"Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice." (John 18:37)

The Daily Brief

1. Nebraska Nuclear Plant: Surrounded by Flood Waters - WOWT.com
(Omaha, Nebraska)

The Ft. Calhoun Nuclear Facility is an island right now but it is one that authorities say is going to stay dry. They say they have a number of redundant features to protect the facility from flood waters that include the aqua dam, earthen berms and sandbags. From the air the nuclear plant looks like it is about to be swallowed up by the Missouri River but on the ground you can see that man is controlling nature, or at least keeping her in check. Read more.

- Although the flooding throughout the upper Midwest is no longer in the headlines, the Missouri River is still out of control, and untold damage is being wrought to our people, and our farmland, in that region. Continue to pray for the people of Nebraska, North and South Dakota, and Montana, that they would find grace to help in time of need. Our God is a God of mercy; may we find Him to be merciful to our people now. In His Name, amen.

- Then Moses said, "Now show me your glory." And the LORD said, "I will cause all my goodness to pass in front of you, and I will proclaim my name, the LORD, in your presence. I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. (Exodus 33:18,19)

2. Giffords to Visit Hometown of Tucson - Fox News

Rep. Gabrielle Giffords' staff said Friday that the Arizona congresswoman will visit Tucson for Father's Day weekend in her first time back to her hometown since she was shot in January. "We've been dreaming of this trip for some time," said Giffords' astronaut husband Mark Kelly in a news release. "Gabby misses Tucson very much and her doctors have said that returning to her hometown could play an important role in her recovery." He said the trip "is sure to be very emotional" and hopes the news media respects their privacy. Read more.

- Offer praise for another good report for Rep. Gabrielle Giffords. May the public respect her need for privacy as she continues to heal.

- "Let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord!" (Psalm 150:6)

3. NSA allies with Internet carriers to thwart cyber attacks against defense firms - Washington Post

The National Security Agency is working with Internet service providers to deploy a new generation of tools to scan e-mail and other digital traffic with the goal of thwarting cyberattacks against defense firms by foreign adversaries, senior defense and industry officials say.

- LORD, we ask for wisdom for the National Security Agency, according to Your Word, as to how they proceed with this task, and the integrity of heart to do what's needed, while protecting the innocent. We pray the enemies who wish to do us harm would be exposed and their plans come to nothing.

"In righteousness you will be established: Tyranny will be far from you; you will have nothing to fear. Terror will be far removed; it will not come near you." (Isaiah 54:14)

4. China military paper urges steps against U.S. cyber war threat - Reuters

China must boost its cyber-warfare strength to counter a Pentagon push, the country's top military newspaper said on Thursday after weeks of friction over accusations that Beijing may have launched a string of Internet hacking attacks.

- Father, we ask You to thwart any plans of the enemy to come against our nation, whether it be through "cyberspace" or conventional weapons. May their efforts be frustrated and come to nothing. You are our Hiding Place, our Rock and our Shelter.

- "No weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and this is their vindication from Me, declares the LORD." (Isaiah 54:17)

5. Chinese president arrives in Moscow to boost cooperation - China's People Daily

Chinese President Hu Jintao arrives in Moscow, Russia, June 15, 2011. Hu Jintao arrived in Moscow Wednesday for a state visit to Russia to deepen pragmatic cooperation between China and Russia. He will attend the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum during visit.

- Father, we know that in the last days, these two nations will come against your people and have an unholy alliance. We ask, that even in their talks now, that you would "intercept" the plans of the evil one from enabling them to bring havoc to our nation, and to the nation of Israel. Lord, we ask you to convict them, and prick their consciences in an effort to turn them to you, the only true GOD!

- "Why do the nations rage, and the people plot a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves; And the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD and against His Anointed. . ." (Psalm 2:1,2)

6. Syrian rebels call for new wave of protests in Arab capitals - UK Telegraph

Syrian opposition groups are planning to ignite a new wave of protests in Arab capitals to push President Bashir al-Assad from power by harnessing international anger at the state's brutal attack on demonstrators.

- Father, we bring this whole "Arab Spring" syndrome to You. We pray that You will reveal the hidden things, and expose the "father of lies" as he tries to make the world believe these nations are forsaking dictatorships, rather than simply exchanging one dictator for another, and often a more violent and evil one than the former ones. We pray these nations will turn to you, the One Who is Truth, and then the Truth (You) will truly set them free!

- "For whatever is hidden is meant to be disclosed, and whatever is concealed is meant to be brought out into the open." (Mark 4:22)

7. U.S. envoys return to Mideast in bid to renew Israeli-Palestinian talks - Ha'aretz

First big challenge for Dennis Ross and David Hale is to entice Palestinians away from their bid for unilateral recognition of a Palestinian state at the UN. Read more.

- Father, first of all we repent on behalf of our nation's leaders, trying to push a "false peace" on Israel in trying to force a return to the indefensible borders of 1967, which would certainly be "suicide". Lord, we thank You that You do hold the hearts of the kings in Your hands, and You turn them the way You want them to go. We ask that PM Netanyahu will remain firm in his opposition to those terms, and we ask for a "change of heart" for our Secretary of State and this president. May even our envoys see the futility in pursuing this path, and convey that to the ones to whom they report. May You be glorified!

