The Daily Brief

1. Last Joyride?" Pilot of Missing Jet in Wrong State of Mind to Fly Says Friend - The New Zealand Herald

122 Objects Discovered that could be Parts of MH370

As news comes from France that one of their satellites has spotted 122 "potential objects" in the southern Indian Ocean in the search for the missing Malaysia Airlines jet, other news has surfaced pointing to the strong possibility that the pilot of Flight 370, Captain Zaharie Ahmad Shah, may have commandeered the aircraft due to mental instability.

A report in the New Zealand Herald this morning claims one of Zaharie's fellow pilots as saying Zaharie's "world was crumbling [from] serious family problems, including separation from his wife and relationship problems with another woman he was seeing."

Zaharie Ahmad ShahThe pilot, who said Zaharie was "definitely not a terrorist," said, "He's [Zaharie] one of the finest pilots around and I'm no medical expert, but with all that was happening in his life, Zaharie was probably in no state of mind to be flying." (Read more)

- None of us has stopped praying over the mysterious disappearance of this aircraft, nor should we. Continue to stand on the Word of God: our Omniscient Father has the answer.

- "He reveals the deep things of darkness and brings utter darkness into the light." (Job 12:22)

2. Hobby Lobby case: Justices skeptical of White House position - Politico

The Supreme Court on Tuesday expressed skepticism of the legality of the Obama administration's refusal to accommodate for-profit companies' religious objections to the Obamacare requirement that most firms provide contraception in their employee health plans.

- Father, we trust that all nine justices will vote in defense of the two companies who have religious objections to provide contraception in their employee health plans. Let God be honored in this decision by the justices, and let it set a precedent in legal matters. In Jesus' Name we pray, amen.

- "And that because of false brethren who secretly slipped in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage." (Galatians 2:4)

3. Sotomayor, Kagan: Hobby Lobby Should Drop Insurance, Pay Penalty and Let Employees Use Exchange - CNS News

During oral arguments in the U.S. Supreme Court on Tuesday which focused on whether the contraceptive mandate in the Affordable Care Act violates the free exercise of religion, Justices Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan suggested employers who have moral objections to birth control should not provide health care coverage for their employees.

-- Father, in all Your wisdom guide Hobby Lobby and all the nine justices of the United States Supreme Court in their decisions. Let the freedom which we enjoy in America continue on so that this great company can stay in business and serve the people as they have for many years with satisfaction. In Jesus' Name.

- "But by an equality, that now at the time your abundance may be a supply for their need, that their abundance also may be a supply for their want: that there may be equality." (II Corinthians 8:14)

4. Christian Leaders Shocked, Grieved by World Vision's Decision to Hire Employees in Same-Sex Marriage - Christian Post

Christian leaders such as evangelist Franklin Graham and Russell D. Moore, who is president of the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention, expressed outrage that Christian relief organization World Vision announced it would hire employees in same-sex marriages on Monday.

- Father, we are to love these people but be separated from their lifestyle and company, and therefore not condone how they live. Save their souls, Lord. In Jesus' Name.

- "Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship has righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion has light with darkness? Wherefore come out from among them, and be separate, says the Lord, and touch not the forbidden thing." (II Corinthians 6:14-17)

5. President Obama Prepares to Meet the People's Pope- TIME

President Barack Obama will travel to Vatican City to meet Pope Francis for the first time on Thursday, hoping that perhaps some of the pontiff's seemingly universal popularity will rub off on him before he leaves. (Read more)

- Once again, only our Lord knows what will happen once these two world leaders meet face to face, behind closed doors. Pray in the Spirit over this report, asking that only the plans and purposes of Almighty God prevail in these discussions. Amen.

6. Vatican Chief Justice: Obama's Policies 'Have Become Progressively More Hostile Toward Christians - CBS News

- Father, we trust in the God of heaven who is Lord over all to intervene for the Christians in America and those all over the world who stand for Truth and who live lives dedicated to leading others to the one True Savior of the World, Jesus the resurrected Christ, who died and rose from the dead that all people everywhere could be saved from eternal destruction. In Jesus' Name we pray.

- "That if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved. For with the heart man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." (Romans 10:9-10)

7. Franklin Graham: Some Administration Officials Are 'Anti-Christ' - CNS News

Some of the people working in the Obama administration and in the White House are trying to "completely secularize our military" and are "hostile to Christians," to the point that they "are anti-Christ in what they say and in what they do," said Christian evangelist Franklin Graham, the son of world-renowned preacher Rev. Billy Graham.

- Father, may this statement awaken eyes and heart of the American people to see clearly that this statement is true. Pull off the cloak of deception from our country, direct us to put forth the effort to seek God, so that we all may be saved from mass destruction by believing the lies being told to us by those who do not stand for Jesus Christ and His truth. In His Name we pray.

