1. Iranian general suggests Saudi tragedies orchestrated by Israel - Times of Israel
The deputy chief of staff of the Iranian armed forces suggested Monday that the deadly Mecca crane collapse and hajj stampede were orchestrated by Israel and Saudi Arabia.
At least 107 people were killed and 238 injured when a crane collapsed on the Grand Mosque during a storm on September 11. The head of Saudi Arabia's civil defense directorate said high winds caused the incident, which also led to the death of a top Iranian scientist. Last week, over 700 people were trampled to death during the annual hajj pilgrimage in Mecca, including some 150 Iranian nationals. (Read more)
2. IDF launches air strikes in Gaza in response to rocket fire - Times of Israel
The Israeli Air Force carried out a series of air strikes in the Gaza Strip overnight Tuesday-Wednesday, in response to a rocket fired from the Palestinian enclave earlier which was shot down by the Iron Dome anti-missile system over the southern city of Ashdod.
The military said the IAF struck 4 "terror targets" inside Gaza. At least two of the targets belong to Hamas, according to Palestinian sources who spoke to Ynet. (Read more)
- Father, we lift up all of Israel to You. Please send Your angels of protection to surround the borders and keep them from harm. We thank You that Israel has the Iron Dome and ask for Your protection over it, and the entire IDF. Father, give them wisdom, and let them be aware of the enemy's plans before they happen. In the name of Yeshua, amen.
3. Israel to Use Administrative Detention on Temple Mount Rioters - Israel National News
Among the steps Israel plans to take to curb Arab violence on the Temple Mount is increasing its use of administrative detention against rioters.
According to a report on Channel Two Monday, security officials have determined that the main body of rioters consists of 30 to 50 "professionals" who spend many hours on the Temple Mount, organizing riots and unrest, and inciting children and teenagers to throw stones and firebombs at police.
Until now, officials have relied mostly on restraining orders to distance rioters from the site. However, although they cannot enter the Temple Mount compound, they can infiltrate the area and exacerbate tensions among Arabs, setting off more riots. If they are locked up, officials hope that the rioters will no longer be able to incite riots. (Read more)
4. Leading Rabbi: Time for Synagogue on Temple Mount - Israel National News
Rabbi Nahum Eliezer Rabinowitz, Head of the Maaleh Adumim Hesder Yeshiva and a leading Zionist rabbi, spoke Tuesday in favor of constructing a synagogue on the Temple Mount. "A synagogue should be planned and built in the permitted zone," he said, referring to the area of the Temple Mount where post-Second Temple rabbinical teachings allow Jews to tread, and noting that a synagogue already stood there in the past. "There once was a synagogue at the edge of the area where the Temple stood, and the Rambam [Maimonides] wrote that he visited it and prayed there, and there is testimony to that effect from all generations. This is something that should be renewed." (Read more)
5. Palestinians clash with Israeli forces in West Bank amid Jerusalem holy site tensions - US News
RAMALLAH, West Bank (AP) - Palestinian demonstrators clashed with Israeli troops across the West Bank on Tuesday, while three tourists were lightly wounded by Palestinian stone throwers as tensions remained high following days of violence at Jerusalem's most sensitive holy site.
The hilltop compound, revered by Jews as the Temple Mount and by Muslims as the Noble Sanctuary, was largely quiet Tuesday. About 600 tourists and 100 Israelis visited the site without serious incident. Israel has barred Muslim men under the age of 50 from entering the compound in recent days in a move it says is aimed at easing tensions.
The site has experienced repeated clashes over the past two weeks as Palestinian protesters barricaded themselves inside the Al-Aqsa Mosque while hurling stones, firebombs and fireworks at Israeli police outside.(Read more)
6. World Bank Blames Israel, Egypt for Lack of PA-Gaza Growth - Israel National News
The World Bank warned of the "high risk" of renewed Israel-Palestinian conflict if the political and economic status quo between the two sides persists, in a report released Tuesday.
"The persistence of this situation could potentially lead to political and social unrest," it said. "In short, the status quo is not sustainable and downside risks of further conflict and social unrest are high."