- " The king's heart is in the hand of the LORD, Like the rivers of water; He turns it wherever He wishes. Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, But the LORD weighs the hearts." (Proverbs 21:1,2)

The Daily Jot

What's it going to take?

The Congress and the White House are locking horns over the audacity of the president reporting to Congress that the United States is not involved in hostilities in Libya. Even deeper is seemingly overwhelming evidence that the White House is funding Libyan rebels with ties to al Qaeda and the Muslim Brotherhood, a terrorist sponsoring group wishing to overthrow the United States with "Civilization Jihad," is now a foreign policy partner. Peeling back the layers of deception on this political onion reveals an undeniable trend that this White House is supporting the advancement of radical Islam through its Middle East "reform" policy, which is a threat to national security--a genuine Constitutional crisis.

Last week, my son Christian had dinner with House Speaker John Boehner. It's part of the Ashbrook Center for Public Affairs at Ashland University where my son participates as an Ashbrook Scholar. Christian was all fired up that Congressman Boehner was going to take on the president with respect to the illegal and unethical war in Libya. But Christian has also lamented that so very few of his generation even know that we are in a war in Libya. He says that so many of his contemporaries are more concerned about partying, playing video games, and hanging out, that they could care less about the direction their country is taking. He believes it poses an extraordinary challenge for future leaders.

Another leadership vacuum...On one end of the spectrum, the church is busy laying hands on people and prophesying about how many great things they are going to be doing, jobs they are going to have, wealth they are going to accumulate and on and on. On the other end of the spectrum, the church is busy sitting in its pews on Sundays, listening to another boring sermon, looking at their watches and eager to get it over with. In between are the workers busy doing a lot and getting nothing done. There is a small, and I believe it to be very small, remnant that is concerned about the very salvation of their neighbors and the soul of their nation. They are trying really hard to do what is right in the eyes of God.

I remember the Vietnam War era where the communists organized gullible young people into massive protest forces against war. Are communists the only ones that organize war protests? Can it be that good people, with solid morals, who know right from wrong, and strive to do the right thing, just do not want to put their foot down and draw a line in the sand? Is it going to take our sons or grandsons being killed in the vain support of a disguised Islamic Caliphate before we act? You see, this is not just about America, its about the advance of a principality of darkness manifest in the physical. Romans 13:12 says, "The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light."

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

Incident at the Pentagon

Today's Incident at the Pentagon: Marine reservist detained in Pentagon scare
An Ethiopian-born man, in custody for carrying a backpack with "suspicious items and products" inside Arlington National Cemetery overnight, is a U.S. Marine Corps reservist.

Yonathan Melaku, 22, of Alexandria, Va., was arrested Friday morning on suspicion of trespassing after he was found inside Arlington Cemetery overnight when the cemetery was closed, carrying "items which caused initial concerns about the public's safety," the FBI said in a written statement.
Melaku, a Marine Corps reservist lance corporal who is Muslim, remains in the custody of the United States Park Police. No charges have currently been filed against Melaku, who is believed to have acted alone. Sources close to the investigation told Fox News that a notebook believed to belong to the man was also found containing threatening phrases like "Al Qaeda," "Taliban rule" and "defeated coalition forces." Authorities have not confirmed publicly that the notebook was found, saying only that the investigation is onging. Read more. (Sources: Fox News; WTOP News)

- Offer praise that this young man was found and is being detained. Stand in agreement that every hidden thing about this incident would be revealed to the proper authorities, and offer praise that no one was hurt in today's scare.

We understand that the government is now on high alert due to a recent video released by Al Qaeda. As watchmen on the wall, let's all join in a higher level of alert, too, for the weapons of our warfare are mighty, indeed!

Finally, cry out for the soul of Yonathan Melaku, that he might be delivered out of the darkness of the world of Islam to the glorious light of our Savior. Pray!

- "From that day on, half of my men did the work, while the other half were equipped with spears, shields, bows and armor. . . . Those who carried materials did their work with one hand and held a weapon in the other, and each of the builders wore his sword at his side as he worked." (Nehemiah 4:16-18)

The Good News Corner:

Students Bringing Nation to the "Brink of True Revival"

InterVarsity Christian Fellowship evangelist York Moore believes the United States is on the brink of true revival. "Revival, if it's of God, will move out into culture to revitalize and renew the institutions of society," said Moore.

"When people begin to pray for revival," he added, "when they begin to seek revival, when they become dissatisfied with where they are, those are all hallmark indicators both of historic as well as Biblical revivals."

As reported in Mission Network News, the interesting thing is: no one seems to be telling all these groups to pray for revival. They're all just burning for change independently.

Concluded Moore: "When we begin to see women and men praying for a greater work of God, when we begin to see them desiring a greater work of God, when we begin to see them seeking a greater work of God, those are indicators that God is at work in a unique and powerful way. And what I'm seeing around the country are quite independent events that are mirroring each other."