- "Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ has made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage." (Galatians 5:1)

- Father God, we pray that You will raise up a strong wise leader who will withstand the loose-lip leaders who have taken a non-responsive attitude to the terrorists' dirty bomb attack that threatened the lives of hundreds of thousands of people. Lord God, intervene by sending warring angels in a counterattack against these acts of violence. In Jesus' Name we pray.

- "The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light." (Romans 13:12)

9. Obama: I'm Concerned About a Nuke Being Detonated in Manhattan - Weekly Standard

Biblical leadership

In recent days, the Lord has repeatedly placed on my heart Exodus 18:21, "Moreover you shall provide out of all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them to be rulers of thousands, and rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens." The context of this verse on Biblical leadership is found in the need for Moses to settle disputes among the Israelites. It was taking so much of his time that it was wearing him out. Asked by his father in law Jethro what he was doing, Moses replied, "When they have a matter, they come unto me; and I judge between one and another, and I do make them know the statutes of God, and his laws."

Moses was leading the people through the example of the laws and statutes of God. As he did so, he taught the people about God's ways as Jethro observed in verse 20: "And you shall teach them ordinances and laws, and shall show them the way wherein they must walk, and the work that they must do." Then Jethro suggested to Moses the representative form of government found in verse 21. But it is not only a representative system, it is a form of leadership that is based on example, efficiency, accountability, and fairness under the law. This very system is the picture of good leadership because it speaks to the character and system of good governance.
Able men are those who are competent to lead. Men who fear God are those who have respect for God and knowledge of his ways because one cannot have respect without some idea of what it is that is respected. Men of truth are those who know and live by the truth. If Jesus is the way, the truth and the life, these leaders must know the Lord in order to know truth. Men who hate covetousness. Covetousness is defined as having or showing a great desire to possess something, typically something belonging to someone else. A government is covetousness when those running it want to take what you have and give it to someone else. The governing body becomes covetous if the men running it are so.

The Hebrew translation of the words for this verse are those that mean competent, God-fearing, honest and incorruptible. These are the qualities of good leaders. This system of government served as the basis for the government of the United States when the Founders framed up the Constitution. The Framers also were consistent in describing the type of leaders that should be elected into this form of government--religious, moral, Christian were words often used by various Founders in their private writings and speeches. If as Christians we accept the word of God as inerrant and infallible, then we should choose leaders who hold the qualities of leadership described by the Bible, and hold them accountable.

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

Supreme Court Hearing: HHS Mandate and Hobby Lobby

At the Supreme Court, a Best Case Scenario

On the snowy steps of the U.S. Supreme Court, there was another flurry -- of media. With one of the most significant religious liberty cases ever to be heard as the backdrop, FRC held a press conference in defense of two family businesses fighting inside for their constitutional rights. Under the HHS mandate, both Hobby Lobby and Conestoga Wood face the choice of either paying for pills or procedures that violate their moral beliefs -- or pay crippling fines of up to $100 per day, per employee. Even the smallest businesses subject to the mandate would pay a fine of at least $ 1.8 million per year.

Our own Cathy Ruse, Senior Fellow for Legal Studies and a member of the Supreme Court bar, had the opportunity to attend today's historic hearings and was cautiously optimistic that the justices understand that a family's choice to make a living shouldn't mean surrendering their religious freedom.
"The justices showed strong concern for the devastating impact that the HHS mandate would have on religious families who stand up for their conscience," Cathy explained. They also acknowledged "that one terrible choice for family businesses is dropping health insurance for all of their employees. However, in these situations the businesses would still face significant fines and employees would lose the plans and doctors that they have come to know and trust." And Cathy wasn't alone in that assessment. Many in the media noticed the justices' skepticism of the Obama administration's claim that for-profit companies have no religious rights under federal law.
Rep. Hartzler kicked off the night by saying, "My colleagues and I are here tonight to share the concerns we have as we stand up for the people that we represent and for what our Founders started this country on and why we want to stand for future generations, to protect those freedoms that those who have gone before us stood up and fought for us, for our generation." Just days ago, said Rep. James Lankford (R-Okla.), "the President spoke at the National Prayer Breakfast about the cornerstone right of the free expression of religion. That includes Americans who believe that children are a gift of God and they should be nurtured and cared for, not discarded as tissue.Washingtonis not the boss of every American. Our Constitution matters, freedom of religion matters, and, quite frankly, children matter."

House Deals with Health Care Curveballs

House Deals with Health Care Curveballs

The White House must be having fun blowing through its $52 million ObamaCare advertising budget, because it just gave itself another two and a half weeks to spend it. The administration, which never met a deadline it didn't like to postpone, confirmed the delay late last night to the Washington Post's Amy Goldstein.

For HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, the optics are less than flattering. Exactly two weeks ago, the health care boss sat before the U.S. House and insisted that the sign-up cut-off was firm. Asked if she was going to delay open enrollment beyond March 31, Sebelius replied, "No, sir." Her answer was echoed by Julie Bataille, a spokesperson for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services -- who, unlike the rest of the administration, seems to understand why it shouldn't. "We don't actually have the statutory authority to extend [it] . . . " she admitted.
Unfortunately, the limits of executive authority never seem to stop this President. Under this latest "joke" of an announcement, as House Speaker John Bohener (R-Ohio) called it, Americans can qualify for an extension through an online honor system that gives them extra time if they "tried" to meet the deadline. If only the President were operating by the kind of honor system that holds him to his word on his own legislation.
While the administration seems eager to avoid the law they worked so hard to pass, officials don't seem nearly as concerned about giving relief to doctors and businesses suffering because of it. This week, Congress will do what it can to help the medical community by agreeing to a bill that would protect doctors from a 24% pay cut on April 1. Under this "doc fix," physicians would have a one-year reprieve from the reduction in fees ordered by Medicare. While both sides were hoping for a more permanent solution, they butted heads on how to offset the $137 billion for a long-term fix. (Family Research Council)

World Vision Apostasy

The Great Divide--World Vision Apostasy

The Great Apostasy is upon us. The signs are all around and easily discernible just as Jesus warned us that they would be. The Apostate Church is openly beginning to embrace Gay "marriages" and a Socialist "Social Justice" which is the precursor to Marxism and Communism, a spirit of anti-Christ.

This week, a well-known Christian organization, World Vision, announced that it would begin to hire gay "married" couples. In a sad attempt to be "non-divisive" they have instead embraced evil. With the help of the Holy Spirit people are coming out of the "gay" lifestyle every day. Our Lord Jesus Christ clearly defined marriage in Matthew 19: 4-6 and Mark 10: 6-9; and He is the Bridegroom; we are His Bride. Marriage is a holy institution that must be supported, not denigrated by the world's thinking and lukewarm Christians. The Risen Christ, our Lord, says in Revelation 21:8 and 22:15 that the sexually immoral will not enter heaven. In love and gentleness, in patience and humility (2 Timothy 2: 24-26) we need to correct those who are in opposition to God's Word, so that they may know the Truth. In love we need to encourage people to come out of the gay lifestyle, not lock them in.

What does it profit these children if we feed them with earthly food and they lose their souls?

Revelation clearly states that in the end times, true Christians need to make a stand against this apostasy or get swept away in the oncoming spiritual oppression flood. Revelation 18:4 says:

Then I heard another voice calling from heaven, "Come away from her, my people. Do not take part in her sins, or you will be punished with her. (New Living Translation) ~Revelation 18:4

If you study the Greek Word it means literally: to make a public break with this apostasy, take a stand, come out from your apathy and make it publicly noticeable!

Read: "Come Out, Come Out, Wherever You Are"

In keeping with scripture, we are asking you to do the following:

1) First and foremost, we have some fervent, deeply committed Intercessors on this email list. Please take a moment to pray for the children of World Vision that are impacted by this horrible decision.

2) Secondly, make every effort to follow the mandates of scripture. If you have an account with World Vision, please consider joining those of us who are canceling our accounts which can be done by telephone or on the web. Make sure you inform the telephone operator of the reason you are cancelling your account.

1-800-777-5777 or www.worldvision.org

3) Most importantly, please go the extra length for God. Do not simply just cancel your World Vision membership. Please replace it (and a needy child) with a Christian organization that not only assists with earthly temporal needs but also nourishes the soul and teaches the full gospel , the whole counsel of God, with no reservation, including our Lord Jesus' specific definition of marriage cited in Matthew 19: 4-6 and Mark 10: 6-9, citing Genesis. We at National Day of Repentance can wholeheartedly recommend Samaritan's Purse, but there are many others.

www.samaritanspurse.org

Today, this prayer is on my heart. Please also add any additional intercessory prayers that God lays on your heart:
Most High God, Maker of Heaven and Earth. Your word says if anyone leads a little child astray, it would be better if a millstone was tied around their neck and they were cast into the middle of a lake. We believe that is exactly what will happen to those that teach Apostate doctrine to your precious little ones. They will be swept away in the Sea of Apostasy that is encircling the globe. If we expect your protection, then we need to make a public break with this apostasy. Protect these innocent children. Allow other Christian organizations that teach the fullness of your Holy Word to step into the vacuum that will be created as certain Christians abandon the Word of God and board the sinking ship of compromise. We pray this prayer in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Name above all Names under which every knee must bow. Amen.
Standing Firm under the Shadow of His Wing . . .

