by six other states.

The changes across the country already are having a negative impact on Christian business owners involved in the wedding business. Government encroachment on religious freedom will only increase if the high court magically discovers a right to marriage in the U.S. Constitution. (Citizen Link) Watch video here.

Planned Parenthood in Court Over State Funding of Abortions

Rocky Mountain Planned Parenthood of Colorado is accused of using tax dollars to pay for abortions. That violates a state constitutional amendment passed by voters in 1984. The Colorado Department of Public Health audited the abortion seller in 2001 and ended its state funding.

Alliance Defending Freedom attorney Natalie Decker is representing Jan Norton, the former executive director of the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. The suit is in the court of appeals. A trial court ruled in favor of Planned Parenthood. (CitizenLink) Read more.

Petition the FCC

Tell the FCC to stay away from the internet

This is critical! Your voice must be heard now in the loudest of voices. The FCC is doing a power grab of the internet. There are only a few days left to voice your opposition. If you want a Department of the Internet and you think that will make independent voices stronger, stay silent.

Otherwise tell CONGRESS AND THE FCC HANDS OFF THE INTERNET.

Questioning Ginsburg

Questioning Ginsburg's Personal Judgment

If she can nap during the State of the Union, it shouldn't surprise us when people wonder if Ruth Bader Ginsburg is asleep on the job! Late last week, the 22-year Supreme Court Justice stunned everyone by commenting on same-sex "marriage" -- just months before the Court is set to decide it. In an interview with Bloomberg, Ginsburg was surprisingly open about her feelings on the issue, crossing an ethical line that raises new questions about the justice's impartiality.

For any judge -- let alone one on the country's highest court -- to speak publicly about a pending case is an indiscretion that shocked people on both sides of the debate. Fox News's Brit Hume tweeted out his displeasure: "Justice Ginsburg sounds off on an issue pending before the Supreme Court. Amazing impropriety." The liberal justice, who had nothing but praise for President Obama, insists that America would come around to the Court's redefinition of marriage if it did indeed sweep aside every state's marriage amendment in a ruling this summer.

"The change in people's attitudes on that issue has been enormous," she said in an interview with Bloomberg. "In recent years, people have said, 'This is the way I am.' And others looked around, and we discovered it's our next-door neighbor -- we're very fond of them... (T)he rest of us recognized that they are one of us." It would not "take a large adjustment," she claimed, for the country to accept the Court's radical rewrite of nature's laws. Before long, she believes, voters would understand having their laws trampled and their state sovereignty attacked.
Not only is Ginsburg mistaken, she's amazingly indiscreet in flouting what is obviously a premeditated vote on an issue still hotly debated in every corner of America. She and fellow Justice Elana Kagan were already on thin ice where objectivity is concerned, having both presided over same-sex "weddings." Now, with these latest revelations, the façade of fairness is crumbling.

The only answer, many believe, is for Justice Ginsburg to recuse herself from a trial she has already swayed. A growing chorus of Americans is calling for the justice to do the right thing and step aside. From Washington, D.C. to states like Alabama, voters demanded an end to the courts' open activism. Brian Brown, head of the National Organization for Marriage, was one of several leaders asking that Ginsburg "comply with federal law and disqualify herself as she is required to do. If she refuses, we will ask Congress to act."

The controversy seems to have snapped Ginsburg back into line --at least temporarily. When asked a couple of days ago about the case, she replied, "I don't want to talk about what you describe as gay rights," she said. "I don't want to suggest how the court will decide that case, one way or another." Unfortunately for her -- and for America -- the damage has already been done. (Family Research Council)

About Oregon's Governor

LGBT Banks on Oregon Governor

When Kate Brown takes over as Governor of Oregon, voters may not know anything about her record, but they will certainly know about her love life. The leading stories about the state's new leader have nothing to do with Brown's legislative accomplishments and everything to do with her other conquests. As a self-professed bisexual, most of the headlines surrounding Brown's promotion are about the visibility she can bring to the "bi-community" -- not the unity and progress she can bring to the state as a whole.

