The Daily Brief - Friday, Oct. 7, 2011

"Holy, holy, holy is the LORD Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory." (Isaiah 6:3)

The Daily Brief

1. Iran Pastor's Execution Verdict Expected Monday; Ruling Delayed - Worthy News

Iranian Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani learns early next week whether he will be executed for refusing to recant his faith in Jesus Christ and return to Islam, as the court needs more time to consult with the country's leadership, trial observers told Worthy News Thursday, October 6.

- Father, we ask for covenant promises to come into play here, and that no court or country's leadership be able to override God's faithfulness. Pull down Iran's blindness - that the scales fall from their eyes - and they be able to see the mighty forces of heaven at work here. Bring deliverance for this pastor that his testimony will be more intense to reach many people with the gospel of salvation through the blood of Jesus that was shed on the Cross some 2,000 years ago. In Jesus' Name.

- "The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows His handiwork. The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul; the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple."(Psalm 19:1,7)

2. U.S. drone kills 5 al-Qaeda militants in Yemen - USA Today

A U.S. drone strike killed five al-Qaeda-linked militants in southern Yemen on Wednesday, Yemeni officials said.

- Father, You are not made happy by the death of the wicked who have spent their lives doing evil deeds. Rather, it was Your will for these five men to have repented of their sin and turned to the Lord in salvation. May their families be touched by an angel who will guide them to know the truth that they be saved from such a fate as these have met. In Jesus' Name.

- "Come now, and let us reason together, says the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow: though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. If you be willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land." (Isaiah 1:18-19)

3. Wall Street Protesters Disgusted With Both Parties - ABC News

Although their main concern is Wall Street practices and economic inequality, some demonstrators in New York and across the U.S. say politicians from both major parties are to blame for policies they say protect corporate America at the expense of the country's middle class.

- God, we ask that You untie all the knots and bring to light all lies and deception that all may see just what is going on undercover and in secret that is moving to bring destruction to America. The blame is put upon those whose identity is undisclosed. God, we pray You expose just what we are really dealing with. Strengthen the determination of those loyal to America to fight a good fight enhanced with great fervor to knock the props out from under this ungodly plan. In Jesus' Name.

- "These are the things that you shall do; Speak you every man the truth to his neighbor; execute the judgment of truth and peace in your gates: And let none of you imagine evil in your hearts against his neighbor, and love no false oath: for all these are things that I hate, says the Lord." (Zechariah 8:16,17)

4. Obama Has Now Increased Debt More than All the Constitutionally Qualified Presidents from George Washington Through George H.W. Bush - CNS News

The Obama administration passed another fiscal milestone this week, according to new data released by the Treasury Department. As of the close of business on Oct. 3, the total national debt was $14,837,099,271,196.71--up about $44.8 billion from Sept. 30.

- Father, we cry out to our holy God to bring all this to an end as You raise Your hand and say,
"Enough is enough and this administration will go no further." For the people's sake and the country's sake, bring this avenue to an end. Mighty God in heaven, we ask You to unravel all that has been done. In Jesus' Name.

- "If My people, which are called by My Name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." (II Chronicles 7:14)

5. Defiant Obama challenges GOP on jobs bill - AP

Defiant and frustrated, Obama aggressively challenged Republicans Thursday to get behind his jobs plan or explain why not, declaring that if Congress fails to act "the American people will run them out of town." [The real truth is that we, the natural born Americans with un-forged birth certificates, are going to run him out of town in November 2012 and he knows it! Americans are fed up with his incompetence and ignorance. His Marxist ideals are destroying this country, and many if not most American citizens see what he is doing.]

- Father in heaven, we pray these words fall to the ground and die. May the sound-minded Republicans and Democrats who are led by God, hold to their solid intellectual beliefs and not be swayed nor daunted by any force but God's written truth for our country. Hear the Word of the Lord and lean upon His everlasting strong arms to carry us, as a powerful America, through to victory. In Jesus' Name.

