1. HOUSE PASSES HEALTHCARE REFORM BILL: 220-215 MARGIN

Late Saturday night, the House of Representatives passed the Democratic healthcare legislation by a narrow 220 to 215 margin. Republicans were unanimously united against the legislation, with the exception of Congressman Joseph Cao (R-LA), and picked up 39 Democratic votes against the legislation. This is easily the largest and most important piece of legislation to come out of the House of Representatives since the social programs of the 1960's. The bill, titled "The Affordable Health Care for America Act," now moves to the Senate, where it faces an uncertain future. (The Examiner)

2. PRO-LIFE STUPAK AMENDMENT PASSES, 240 - 194

Blocks federal funding of abortions

Several top pro-life organizations hailed last night's vote for the Stupak amendment to stop abortion funding in the government-run health care bill the House approved last night. They said the vote was just the first step of many in making sure Congress doesn't create new programs to fund abortions. (LifeNews)

3. ABORTION ADVOCATES TURN ON EACH OTHER IN CIVIL WAR

Follows Vote on Stupak Amendment

Abortion advocates are turning on each other in the wake of the House vote on the Stupak amendment that saw massive abortion funding stripped from the health care bill. Abortion advocates are upset with Speaker Nancy Pelosi and her top lieutenants while grassroots abortion activists are companying about the leadership at Planned Parenthood and NARAL. (LifeNews)

4. WAXMAN: "NO GUARANTEE" STUPAK AMENDMENT WILL BE RETAINED

House Energy and Commerce Chairman Henry Waxman (D-Calif.) says there is "no guarantee" that an amendment approved by the House on Saturday that prohibits federal funding of abortion in the health care bill will be retained in the final version of the bill. The bill must still go through a House-Senate conference committee and could be stripped out there. (CNSNews.com)

5. HOUSE HEALTH CARE BILL HAS NOWHERE TO GO IN THE SENATE

The glow from a health care triumph faded quickly for President Barack Obama on Sunday as Democrats realized the bill they fought so hard to pass in the House has nowhere to go in the Senate. Speaking from the Rose Garden about 14 hours after the late Saturday vote, Obama urged senators to be like runners on a relay team and "take the baton and bring this effort to the finish line on behalf of the American people."

The problem is that the Senate won't run with it. The government health insurance plan included in the House bill is unacceptable to a few Democratic moderates who hold the balance of power in the Senate. If a government plan is part of the deal, "as a matter of conscience, I will not allow this bill to come to a final vote," said Sen. Joe Lieberman, the Connecticut independent whose vote Democrats need to overcome GOP filibusters.

Democrats did not line up to challenge him. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., has yet to schedule floor debate and hinted last week that senators may not be able to finish health care this year. (AP)

6. SENATOR GRAHAM: HOUSE BILL "D.O.A." IN THE SENATE

Senator Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., said the health care bill passed last night by the House of Representatives is "dead on arrival to the Senate." Graham argued that the House bill was "written for liberals, by liberals. "Just look at how it passed; it passed 220 to 215. It passed by five votes. You had [39] Democrats vote against the bill," Graham told "Face the Nation" host Bob Schieffer Sunday.

". . . I hope and pray it doesn't (pass) because it would be a disaster for the economy and health care," Graham concluded. He believes a public option would "destroy" private health care, saying that insurance companies could not compete against the lower premiums of a government-backed plan. "It will be a death blow to private choice," he said. (CBS)

7. SENATOR HATCH QUESTIONS CONSTITUTIONALITY OF "OBAMACARE"

Republican Sen. Orrin Hatch of Utah, who has served in the Senate for 33 years and is a longtime member of the Judiciary Committee, told CNSNews.com that he does not believe the Democrats' health-care reform plan is constitutionally justifiable, noting that if the federal government can force Americans to buy health insurance "then there is literally nothing the federal government can't force us to do."