The soon-to-be Governor is a married stepmom of two, but openly talks about her attractions to both sexes. "To the extent that they're out, they may well be more so the victims of scorn because they get it from both gay and straight people," said one homosexual activist. "Gays want them to make a choice, and straights consider them gay, so in many ways they face increased amounts of stigma and discrimination."
While few people would see the next governor as a victim, it's a truly sad commentary on the devolution of our nation that leaders are not defined -- not by their skill or expertise -- but by their sexual experiences. As a society, we've become so obsessed with sex that we're almost incapable of considering anything else. Of course, the question on every Oregonians' minds should be: will Brown's public policy be as fluid as her sexuality? (Family Research Council)

This Pastor's Simple Idea is Literally Saving Lives in South Korea

Now His Story Will be Told In Theaters... Will it Catch On Worldwide?

In Seoul, the capital of South Korea, hundreds of infants are abandoned on the streets every year. The problem became so severe that one Korean pastor decided to take unprecedented action.

It's a story that's now the subject of an award-winning documentary by film maker Brian Ivie, which will be shown in theaters nationwide March 3-5. Please mark it on your calendar, March 3-5, because you and your church are going to want to see it.

Stirred several years ago by a report in the Los Angeles Times about Pastor Lee Jong-rak's unique solution to infant abandonment, Ivie-then a film student at the University of Southern California-raised enough money to lead a team to Seoul to capture this tiny but inspirational ministry.

Well, Pastor Lee Jong-rak calls it his "Drop Box." The concept is simple. Instead of aborting or abandoning their infants, mothers who either can't keep or don't want their babies bring them to the wooden box affixed to Pastor Lee's house; they say goodbye, and they shut the door. The box, which is equipped with lights and heat, has a sign in Korean, "Please don't throw away unwanted or disabled babies, or babies of single mothers. Please bring them here instead."

When the box opens a bell rings, and Pastor Lee, his wife, or a volunteer, comes and takes the child inside. Since Pastor Lee installed the Drop Box in 2009, as many as 18 babies a month have arrived at his home, which doubles as an orphanage. He and his wife have even adopted ten as their own-that's the maximum number local authorities will allow.

Sometimes he speaks to mothers face-to-face. One told him she intended to poison herself and her newborn before hearing about the Drop Box. Another simply left a note, which read:

"My baby! Mom is so sorry. I am so sorry to make this decision. . . I hope you meet great parents. . . Mom loves you more than anything else. I leave you here because I don't know who your father is. I used to think about something bad, but I guess this box is safer for you. . . Please forgive me."

Brian Ivie's movie, aptly entitled "The Drop Box," has already won awards at the Jubilee and Independent Christian Film festivals. And now, Focus on the Family, Pine Creek Entertainment, Kindred Image and Fathom Events will present the movie in selected cinemas for three nights only,March 3-5.

Japan earthquake: Tsunami alert lifted,

seismologists say quake was an 'aftershock' from 2011 disaster

Japan has lifted a tsunami advisory it issued for the north-eastern coast after a magnitude 6.9 earthquake, which seismologists said was an aftershock from the devastating March 2011 quake.

This morning small waves of 10 to 20 centimetres reached the coast off Iwate prefecture, 600 kilometres north of Tokyo, where Broadcaster NHK said thousands of residents had been ordered to evacuate.

"This quake is an aftershock of the 2011 quake that hit the Tohoku region," Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) seismologist Yasuhiro Yoshida told reporters. The agency warned residents against entering the ocean and said waves could continue to fluctuate for some time.

The US Geological Survey (USGS) said the earthquake had a magnitude of 6.8, while the JMA had earlier recorded it as 6.9.

There were no immediate reports of injuries or casualties following the quake, local media said. The city of Ofunato in Iwate issued an evacuation advisory to more than 1,350 households.

"We are using the emergency broadcast to advise people to keep away from the sea," Kozo Hirano, an Otsuchi Town official in Iwate, told Japan's public broadcaster NHK. "The quake was pretty strong and lasted a long time so I thought there would be a tsunami warning." (ABCNetNews) Read more.