The percentage of the population living under the poverty line has reached 39 percent in Gaza and 16 percent in the Palestinian Authority (PA). (Read more)
7. Netanyahu heading to the UN: "I have the responsibility of telling the world the truth" - Jerusalem Online
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu took off earlier this afternoon (Tuesday) to the United States, where he intends to address the United Nations General Assembly on Thursday and hold a series of meetings with world leaders.
During his visit to the United States, Netanyahu will meet with US Secretary of State John Kerry, as well as with UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon. With both, Netanyahu is expected to discuss the peace process and the political tension over the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. "The Palestinians continue to spread crude lies about our policy on the Temple Mount and I will demand an end to this wild incitement," Netanyahu said while speaking to reporters at Ben-Gurion airport. 1. Russia begins Syria airstrikes, demands US warplanes keep out - Fox News
Russia claims its warplanes are bombarding Islamic State positions in Syria's war-torn northern regions, but a senior U.S. defense official tells Fox News that the strikes are actually hitting the Free Syrian Army and other forces against President Bashar Assad, adding that there is no presence of ISIS in those areas.
Russian warplanes began bombarding Syrian opposition targets in the war-torn nation's north Wednesday, following a terse meeting at which a Russian general asked Pentagon officials to clear out of Syrian air space and was rebuffed, Fox News has learned.
A U.S. official said Russian airstrikes targeted fighters in the vicinity of Homs, located roughly 60 miles east of a Russian naval facility in Tartus, and were carried out by a "couple" of Russian bombers. The strikes hit targets in Homs and Hama, but there is no presence of ISIS in those areas, a senior U.S. defense official said. These planes are hitting areas where Free Syrian Army and other anti-Assad groups are located, the official said.
The development came after Pentagon officials . . . brushed aside an official request, or "demarche," from Russia to clear air space over northern Syria, where Moscow said it intended to conduct airstrikes against ISIS on behalf of Assad, according to sources who spoke to Fox News. The request was made in a heated discussion between a Russian three-star general and U.S. officials at the American Embassy in Baghdad, sources said.
"If you have forces in the area we request they leave," said the general, who used the word "please" in the contentious encounter.(Read more)
- Lord God, this day has finally arrived. Lord, we ask in repentance that You send Your holy, warring angels to do battle for us and for Israel, causing the enemy to stand down. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, amen and amen.
- "He delivered me from my strong enemy, And from those who hated me, for they were too mighty for me. They confronted me in the day of my calamity, But the Lord was my stay." (Psalm 18:17,18)
2. Russia's Syria expedition: Why now and what's next? - CNN
. . . why would Russia want to become involved in the Syrian imbroglio -- a conflict which has confounded everyone who has tried to influence it? Is it to defend an ally, al-Assad, and force the West to talk with him? To protect its own access to the Mediterranean? As part of a deal with Iran to tip the balance against Sunni rebel groups? Because it wants to join the international coalition against ISIS? Or -- as one commentator puts it colorfully -- to "stick it to the United States"?
The U.S. says it's watching closely. Defense Secretary Ash Carter told CNN's Barbara Starr on Thursday: "It's a matter of seeing what the Russians do."
But he implied they were there to help the Assad regime, adding: "If it's a matter of pouring gasoline on the civil war in Syria, that is certainly not productive from our point of view." (Read more)
- Lord, as men try to understand what is happening now with Russia inside Syria, we turn to You, Holy One, for only You are omniscient. We ask that You would grant Your wisdom to our leaders, that they will know how to respond to these airstrikes. Lord God, we leave this matter in Your hands, in the name of Jesus Christ we pray, amen and amen.

3. Hearings on Defunding Planned Parenthood Begin - Breaking Christian News
Hearings on Defunding Planned Parenthood Begin - Breaking Christian News (Washington, DC)-On Tuesday, hearings began, by the U.S. House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, to investigate the claims that Planned Parenthood (PP) is trafficking the body parts of aborted babies, and to possibly stop federal funding of the abortion giant.
According to a Fox News report, a forensic analysis was performed on the undercover videos released over the summer by the Center for Medical Progress, which revealed incriminating evidence of PP's alleged activities. The analysis found that the full videos (available online) "are authentic and show no evidence of manipulation or editing," refuting PP's accusations that they were "heavily doctored."