Hatch said if the federal government starts ordering Americans to purchase specific products without being able to plausibly justify that mandate through the Commerce Clause of the Constitution which empowers Congress to regulate interstate commerce, it will mean "we've lost our freedoms, and that means the federal government can do anything it wants to do to us. (CNSNews.com)

8. GOP SAYS OBAMA NEEDS TO START OVER ON HEALTH CARE

Slow down and start over. That was the message from top Capitol Hill Republicans in advance of President Barack Obama's address Wednesday night to Congress and the nation on health care.

As Obama seeks to jump start an ambitious health care overhaul despite sliding public opinion poll numbers, Republicans countered with a call for a slimmed-down measure containing a few popular elements such as making sure insurance companies don't deny coverage to people with pre-existing health problems.

"Our view is: Let's scale it back, target the problems and not have the government take over, in effect, all of American health care," Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., (Associated Press)

9. FINAL NOTE FROM CHPP

- Offer praise that the apparent steamroller that was "Obamacare" has now been slowed down in the House, both by the passage of the Stupak Amendment and by the narrow margin by which H.R. 3962 was finally passed. Pray that this momentum, now broken, will come to its end in the Senate, and that in the end, to quote Senator Lindsey Graham, Obamacare will be "dead in the water."

- "And I set boundaries on it, and set a bolt and doors,, and I said, "Thus far you shall come but no farther, and here shall your proud waves stop." (Job 38:10,11)

Fort Hood Update

For every headline below, join us in decreeing this truth from the Word of God:

"But there is nothing covered up that will not be revealed, and hidden that will not be known." (Luke 12:2)

1. SENATOR LIEBERMAN ANNOUNCES SENATE INVESTIGATION INTO FORT HOOD SHOOTING

Sen. Joe Lieberman announced Sunday that he intends to lead a congressional investigation into the mass shooting at Fort Hood, saying the attack could qualify as a "terrorist act" rooted in Islamic radicalism -- the worst since 9/11.

The Independent Democrat, who chairs the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, said there were "strong warning signs" that the alleged gunman, Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, was an "Islamist extremist." "If that is true, the murder of these 13 people was a terrorist act and, in fact, it was the most destructive terrorist act to be committed on American soil since 9/11," Lieberman told "Fox News Sunday." Lieberman said bystanders' accounts of the attack raise "genuine concerns that this was a terrorist act." (Fox News)

2. OBAMA'S FRIGHTENING INSENSITIVITY FOLLOWING SHOOTING

A bad week for Democrats compounded by an awful moment for Barack Obama.

President Obama didn't wait long after Tuesday's devastating elections to give critics another reason to question his leadership, but this time the subject matter was more grim than a pair of governorships.

After news broke out of the shooting at the Fort Hood Army post in Texas, the nation watched in horror as the toll of dead and injured climbed. The White House was notified immediately and by late afternoon, word went out that the president would speak about the incident prior to a previously scheduled appearance. At about 5 p.m., cable stations went to the president. The situation called for not only his trademark eloquence, but also grace and perspective.

But instead of a somber chief executive offering reassuring words and expressions of sympathy and compassion, viewers saw a wildly disconnected and inappropriately light president making introductory remarks. At the event, a Tribal Nations Conference hosted by the Department of Interior's Bureau of Indian affairs, the president thanked various staffers and offered a "shout-out" to "Dr. Joe Medicine Crow -- that Congressional Medal of Honor winner." Three minutes in, the president spoke about the shooting, in measured and appropriate terms. Who is advising him? (NBC News, Chicago) Read more.

3. FT. HOOD ATTACK WAS TERRORISM

In his nationally televised remarks following the horrendous killings at Ft. Hood, President Obama never mentioned the T word. The attack was an act "of violence." No mention of terrorism. In fact, the Ft. Hood shooting is the first terror attack on American soil since 9-11. But Obama, reluctant to take the rap for inadequate protections against such attacks, is doing everything he can to make it look like an adult version of the Columbine school shootings. We are treated to stories about the killer's dread of being sent back to Afghanistan and his deformed personality. But, the fact is that Major Nidal Malik Hasan jumped on a table, yelled "Alah Hu Akhbar" and began the shooting rampage that killed 13 people and wounded 30 more.