Joel Rosenberg Statement on Ukraine

Joel Rosenberg Says Ukraine Jews Should be on Planes Heading to Israel

New York Times' best-selling author Joel C. Rosenberg lists reasons how Russian President Vladimir Putin fits into some aspects of Scriptural end-times prophecy, but warns it's still too early to tell if he is part of the Gog mentioned in Ezekiel.

New York Times' best-selling author Joel C. Rosenberg is a born-again Christian of Jewish descent. Recently, he was asked by CBN News reporter George Thomas how the current crisis in the Ukraine, and President Vladimir Putin himself, may fit into Biblical prophecies.
Importantly, Rosenberg notes that Putin doesn't see himself just as president, but rather a czar, the difference being that czars are imperialists who want to expand their kingdom.

Putin, says Rosenberg, is definitely "probing" to do just that.

As a descendent of Jews persecuted in WWII, Rosenberg says that Jews in Ukraine are fearful, as well they should be.

Putin"They should be on planes heading for Israel," says Rosenberg, adding that " It's amazing Jews have decided to stay in Ukraine," because of its history of anti-Semitism.

Indeed, says Rosenberg, "Israel may have to start airlifting these Jews to Israel."

Rosenberg also mentions end-time prophecies in Ezekiel 38-39 and says that, while Putin is definitely a dictator and building an alliance with Iran, it's still too early to tell if the scenario is a fulfillment of these Scriptures.

In conclusion, Rosenberg frames the long-held notion of understanding history so that we don't repeat ourselves and asks what we really mean when we say that? When we see evil rising and genocides in motion, as we do today, why do we allow it to continue?

The Good News Corner

The Good News Corner:

God 'bent the bullet,' Stopped it from Harming Syrian Christian Women

Three Syrian Christian women were on their way to the hospital to pray for a sick friend. When their car was struck by gunfire intended for the driver, God miraculously intervened to spare their lives.

According to a report by Christian Aid Mission, Sabeen*, along with her sister and niece, were on their way to visit a friend languishing in the hospital, winding through the byzantine streets of Damascus in their small car. They knew the dangers for anyone to travel there-especially women-but they had faith in God's protection.

They knew there is really no "safe" place in Syria under current conditions, but according to Psalm 91:1, the one who "dwells in the shelter of the Most High," finds protection in the shadow of the Almighty.

DamascusSabeen and her sister-both actively living out their faith-often travel through the streets of the ancient city looking for ministry opportunities and holding prayer meetings. Then they connect with churches outside Syria and direct them concerning the best way to meet any pressing needs.

As they passed through a somewhat dicey neighborhood, they suddenly heard the sound of gunfire. It was not an unfamiliar sound-the women have survived months living in such conditions.

But then came a jolting boom that rocked the car and the sound of an explosion!

Something struck the front of the vehicle, but they were still moving forward. To their surprise, the car was still drivable. They looked at each other incredulously, and no one seemed to be wounded or even grazed.

Stunned that the vehicle was still intact and they were unharmed, the three women continued on toward the hospital. Once safely there, they checked the outside of the car, but couldn't find any damage.

Shortly after that, a retired army major - also a Christian - offered to examine their vehicle. He found that a bullet had gone straight through the engine without impairing or damaging anything inside. The trajectory of the bullet was aimed directly at Sabeen.

"The bullet stopped at the back of the dashboard, directly across from where Sabeen had been sitting. The only reason it had stopped was because the tip of the bullet was bent backwards," according to Christian Aid Mission.

They believe God "bent the bullet backwards" and stopped it in its tracks. (Christian Aid Mission) Read more here.

'God's Not Dead' Rocking Box Office in Stunning Debut
- Per-Screen Average Near Top of the Heap

Indie film "God's Not Dead" is rocking the weekend box office, bringing in $2.8 million from just 780 theaters on Friday. Its $3,613 per-screen average was better than any movie in the market except for "Divergent" and "The Grand Budapest Hotel," The Wrap noted Saturday.

It was running third after Friday and will likely come in around $8 million for the three days.

The low-budget PG-13 drama about a Christian college student (Shane Harper) in an epic battle with an atheist philosophy professor who threatens to fail him if he refuses to disavow God's existence.

Freestyle Releasing co-president Mark Borde said he wasn't surprised about the movie's big initial draw at the box office.

"While this huge opening may be a surprise to the industry, it is not so much to us," he told The Wrap on Saturday. "The in-house tracking, the legitimate one million Facebook fans, the very high trending on Twitter and Fandango among many other platforms, and the huge positive reaction from the hundreds of screenings over the many past months, gave us hope for a significant opening." Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near."