ADF Senior Counsel Casey Mattox reportedly said in a statement: "The Coalfire forensic analysis removes any doubt that the full length undercover videos released by Center for Medical Progress are authentic and have not been manipulated. Planned Parenthood President, Cecile Richards defended her organization during Tuesday's hearing, while several pro-abortion rallies were held around the country.
A measure was previously passed in the House to stop federal funding of PP and send those funds to community health centers instead, but it was stopped in the Senate by Democrats before it could come up for a vote. (Read more)
- Abba Father, we give You praise that these Planned Parenthood (PP) videos have not been tampered with, and they are telling the truth, the whole truth about what is happening at PP . Thank you Lord for exposing the hidden things going on at PP. We ask Lord that this news be shouted from the roof tops of all media stations. In His Name, Amen.
- "For He has not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; Nor has He hidden His face from him; But when he cried to Him for help, He heard."
(Psalm 22:24)
4. GOP unloads on Planned Parenthood executive - The Hill
Republicans battled with the chief of Planned Parenthood at a marathon hearing on Tuesday that was dominated by highly charged exchanges over undercover videos that suggested the group was selling fetal tissue. Planned Parenthood President and CEO Cecile Richards forcefully defended the group, arguing in her first public Capitol Hill appearance that the videos were deceptively edited and allegations of wrongdoing were "offensive and categorically untrue."
Sitting alone at the witness stand, Richards faced a barrage of attacks from nearly two-dozen Republican lawmakers over five hours. The GOP, led by Oversight Committee Chairman Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah), piled on attacks, pressing arguments that Planned Parenthood has been caught in illegal activity involving the donation of fetal tissue for medical research.
"It seemed to me that your apology was like what some criminals do. They're not really sorry for what they've done, they're sorry they got caught. It seems to be your apology is because you got caught," Rep. John Duncan Jr. (R-Tenn.) told Richards in front of the standing-room only hearing. (Read more)
- Abba Father, we thank You for this Oversight Committee's strong interrogation of PP President Cecile Richards. We thank You that they represented You yesterday in Congress. Lord, we pray that she will be defeated, and that PP will no longer be funded with our taxpayer money. We pray that her lies will be exposed for all to hear. Lord, we pray that her testimony will be in the headlines along with the news that the videos are authentic. In His Name we pray, Amen.
- "But the Spirit explicitly says that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons, by means of the hypocrisy of liars seared in their own conscience as with a branding iron."

5. Obama Warns Christians: Gay Rights More Important Than Religious Freedom - Breitbart
As Pope Francis flew back to Rome, President Obama issued a stern warning to Christians, warning them their attempts to assert their religious liberty to oppose gay rights would fail. "We affirm that we cherish our religious freedom and are profoundly respectful of religious traditions," he insisted during a dramatic speech at a LGTB fundraiser in New York City on Sunday night, praising the progress made on gay rights under his administration. "But we also have to say clearly that our religious freedom doesn't grant us the freedom to deny our fellow Americans their constitutional rights." The fundraiser for the Democratic National Committee was specifically billed as an "LGBT gala" held in New York City in coordination with Obama's trip to the United Nations Assembly. During his speech, Obama asserted that his administration was respecting what he described as "genuine concerns" of religious institutions but suggested that Republicans were using the issue just to earn more votes, as they did in 2004. "America has left the leaders of the Republican Party behind," he declared proudly. (Read more)
- Father, we ask that this news be broadcast across the land, so that Christians will understand that it is truly the time to stand against this pressure. We thank You, Lord, that You do promise to keep us under the shelter of Your wing, even as You deal with our enemies for us. We pray this in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, amen and amen.
- "For You save an afflicted people, But haughty eyes You abase." (Psalm 18:27)
6. Pope Met Privately with Kim Davis: 'Stay Strong' - Newsmax
Pope Francis met privately with Kim Davis, the Kentucky county clerk who has refused to issue marriage licenses to gay couples, and encouraged her to "stay strong," according to a press release from Liberty Counsel, which is representing Davis. The meeting occurred during the pontiff's visit to Washington, D.C. on September 24, and took place at the Vatican Embassy.