Ilana Freedman, CEO and Senior Analyst for the Gerard Group International, which provides intelligence analysis for business and homeland security, describes Hasan as a "lone wolf terrorist" who acts without apparent coordination with any other person or organization. But that does not make him any less of a terrorist. The dividing line, of course, between a terrorist and a psychopathic killer is political motivation. His statements right before opening fire would indicate that Hasan was motivated by fanaticism and a commitment to Islamic fascism, even though President Obama bends over backwards to avoid saying so. (Dick Morris; Front Page Magazine) Read more.

4. ARMY SHOOTER'S MOSQUE RUN BY MUSLIM MAFIA

The suspected Fort Hood terrorist's former mosque in Maryland is controlled by the radical Muslim Brotherhood, a Saudi-funded worldwide jihadist movement which controls many of the mosques in America. WND has learned that the Maryland mosque where Hasan worshiped before his transfer to Fort Hood preaches violent jihad and a harsh Saudi-style Islamic doctrine that denies women the right to individual expression.

Imam Faizul Khan ministered to Hasan when he worshiped at the Muslim Community Center in Silver Spring, Md. Khan has been portrayed in the media as a moderate, but he sits on the national board of directors of the radical Islamic Society of North America, or ISNA. (WorldNetDaily) .

5. HASAN LINKED TO SEPT. 11 HIJACKERS

Nidal Malik Hasan, the Army major suspected of killing 13 people and wounding 29 others at Fort Hood, worshipped at the same mosque as two of the 9/11 terrorists.

According to the London Sunday Telegraph, Hasan attended services at the Dar al-Hijrah mosque in Great Falls, Va., in 2001 at the same time as Sept. 11 hijackers Nawaf al-Hamzi and Hani Hanjour. Funeral services for Hasan's mother also was held at that mosque.

The FBI wants to interrogate Hasan to see if he met or knew al-Hamzi or Hanjour, reports the Telegraph. The imam at the mosque at the time Hasan attended services there was Anwar al-Awlaki, a radical cleric who has been described as a supporter of al-Qaida. A third 9/11 hijacker attended al-Awlaki's lectures in California. (Newsmax)

6. MIITARY JIHADISTS FILL "EVERY BRANCH" OF U.S. MILITARY

"Muslims should stand up and fight the aggressor." That's what Army Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan said about America before he and possibly other Muslim soldiers at Fort Hood shot 43 fellow soldiers, killing 12, who were returning from Iraq and Afghanistan.

"He said Muslims had a right to attack" the U.S., said Col. Terry Lee, who worked with Hasan at the Texas post, where the devout Sunni Muslim refused deployment. "He said Muslims shouldn't be fighting Muslims," he added. "He was very clear on that."

Shockingly, a growing number of other Muslim American soldiers as well as civilian contractors have put their religion before their duty. Some like Hasan have killed, or tried to kill, their fellow soldiers. Others have infiltrated the military in order to undermine it and aid and comfort the enemy.

According to an explosive new book, "Muslim Mafia: Inside the Secret Underworld That's Conspiring to Islamize America," Hasan is just the tip of a jihadist Fifth Column operating within the ranks of the U.S. military - which is too blinded by political correctness to see the threat.

Quoting from a classified military briefing, "Muslim Mafia" reveals that this Fifth Column has penetrated "every branch of the U.S. military." The Islamist enemy has even infiltrated the al-Qaida detention camp at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. (World Net Daily) Read more.

- Ask the Lord to help American society to clean the "foxes" from the hen house. Thsi issue is not a matter of "tolerance" but rather one of national security. Americans must start to understand the Islamic mind; Islamic countries do not assimilate people into their nations but do use our democratic values to gain footholds into America. "Tolerance" is not a concept known to the Islamic mind. Ask the Lord to forgive us for allowing the enemy of God to infiltrate our God-given culture.

- Therefore be careful to observe them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the peoples who will hear all these statutes, and say, 'Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.' (Deut. 33:27)

7. WAS HASSAN A NATIONAL SECURITY RISK?

ARE THERE OTHER MAJ. NIDAL MALIK HASSANS PRIVY TO VITAL NATIONAL SECURITY INFORMATION ISRAEL SHARES WITH AMERICA?

