The Daily Brief

1. a) Al Qaeda, ex-Gitmo detainee involved in consulate attack, intelligence sources say - Fox News

Intelligence sources tell Fox News they are convinced the deadly attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, was directly tied to Al Qaeda -- with a former Guantanamo detainee involved.

b) Al Qaeda Suspected of Killing U.S. Ambassador - Weekly Standard

The Obama administration has conceded that the attack that killed Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans in Libya on September 11 was, in fact, an act of terrorism. And intelligence officials suspect that al Qaeda's affiliate, al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM), orchestrated the raid.

- Father, as the truth is revealed about these attacks, we pray that Your Spirit will move over the people of the region, and over those in the United States who have either refused to see what's really going on, or those who might have a separate agenda from the peace and safety of America.

- "There the workers of iniquity have fallen, they have been cast down and are not able to rise." [Psalm36:12]

2. Western report - Iran ships arms, personnel to Syria via Iraq - Reuters

Iran has been using civilian aircraft to fly military personnel and large quantities of weapons across Iraqi airspace to Syria to aid President Bashar al-Assad in his attempt to crush an 18-month uprising against his government, according to a Western intelligence report seen by Reuters.

- We pray Lord, that You will continue to expose this ruse and bring the perpetrators to justice.

- "Deceit is in the heart of those who devise evil" [Proverbs 12:20]

3. Could US be behind Iran power line blasts? - Ynet News

Could the United States be behind a move to sabotage power lines at Iran's nuclear facilities? The Daily Beast on Wednesday suggested that US Special Forces, which have been training for operation inside Islamic Republic for years, could already be on the ground.

- Pray that God will protect all American operatives who are working hard to prevent an attack on Israel.

- "By wise counsel you will wage your own war" [Proverbs 24:6a]

4. New French cartoons inflame prophet film tensions - Times of Israel

France stepped up security Wednesday at its embassies across the Muslim world after a French satirical weekly revived a formula that it has already used to capture attention: Publishing crude, lewd caricatures of Islam's Prophet Muhammad.

- Father, we pray that You will quell the continual tantrums of people who attempt to silence free speech by inciting violence.

- "For they eat the bread of wickedness, and drink the wine of violence." [Proverbs 4:17]

5. 'Furious' report slams 'disregard' for public safety as DOJ officials quit- Fox News

The report says Attorney General Eric Holder was not made aware of potential flaws in the program until February of last year. But the report cites 14 other department employees -- including Criminal Division head Lanny Breuer -- for potential wrongdoing, recommending the department consider disciplinary action against them.

Read more:

- Father, we are dismayed that the head of our federal law enforcement was not held accountable for the "Fast and Furious" scheme, but we thank You there will likely be disciplinary action against those who were directly involved.

- "Hate evil, love good; establish justice in the gate" [Amos 5:15a]

6. ObamaCare Penalty to Hit 6 Million- Fox News

Nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office analysts say nearly six million, mostly in the middle class, will face tax penalty for not carrying medical coverage once Obama's health care law is fully in place.

- Father, we pray for mercy over the people of America, that these Obamacare regulations will be abandoned before they go fully into effect.

- "Let me be weighed in a just balance, that God may know my integrity." [Job 31:6]

7. Federal Reserve Accused of Setting U.S. Up for 'Crash' - WND

The Federal Reserve, that private organization that determines interest rates and the availability of money in America, is going to be examined by a congressional committee whose chairman is worried it is setting the nation up "for a much larger crash in future."

- Pray the Fed will find the wisdom of God before a major disaster occurs in our economy.

- (See also Isaiah 22:14-19) "I Artaxerxes the king, do issue a decree to all the treasurers -- whatever Ezra the priest, the scribe of the Law of the God of Heaven may require of you, let it be done diligently." [Ezra 7:21]

8. Pastors pledge to defy IRS, preach politics from pulpit ahead of election- FoxNews

More than 1,000 pastors are planning to challenge the IRS next month by deliberately preaching politics ahead of the presidential election despite a federal ban on endorsements from the pulpit.

Read more:

- Lord, we pray this effort on the part of Your people will bring about the desired result, and not a backlash of actions that would cripple their churches.

- "If the ax is dull, and one does not sharpen the edge, then he must use more strength; but wisdom brings success." [Ecclesiastes 10:10]

Islamic vs Christian Eschatology Part 3, Crucifixion/Return

Islam does not teach that Jesus was crucified. Therefore, the Messiah Jesus of Islam shed no blood for the remission of sins of those who believe. This is an extraordinary difference between the Muslim Jesus and the Christian Yeshua. The Qur'an Sura 4:158 says, "That they said (in boast), "We killed Christ Jesus the son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah";- but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them, and those who differ therein are full of doubts, with no (certain) knowledge, but only conjecture to follow, for of a surety they killed him not:- And because of their saying: We slew the Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, Allah's messenger - they slew him not nor crucified him"

Philippians 2:6-11 says, "Though he was in the form of YHVH, he did not regard equality with YHVH, something to be professed by force. On the contrary, he emptied himself, in that he took the form of a slave by becoming like human beings are. And when he appeared as a human being, he humbled himself still more by becoming obedient even to death--death on a stake (on the cross--my note) as a criminal! Therefore YHVH raised him to the highest place and gave him the name above every name; that in honor of the name given Yeshua, every knee will bow--in heaven, on earth and under the earth--and every tongue will acknowledge that Yeshua the Messiah is YHVH--to the glory of YHVH the Father."