"Thank you for your courage. Stay strong," Francis told Davis, as he held out his hands and asked her to pray for him. Davis held his hands and said, "I will. Please pray for me." The two then embraced.
"I was humbled to meet Pope Francis. Of all people, why me?" Davis said. "I never thought I would meet the pope. Who am I to have this rare opportunity? I am just a county clerk who loves Jesus and desires with all my heart to serve him." Pope Francis was "kind, genuinely caring and very personable," Davis said.
Francis met with Davis and her husband, Joe, speaking to them in English and presenting them with two rosaries he had blessed. Davis' parents are Catholic and she plans to give the rosaries to them. (Read more)
- Father, we thank You that Pope Francis has now joined with many, many others to encourage Kim Davis to "stay strong." We thank You, Lord, that Kim has chosen to give the gift of the rosary beads to her mother, who is Catholic. In the name of Jesus, amen.
- "Having done all, stand." (Ephesians 6:13)
7. House GOP holds post-Boehner 'therapy session' - The Hill
Four days after Speaker John Boehner said he was quitting, House Republicans gathered for a family "therapy session" Tuesday night to try to talk through some of the underlying problems that forced the Ohio Republican out in the first place. The members-only gathering in a room in the Capitol's basement came amid an all-out scramble by candidates running for Speaker and other possible vacancies on the leadership team.
"The point of this meeting was for members to take a step back and have the people running for leadership positions listen to what the membership has to say about the direction of our conference," Rep. Frank Guinta (R-N.H.) told The Hill. "Members got an opportunity to communicate what has transpired in the past that has been faulty in the conference," he added, "and what we can do to move forward in a more cohesive, strong and positive way." (Read more)
- Abba Father, we thank You that the Republican members of the House of Representatives have met to discuss the differences between the Moderates and the Tea Party Conservatives. We pray that they will meet again and iron out their differences. We pray that the Republicans can go out with a united front to take on the liberals in Congress. In His name we pray, Amen.
- "Behold, how good and how pleasant it is For brothers to dwell together in unity!" (Psalm 133:1) - Father, we ask You to grant us the same courage given to Peter Muhlenberg, as follows. Amen.
January 21, 1776 in the Lutheran church in Woodstock, Virginia, Reverend Muhlenberg took his sermon text from the third chapter Ecclesiastes, which starts with "To every thing there is a season . . ."; after reading the eighth verse, "a time of war, and a time of peace," he declared, "And this is the time of war," removing his clerical robe to reveal his Colonel's uniform. Outside the church door the drums began to roll as men turned to kiss their wives and then walked down the aisle to enlist, and within half an hour, 162 men were enrolled. (Wikipedia)
8. Obama affirmed radical U.N. agenda in lesser-known speech - WND
President Obama's speech to the opening session of the United Nations' 70th General Assembly on Monday drew considerable attention, but most Americans likely were unaware of a speech he gave the previous day to the same world body in which he affirmed America's commitment to a controversial, utopian plan to "transform" the world.
As many focused on week three of the National Football League season Sunday, Obama spoke with little fanfare to the closing session of the United Nations Sustainable Development Summit that was convened Sept. 25-27 as a high-level plenary meeting of the General Assembly.
The U.S. and the 192 other U.N. members unanimously adopted the "2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development," a plan to "end poverty, fight inequality and injustice, and tackle climate change by 2030." It's a plan some critics call a "blueprint for global governance." (Read more)
- Father, we thank You for the watchmen who have been carefully studying Agenda 2030 and have concluded that this document is, indeed, a plan to bring us all under a system of "global governance." Abba, only You are the King of the Nations, so we appeal to You to tear this scheme down and to help us to maintain the liberty with which You have set us free. We ask this in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ, amen and amen.
- "Who would not fear You, O King of the nations? Indeed it is Your due! For among all the wise men of the nations And in all their kingdoms, There is none like You."
(Jer. 10:7)
9. President Obama and Raul Castro Meet on US Soil - ABC News
For the first time in more than 60 years, a U.S. president has met with a Cuban president on U.S. soil.