Reports regarding Fort Hood shooter Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan indicate that the U.S. Army was about to send him to a war zone despite his open support for terror activities. Whether Hasan fell through the cracks because it didn't occur to anyone that it would be counter productive to send someone like this to serve in a conflict that involves elements of radical Islam - or if the commanders who ordered to ship him off were well aware of what they were doing but did so anyway out of concern that it wouldn't be politically correct to act on the matter - the results were the same.

And the concern is the same. Are there other Maj. Nidal Malik Hasans privy to vital national security information Israel shares with America? Did other Maj. Nidal Malik Hasans participate in the recent Juniper Cobra defense exercise in Israel? Is another Maj. Nidal Malik Hasans briefing Israel's enemies about the operation? (IMRA)

- Surely those who promoted "political correctness" knew what their goals were to bring down the United States from its position as a powerful defender of democracy throughout the nation. Common sense is a small flickering light in the decisions of this nation.

Pray that the light emanating from America does not die. Pray that agencies will honestly and fully investigate this problem of Islamists capturint America. Ask the Lord to give wisdom to our leadership.

- "Therefore be careful to observe them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the peoples who will hear all these statutes, and say, 'Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.'" (Dt. 4:6)

1. CONGRESS HOLDS HEARING ON ENDA

LAWMAKERS CONSIDER SPECIAL RIGHTS FOR HOMOSEXUALS

The Senate held a hearing on the Employment Non- Discrimination Act (ENDA) last week. ENDA would enshrine special rights for homosexuals in the workplace, based on sexual orientation and gender.

- Please pray that ENDA disintegrates and that the heartfelt outcry against this horrific imposition on business and profession across this country will be heard loud and clear. Ask for a host of resourceful and outraged citizens to rise up and declare a victory in this matter, once and for all, with their voices, their abilities, and their vote. Would we not take a stand for our God and our childrens' sakes?

2. CAP-AND-TRADE: "BOXER'S REBELLION"

Senator Barbara Boxer (D- Calif.) has a reputation on Capitol Hill for being rather, well, nasty and disrespectful. That was clearly on display yesterday as she bucked Senate procedure and forced a vote in her Senate Environment and Public Works Committee on the cap and tax legislation that would likely raise taxes by over $3.6 trillion.

Declare and decree, all day and all night, that this administration will play by the rules and settle down, with common sense actions and rational thinking. Ask that God change their attitude or change their address. Intercede that these "rough riders" will no longer be allowed to make a mockery of our governing principles or be moved outside of bi-partisan dealings, with pressing, bogus, progressive, and wicked posturing.

3. CONGRESS TO CONSIDER CONTROVERSIAL JUDICIAL NOMINEE THIS WEEK

Nomination of Judge David Hamilton Reaches Senate Floor

The White House has characterized David Hamilton as too moderate a judge.

- Call upon our Lord God Almighty to intervene and to spare us from this man. May the Judge of the Universe sway the minds of our senators, so that only men or women who uphold the Constitution -- not their own political agenda -- would be placed on the judiciary.

- For the LORD is our Judge, The LORD is our Lawgiver, The LORD is our King, He will save us." (Isaiah 33:22)

4. UN GENERAL ASSEMBLY ENDORSES GOLDSTONE REPORT

The United Nations General Assembly formally voted to adopt the Goldstone Report on Thursday by a vote of 114-18, with 44 abstentions. Those voting against the resolution included Israel and the United States, as well as Italy, the Netherlands, Poland and the Czech Republic. However, the European Union vote was split, with Britain and France both choosing to abstain.

The Arab-sponsored resolution adopted by the 192- member body calls for action by the U.N. Security Council if the State of Israel and the Palestinian Authority do not within the next three months carry out "independent and credible" investigations into their own behavior during last winter's Operation Cast Lead.

The Goldstone Report harshly condemned Israel, accusing the Jewish State of committing war crimes and "possibly crimes against humanity" in Gaza during the course of the counterterrorist operation launched to put an end to eight years' of constant rocket fire aimed at southern Israeli communities from Gaza. The report also said that "armed militants" in Gaza may also have been guilty of committing war crimes as well. [This is a grave action taken by the UN as it condones Hamas terrorism while condemning Israel's self defense].