The return of the Islamic Jesus is far different than the return of the true Jesus of the Bible, Yeshua. Revelation 19:13-16 says, "He was wearing a robe that had been soaked in blood, and the name by which he is called is, "THE WORD OF YHVH." The armies of heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and pure, were following him on white horses. And out of his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down nations--"He will rule them with a staff of iron." It is he who treads the winepress from which flows the wine of the furious rage of YHVH, YHVH of heaven's armies. And on his robe and on his thigh he has a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS."

Qur'an Sura 4:159 says, "And there is none of the People of the Book but must believe in him before his death; and on the Day of Judgment he will be a witness against them;- There is not one of the People of the Scripture but will believe in him before his death, and on the Day of Resurrection he will be a witness against them - And there is not one of the followers of the Book but most certainly believes in this before his death, and on the day of resurrection he (Isa) shall be a witness against them." Several other Sura specifically define the Muslim Jesus as the one who will return and witness against the saints and enlist other Muslims to help him kill Christians and Jews. The next Jot will discuss the similarities between Islam's Jesus and Christianity's False Prophet.

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

47 Days to Election Day

Black pastors: Stay home on Election Day

Some black clergy see no good presidential choice between a Mormon candidate and one who supports gay marriage, so they are telling their flocks to stay home on Election Day.

That's a worrisome message for the nation's first African-American president, who can't afford to lose any voters from his base in a tight race.

The pastors say their congregants are asking how a true Christian could back same-sex marriage, as President Barack Obama did in May. As for Republican Mitt Romney, the first Mormon nominee from a major party, congregants are questioning the theology of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and its former ban on men of African descent in the priesthood.
In 2008, Obama won 95 percent of black voters and is likely to get an overwhelming majority again. But any loss of votes would sting. (Washington Times 24/7) Read more.

The Good News Corner:

First Ever International Homeschool Conference

Conference will begin October 31 in Vancouver, Canada

"American homeschoolers enjoy great freedom to homeschool. By supporting the GHEC 2012 conference, we can give hope to our beleaguered friends abroad and also strengthen arguments in favor of home education everywhere."-Michael Donnelly

(Purcellville, VA)-After losing yet another trial for homeschooling, German parents Juergen and Rosemary Dudek are hopeful a planned global event in their country may lay a foundation for positive change. However, even as they await the ruling for a criminal conviction they have appealed to the German supreme constitutional court, the Dudeks face imminent trials for other younger children they are now homeschooling.

I can only feel the system is utterly inhuman, cold, brutal-run by bureaucrats who think they're only doing their job but uphold the system at all costs," Juergen explains. "Perhaps a conference will help put things in their proper perspective and convince authorities that homeschooling families should not be treated this way."
Jonas Himmelstrand is president in exile of the national homeschool association in Sweden, where more families, including Himmelstrand who has been in court for years, face government oppression. Many Swedish homeschoolers are fleeing the country. Himmelstrand hopes the conference in Germany, a leader in the European Union, will draw attention to this important human rights concern. Despite Himmelstrand's difficulties he chairs the organizing committee of the conference, hoping that the conference will highlight the struggles his country faces.
"Home education is . . . one of the most urgent human rights issues in the democratic world today. The United Nations Declaration of Human Rights makes it all very clear in Article 26.3 [that] parents have a prior right to choose the kind of education that shall be given to their children, but not all countries respect this right equally," says Himmelstrand.
Michael Donnelly, lawyer and director of international relations at the Home School Legal Defense Association, explains the purpose of this first-ever international homeschool conference, the Global Home Education Conference 2012 (GHEC 2012).

"We are reaching out to parents, politicians, policy makers, and professors to come and discuss the obstacles and opportunities facing homeschoolers around the world," Donnelly says. "We welcome all regardless of motivation or methodology. Our vision is to have an impact on global educational policy in favor of home education."

New Election Prayer Guide for 2012

NEW!!

UPDATED: ELECTION PRAYER GUIDE FOR 2012

Dear Friends,

Now that we are heading into the final stretch of this election, CHPP is releasing an updated version of our Prayer Guide so that, together, we can lift up this election with Scripture-based intercession. Thank you for passing this on to others, too.

We have also been blessed to learn that intercessors in Malaysia, Indonesia, Ethiopia and India are now using this Guide to Prayer for OUR nation (isn't that wonderful?) and that the National Prayer Committee has posted this resource on their website, as well.

To access the 2012 Election Prayer Guide, go here. Thank you!