President Obama sat down with President Raul Castro on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York City today. At Obama's side were Secretary of State John Kerry, National Security Adviser Susan Rice and U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Samantha Power, in addition to other aides.
The two leaders have met before, but today's meeting marks the first time the heads of state of both countries have met on U.S. soil since the Cuban revolution. (Read more)
- Abba Father, we ask that Your will be done in Cuba. We ask for freedom of religion, freedom of the press, and freedom of speech for Cuba. We ask that all Cubans in Cuba would be treated with dignity, and that political prisoners would be freed. We ask that once again that You would be Lord over Cuba and the Cuban people. We pray that the Gospel of Jesus Christ spreads across Cuba, and that all Cubans will come to salvation in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ. In His Name we pray, Amen
- "And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved." (Acts 4:12)
10. US failing to stop most Americans trying to join ISIS, House study says - Fox News
A congressional study released Tuesday said the Obama administration has largely failed to stop more than 250 Americans who have traveled overseas since 2011 to join -- or try to join -- terror groups including the Islamic State, describing the flow of fighters as the largest global convergence of jihadists in history.
Republicans and Democrats on the House Homeland Security Committee conducted an extensive six-month review to assess the severity of the threat from those leaving home to join jihadist groups and to identify potential security gaps.
"It is clear that our nation faces a grave and growing threat from foreign fighters," Chairman Michael McCaul, R-Texas, said in a statement. "Sadly, global efforts have failed to stop the flow of these aspiring jihadists into Syria, and we have already seen 'returnees' from the conflict zone come home to America and Europe and plot acts of terror. Even more, those still on the battlefield are radicalizing their peers online and inciting them to launch homegrown attacks."
According to the final report, of the hundreds of Americans who have sought to travel to Syria and Iraq, authorities have only interdicted a fraction of them. (Read more)
- Abba Father, first we want to thank You that this report is a bipartisan effort and that both Republicans and Democrats are working together to solve this problem. Abba, we ask that You would give wisdom, knowledge and understanding to this Task Force so that they can stop the flow of Americans joining ISIS. We pray for a national strategy to stem this influx of Islamic terrorists. Abba, we pray that You would allow Europeans and Americans to join together in their efforts to stop this flow of emigrants from our allied nations from going through Turkey to join ISIS. And finally, Lord, we ask that Turkey would be emboldened to work with us stop this flow of jihadists through its land. In His Name we pray, Amen.
- "And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose." (Romans 8:28)

A matter of prophecy and national defense
The UK's Daily Express is quoting from a book written by German reporter Jurgen Todenhofer who successfully embedded himself with the Islamic State (IS) that says nuclear annihilation across the globe is the goal. In his book "Inside IS--Ten Days in the Islamic State," Todenhofer claims "The terrorists plan on killing several hundred million people. The west is drastically underestimating the power of ISIS. ISIS intends to get its hands on nuclear weapons," calling the group a "nuclear tsunami preparing the largest religious cleansing in history." The US "president's" capitulation to Iran's nuclear program may trigger a nuclear arms race that gives IS a great advantage in obtaining nuclear weapons.
Todenhofer says, "They (IS) now control land greater in size than the United Kingdom and are supported by an almost ecstatic enthusiasm the like of which I've never encountered before in a war zone. Every day hundreds of willing fighters from all over the world come. They are the most brutal and most dangerous enemy I have ever seen in my life. I don't see anyone who has a real chance to stop them. Only Arabs can stop IS. I came back very pessimistic." The Washington Post reports that with more countries obtaining nukes, the greater the possibility terrorists could obtain the weapon. Certainly, targets for such acquisition already include an unstable Pakistan and it is also possible Iran could side with IS.
All the brainiacs in foreign policy analysis say that the Sunnis and the Shiites will not work together. Don't believe it. They hate America and Israel more than they hate each other. Former Pennsylvania Republican Congressman Curt Weldon documents in his book "Countdown to Terror" a "Committee of Nine" which is an elite coordinating committee of terrorist organizations such as al Qaeda, Hizbollah, Islamic Jihad and others who partner with the Muslim Brotherhood in sponsoring terrorism worldwide. The committee is headed by Iran's Ayatollah Khameni, according to Weldon's sources. From Persia, we can see that Islam is moving on the rest of the world by colonization, terrorism, and by political means.