• Pray that no American voice will be raised to support this Goldstone Report. Notice that none of the Arab nations came to the defense of Israel, nor did they condemn the terrorist rocket attacks into Israel. Since even the smallest Moslem country has the same vote in the General Assembly of the UN as does the USA, they have probably decided that the UN is their weapon, but God holds the ultimate power.

5. CONGRESS REJECTS GOLDSTONE REPORT

US Shuns UN's Goldstone Discussion

The United States on Wednesday evening [November 4] decided not to speak at the United Nationals General Assembly [GA] discussion on the Goldstone Report, which accuses Israel of committing war crimes in Gaza. While dozens of countries sent their delegates to speak the Americans openly shunned it. US Ambassador to the UN Susan Rice did not even attend the discussion. Her deputy, Alejandro Wolff, entered the auditorium to listen to the addresses of the European Union [EU] representative and Israeli Ambassador Gabriela Shalev, and was later seen leaving the place.

In recent weeks, the Obama administration has been expressing its objection to the [UN] Human Rights Council's decision to have the General Assembly in New York discuss the report. The Americans expressed their anger at the Arab states' move, along with the non- aligned countries, to separate the discussion on the Goldstone Report from the annual meeting on the situation of human rights.

On Tuesday [November 3], the US House of Representatives rejected the Goldstone Report's conclusions with an overwhelming majority, calling the report "biased". (Bridges for Peace)

- Praise the Lord that the United States has taken a stand against this report; pray that the intention of the Arab states to use this document to slander the nation of Israel and further degrade her standing in the international community be exposed and brought to a swift end.

- "'You are my servant, I have chosen you"

6. HAMAS DENIES TESTING MISSILES

The Hamas movement on Thursday denied Zionist intelligence allegations that it recently successfully tested a missile that can reach the central Zionist city of Tel Aviv. Fawzi Barhoum, a Hamas spokesman, said the Zionist claim is "a pre-emptive step by the Zionist enemy to influence international opinion ahead of the General Assembly's discussion of the Goldstone report. This crisis has pushed the Zionist enemy to create these kinds of fabrications."

Abu Obadiah, the spokesman of Hamas' armed wing Ezzedeen Al-Qassam Brigades, said "We are not interested in responding to the Zionist intelligence allegations, they can say whatever they want. We cannot confirm, deny or clarify these statements," Abu Obadiah said in a statement posted in Al Qassam Website. (www.qassam.ps)

• Since Moslems believe that lying to infidels is perfectly acceptable, then we should give no credence to the words coming from Hamas. Pray that there are some voices that still believe in truthfulness who can contradict. Pray for the people who must live under the oppression of Hamas to be set free. While very few Israelis have been killed or even wounded by the rockets, more than enough anxiety has been endured. Pray for peace in the hearts of the Israelis and for alertness in their eyes and ears.

"Deliver my soul, O Lord, from lying lips And from a deceitful tongue." (Psalm 120:2)

7. IRAN TESTED ADVANCED NUCLEAR WARHEAD DESIGN

The UN's nuclear watchdog has asked Iran to explain evidence suggesting that Iranian scientists have experimented with an advanced nuclear warhead design, the Guardian has learned.

The very existence of the technology, known as a "two-point implosion" device, is officially secret in both the US and Britain, but according to previously unpublished documentation in a dossier compiled by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Iranian scientists may have tested high-explosive components of the design. The development was today described by nuclear experts as "breathtaking" and has added urgency to the effort to find a diplomatic solution to the Iranian nuclear crisis.

red, allows for the production of smaller and simpler warheads than older models. It reduces the diameter of a warhead and makes it easier to put a nuclear warhead on a missile.

- Ask the Lord to expose the actual work that Iran is executing in nuclear weaponry - exposure that cannot be denied nor expressed in lies. Although the Shi'ite leadership in Iran thinks it has deceived the world, it has only deceived itself.