- "The pride of your heart has deceived you, you that dwells in the clefts of the rock, whose habitation is high; that says in his heart, Who shall bring me down to the ground? Though you exalt yourself as the eagle, and though you set your nest among the stars, thence will I bring you down, says the Lord." (Obadiah 3:4)

Students of the Bible should understand today's economic news

Unemployment in America remains at 9.1%. There is no indication that the economy is improving. Bloomberg quotes Ryan Sweet, a senior economist at Moody's Analytics, saying, "Much of the weakness in hiring can be blamed on uncertainty." These type of assessments sound accurate, but in reality are misstatements. The business atmosphere is not good. The government has engulfed the economy with its historic debt. There is no uncertainty about it. The economy both in the US and worldwide is headed for a major calamity, save a miracle. This is very predictable. American families would be wise to read their Bibles that they might find the secrets of survival in this new world order.

Many denominations downplay Biblical prophecy. They just don't understand it, do not believe prophecy relates to the modern post-Christian world in which we are living. By many accounts, the Bible is entirely prophetic as well as historic and poetic. There is prophecy fulfilled, and prophecy yet to be fulfilled. The Bible consists of the Law and the Prophets. Jesus said in Matthew 5:17, 18, "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets; I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled." Prophecy, therefore, is embodied in the Holy Scriptures, and Jesus shall fulfill all.

When the Governor of the Bank of England, for example, is saying that the world is facing "the most serious financial crisis we've seen," Christians with a clear understanding of the Bible should not panic. The birth pangs of prophecy have stepped closer to fulfillment. In the prophetic book "The Revelation of Jesus Christ" there is a scene in heaven described by the Apostle John where the third seal is opened, releasing the third of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. The rider on this black horse "had a pair of balances in his hand." Revelation 6:6 says, "And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny..."

A type of this prophecy is unfolding before our eyes, like layers of an onion leading to it's core. It appears that the world is being prepared for the crisis created by the end time prophecies. Financial calamity, as the third horse of the Apocalypse depicts, is on the horizon worldwide. No matter what the reason--poor leadership, poor decision-making, evil intent, whatever--the birth pang of financial calamity is upon us. We also know more is to come. The Bible warns us. It would be wise to make preparations that we are not caught unawares. Proverbs 22:5 says, "Thorns and snares are in the way of the froward: he that doth keep his soul shall be far from them." Tend to your soul. Receive the protection of the Lord.

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

The Good News Corner:

Steve Jobs . . .products of conception

While we love our I pads and I phones and mourn the passing of Steve Jobs . . . human being . . . genius . . . did you know he was just "products of conception?"

It started with two graduate students from the University of Wisconsin. Joanne Schiebel got pregnant from Syrian Political Science professor Abdulfattah Jandali. Her parents did not approve of them marrying, they did not have the financial resources , and she wanted to continue her education. Yes, this was pre Roe Vs Wade but abortions were still being done. Joanne decided on an adoption plan for her pre born child. She felt strongly that she wanted her child to be well educated and selected a lawyer and his wife.

But when Steve was born the selected couple declined because they really wanted a girl....remember this was before ultrasounds. So another couple got the call to adopt the bouncing baby boy. Joanne was skeptical at first because they did not have the education she was looking for. The husband was a machinist and the mother an accountant. But they promised they would provide this baby with the opportunity to go to college. They kept that promise working hard and sacrificing to send Steve to college but as we know he dropped out after one semester, frustrated with the constraints of formal education.

He benefited from a stable family and a strong father/son relationship.

As a boy, Jobs and his father would work on electronics in the family garage. Paul would show his son how to take apart and reconstruct electronics, a hobby which instilled confidence, tenacity, and mechanical prowess in young Jobs.

Much is being written about Jobs today. But for all his accomplishments let's remember some heroes in the background. Joanne Schiebel who did not think of her pre born child as just "products of conception." She choose life and made an adoption plan with his best interest in mind.
RIP . . . Steve Jobs . . . products of conception. (Source: Tennessee Right to Life)