Despite warnings from Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and various others who understand the true motives of Islamists throughout the world, the US "president" has pursued negotiations with Iran that will permit the coordinator of world terrorism to obtain nuclear weapons. The American leadership is paving the way for persecution of Christians and Jews and the escalation of a new Islamic order. Isaiah 59:8 says, "The way of peace they know not; and there is no judgment in their goings: they have made them crooked paths: whosoever goeth therein shall not know peace." Islam will only be emboldened by the unwise actions of the American leadership. Ezekiel 7:25 says, "Destruction comes; and they shall seek peace and there shall be none." It is a threat to world stability and the national security of the US and Israel.
Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

Russia 'Gave Israel Advanced Warning of Syria Airstrikes'
After meeting between Putin and Netanyahu to avoid accidental run-ins, Israel's National Security Adviser notified of airstrikes
Russia informed Israel in advance of its airstrikes in Syria, multiple intelligence sources have said, underlining the coordination between the two countries over the Syrian crisis, following Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's recent trip to the Kremlin to discuss Russia's massive troop buildup.
The Russian air force conducted its first airstrikes in Syria, as part of an operation it claims is aimed at fighting the ISIS terrorist group. However, the location of the strikes - in rebel-held Homs and Hamas - suggest the campaign is in fact aimed at fighting other groups seeking to overthrow embattled dictator Bashar al-Assad.
US officials have already confirmed that Russia gave them an hour's notice of the strikes, but an Israeli military source told Arutz Sheva that Israel, too, had been notified in advance, via a mechanism reached between Jerusalem and Moscow during Netanyahu's recent meeting with Putin.
That arrangement was reached after Putin acknowledged Israel's vital security interests in Syria, and agreed to coordinate his own country's efforts there with the Israeli government to avoid any accidental clashes between the two.
National Security Adviser Yossi Cohen was also notified an hour in advance, the source said. (Breaking Christian News) Read more.

More about that Blood Moon:
Blood Moon Over Jerusalem: The God of Israel Speaks from the Heavens
By Christine Darg, Jerusalem Channel
Our Moveable Feast of Tabernacles celebration in Jerusalem's Old City began early this morning with a spectacular heavenly display of the super blood moon in the western sky just before sunrise.
. . . Not ever having seen a total lunar eclipse, many of us were awed by the God of wonder this morning as we watched the spectacle of the eclipse from beginning to end, and as we meditated upon Jeremiah 31 which proclaims:
"Thus says the Lord,
Who gives the sun for light by day
And the fixed order of the moon and the stars for light by night,
Who stirs up the sea so that its waves roar;
The Lord of hosts is His name:
"If this fixed order departs From before Me," declares the Lord,
"Then the offspring of Israel also will cease
From being a nation before Me forever." (Jer. 31:35,36)
And THAT IS the word of the Lord to Iran, to ISIS, to the enemies of Israel, to the BDS (boycott-divestment-sanctions) anti-Semitic movement and to all who hate the God of Israel! (Read more)

"The lunar eclipse was in totality for WAY longer than predicted. What a privilege to be 20 floors up in the Jerusalem prayer tower to watch it unfold over 3 hours with 17 other people!" - Kathleen
"AWESOME BLOOD MOON OVER Jerusalem this morning! We had front row seat from our 7th floor balcony! Clouds came and we prayed them away! Prayed and prophesied from about 3:30-6:00 over the city and land! Saw Orion directly overhead . . . For such a time as this!" - Barbara

Songs Our Grandmothers Sang:
SHALL WE GATHER AT THE RIVER?
"A pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb." (Revelation 22:1-2)
Lyrics
Shall we gather at the river,
Where bright angel feet have trod,
With its crystal tide forever
Flowing by the throne of God?
Refrain
Yes, we'll gather at the river,
The beautiful, the beautiful river;
Gather with the saints at the river
That flows by the throne of God.
On the margin of the river,
Washing up its silver spray,
We will talk and worship ever,
All the happy golden day.
Refrain
Ere we reach the shining river,
Lay we every burden down;
Grace our spirits will deliver,
And provide a robe and crown.