The curse from God (Genesis 12:3) has already landed on Iran, so pray for the ordinary citizenry of Iran that they may escape God's judgment.

8. IRAN'S "OLIVE BRANCH" OF PEACE

Thus far in his presidency Barack Obama has tried repeatedly to reach out to the mullah's in Iran. Whether it's demanding Israel stop building settlements, or issuing weak statements regarding protestors dying in the streets of Tehran in the name of democracy, Barack Obama will do anything to gain Iran's favor, even at the expense of our greatest allies. This week, Iran responded to Obama's diplomatic outreach, and it came in the form of 320 tons of weapons being sent to Syria for Hezbollah to attack Israel.

The Israeli Navy announced Wednesday that it seized 320 tons of Katyushas (rockets used to hit Israeli cities on the border), shells, and bullets aboard the Francop, a European cargo ship that left Iranian ports headed to Syria. Deputy Israeli Navy commander Roni Ben- Yahuda said the ship carried "ten times as many weapons as the Karine A," a ship Israeli forces captured in the Red Sea in 2002.

The IDF believes the Iranian Revolutionary Guard is behind the shipment. Many of the crates contained rockets with markings similar to Iranian munitions and others resembling Chinese manufacturers. To get a better understanding of how large the shipment was, Hezbollah could effectively fight the IDF for over a month with the weapons aboard the Francop alone.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Wednesday: "Iran is sending these weapons to terror organizations to harm Israeli cities and kill its citizens. The time has come for the international community to exert real pressure on Iran to stop this criminal activity and support Israel when it defends itself against these terrorists and their patrons."

9. PRESIDENT ABBAS DOES NOT INTEND ON HOLDING JANUARY ELECTIONS

Representatives of the Egyptian Intelligence Agency and circles within the Fatah Movement have informed Palestinian faction leaders that President Mahmud Abbas, alias Abu-Mazin, does not intend on holding elections on 24 January next year, Asharq Al-Awsat has learned.

Palestinian sources quoted representatives of the Egyptian Intelligence Agency and Fatah Movement circles as saying that, by issuing a presidential decree to hold elections on that date, Abu-Mazin meant to pressure the Hamas Movement to accept the Egyptian reconciliation paper without amendment. The sources added that Abu-Mazin does not intend on holding elections in the West Bank alone. (aawsat.com)

• Sounds like confusion is dominating the discussions between Hamas and Egypt. Pray for a spreading of this confusion. There is no desire from Hamas to recognize Israel, and Egypt apparently does not want to work with Hamas. President Abbas also cannot work with Hamas, since he represents the Fatah Party. What a mess! But the Palestinian people must choose to work with God if they desire a better life for their children.

• "But the Lord is with me as a mighty, awesome One. Therefore my persecutors will stumble, and will not prevail. They will be greatly ashamed, for they will not prosper. Their everlasting confusion will never be forgotten." (Jeremiah 20:11)

10. DIVISIONS REMAIN AHEAD OF CLIMATE CHANGE CONFERENCE IN DENMARK

With a global conference on climate change fast approaching, deep divisions remain over how to tackle the problem, both on Capitol Hill and on the world stage.

In Washington, progress on climate change legislation is slow-moving. Republicans and Democrats in the Senate are still at odds over the energy bill the House narrowly passed in June. "This is not an energy bill. This is a cap-and-trade bill. This is a huge tax increase," said Sen. Jim Inhofe, R-Okla.

But even wider differences between the developed and developing world kept climate change negotiators from reaching an agreement Friday, in the last meeting before the December summit in Copenhagen. "It is obvious that we can't achieve the final result in Copenhagen in terms of a new legally binding treaty which goes into all details," Danish Prime Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen said. (Fox News)

- As the time draws nearer for this conference to convene in Copenhagen, and for the anticipated signing of this treaty, use the "weapons of our warfare" to see this come to nothing. Pray it down!!!!!

- "For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds . .
."

(2 Corinthians 10:4) "Take counsel together, but it will come to nothing; Speak the word, but it will not stand, For God is with us." (Isaiah 8:10)