Refrain
At the smiling of the river,
Mirror of the Savior's face,
Saints, whom death will never sever,
Lift their songs of saving grace.
Refrain
Soon we'll reach the silver river,
Soon our pilgrimage will cease;
Soon our happy hearts will quiver
With the melody of peace. Refrain

Words and Music: Robert Lowry, 1864
One afternoon in July, 1864, when I was pastor at Hanson Place Baptist Church, Brooklyn, the weather was oppressively hot, and I was lying on a lounge in a state of physical exhaustion . . . My imagination began to take itself wings. Visions of the future passed before me with startling vividness. The imagery of the apocalypse took the form of a tableau. Brightest of all were the throne, the heavenly river, and the gathering of the saints . . . I began to wonder why the hymn writers had said so much about the "river of death" and so little about the "pure water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and the Lamb." As I mused, the words began to construct themselves. They came first as a question of Christian inquiry, "Shall we gather?" Then they broke in chorus, "Yes, we'll gather." On this question and answer the hymn developed itself. The music came with the hymn.
Part of this hymn was sung in the Academy Award winning movie, Trip to Bountiful (1985). It was also sung at the funeral of American Supreme Court Justice William O. Douglas.

More than a dozen mysterious carved discs found near Volgograd, Russia
A team of investigators in Russia have found more than a dozen stone discs in the Volgograd region of Russia including one measuring four-meters in diameter. The team claims that the discs contain tungsten, a high density metal that has applications in military technology. The nature of the discs remain a mystery.
Russian news site Bloknot Volgograd reports that the finding was made by the Russian UFOlogy and Crytozoology group Kosmopoisk, led by Vadim Chernobrov, during excavations in the Zhirnovsky district of the Volgograd region. The UFO hunters were investigating in the region due its fame for the occurrence of 'mystical phenomena'.
While the team had previously discovered more than a dozen disc-shaped stones, the recent finding of a stone measuring 4-meters in diameter was a first.
"We already found a dozen of these discs of not more than one meter in diameter and in Kuzbass a disc of about two meters in diameter, but this four-meter disc is really unique." Chernobrov told Bloknot Volgograd.
"The shape of the four-meter stone disc, which resembles the popular image of a flying saucer, has let the imagination of the conspiracy theorists fly," reports International Business Times. "Scott Waring of UFO Sightings Daily thinks this is proof that aliens exist and claims the disc is made of tungsten. Tungsten is also known as wolfram, and is used in special military technology."
The UFO investigation team has made lavish claims about the stone discs, stating that they could be about a million years old, and maintaining that they are most probably military drones that were damaged in an attack on Mars before falling to Earth.
Fortunately, scientists at the Zhirnovsky museum are taking a more rational approach and are studying the 4-meter wide stone disc to determine its age and material. Some skeptics also believe that the rocks were not even man-made but are simply the result of ordinary rocks shaped by erosion.
Earlier this year, another disc-shaped stone object was discovered in Russia by a coal mining company, this time in Siberia's Kuznetsk Basin. The strange relic was found 40 meters underground, which suggests it is quite old. Archaeologists who examined the stone disc, which is perfectly circular with a diameter of 1.2 meters, stated that it was man-made.
The recently discovered stone disc measuring four-meters in diameter is currently on display at the Zhirnovsky museum, where it is undergoing further testing. (Ancientorigins.net) Read more.

And from that, a thriving Chinese ministry exists today. As reported in The Christian Chronicle, recently 170 Chinese converts attended a recent homecoming hosted by the church, "to pray and worship in their native language, enjoy steaming piles of boiled crawfish and celebrate the place where their faith began."
Said one convert, Erhai Liang, who had moved to Baton Rouge with his wife to pursue a doctorate at LSU, "When I came here, we were all so helpless. The language was difficult, and we didn't know how things worked here." Then, they were invited to a worship service by a fellow classmate, Doug Traylor. "We went to church," said Liang, "and immediately we met brothers and sisters here who treated us a family." Liang's wife, Weiping, agreed. Noting that she barely spoke a word of English, she added, "What touched my heart was. . .
