"His kingdom is one which will not be destroyed, and His dominion will be forever." (Daniel 6:26)

On Capitol Hill This Week; Vol. XVII, No. 7a

(San Francisco, California)-The AP reports "federal appeals court in San Francisco upheld the use of the words 'under God' in the Pledge of Allegiance and 'In God We Trust' on U.S. currency, rejecting arguments that the phrases violate the separation of church and state."

"The Pledge is constitutional," Judge Carlos Bea wrote for the majority in the 2-1 ruling. "The Pledge of Allegiance serves to unite our vast nation through the proud recitation of some of the ideals upon which our Republic was founded." (One News Now)

- Today we offer a prayer of PRAISE that civil government is in alignment with Kingdom Government over this nation, which IS "ONE NATION UNDER GOD." Case closed!

- I will restore your judges as in days of old, your counselors as at the beginning. Afterward you will be called the City of Righteousness, the Faithful City. (Isaiah 1:26)

Get ready, folks - the end of the ObamaCare debate is near. Reuters reports that the House Budget Committee will take up a healthcare reconciliation bill on Monday. House Democrat leaders are saying that they hope to conclude the debate within the next ten days.

To give you some idea of just how important this bill is to the White House, President Obama has reportedly delayed his trip to Indonesia in order "to focus attention on the final push to salvage health care legislation." Barack Obama is personally engaged behind the scenes, twisting arms and lobbying reluctant Democrats, and he doesn't want to leave town while key issue are unresolved.

This may not seem like a big deal, but, trust me, it is. Having worked in the White House for eight years, I can promise you that there is no more influential lobbyist than the president of the United States. There are enormous pressures being brought to bear on wavering Democrats, and we'll know soon if the United States of America is going to take a giant lurch to the left and embrace European-style socialism.

The only countervailing force to the megaphone of president is the voice of the American people. In the days ahead, it is absolutely critical that you make your voice heard. (Gary Bauer)

- Continue to decree the Lordship of Jesus Christ over all matters related to the demise of Obamacare. May this document end up as "sawdust" in the Hands of our Carpenter. Amen.

- Devise your strategy, but it will be thwarted; propose your plan, but it will not stand, for God is with us. (Isaiah 8:10)

This week has been disastrous for President Obama, Speaker Pelosi and the gays-in-the-military agenda. Their efforts to change American culture remain in freefall - and now they must do damage control over Eric Massa, the lecher who enjoys "tickling" his congressional aides.

The drama-rama surrounding Massa has shown the American people first hand why lifting the ban on gays in the military is a bad idea.

The ex-Congressman from New York is now the new poster child for upholding the 1993 law banning gays and lesbians from serving in the military. His former Navy colleagues are coming out of hiding to expose his decades-long habit of trying to seduce his subordinates - known as "snorkeling" in the Navy. Massa resigned from Congress on Monday to avoid undergoing a thorough investigation into his gay predatory activities against his subordinates. What Massa refers to as "tickling" of at least three males is more perverse than he admits.. . . (Traditional Values Coalition) Read more.

- Offer praise that this member of Congress has resigned. This incident may well be only the tip of the iceberg; intercede that all workers of iniquity be exposed on Capitol Hill and brought to justice. Amen.

- The LORD is known by his justice; the wicked are ensnared by the work of their hands. (Psalm 9:16)

Lawmakers working to craft a new comprehensive immigration bill have settled on a way to prevent employers from hiring illegal immigrants: a national biometric identification card all American workers would eventually be required to obtain.

Under the potentially controversial plan still taking shape in the Senate, all legal U.S. workers, including citizens and immigrants, would be issued an ID card with embedded information, such as fingerprints, to tie the card to the worker.

The uphill effort to pass a bill is being led by Sens. Chuck Schumer (D., N.Y.) and Lindsey Graham (R., S.C.), who plan to meet with President Barack Obama as soon as this week to update him on their work. An administration official said the White House had no position on the biometric card.

"It's the nub of solving the immigration dilemma politically speaking," Mr. Schumer said in an interview. The card, he said, would directly answer concerns that after legislation is signed, another wave of illegal immigrants would arrive. "If you say they can't get a job when they come here, you'll stop it." (Wall Street Journal) Read more.

• The plan has always been to phase in potential infringements to our liberties by making the plan seem benign and necessary. Once in place, the plan can be changed as the rulers desire, and the people are ensnared in an inescapable net. Pray for the Lord's strategies to intervene in the passage of this bill. His ideas are the best. Pray for the protection of America's borders.

- You have set all the borders of the earth. . . (Psalm 74:17a)

Rep. Diana DeGette, D-Colo., and Rep. Michael Castle, R-Del., have reintroduced legislation that would reinforce President Obama's executive order on embryonic stem-cell research. The legislation would require the NIH to develop "strong" ethical requirements for destructive embryo research. Pro-life advocates explain that's impossible to do anytime you destroy a human life in the name of research.

The Stem Cell Research Advancement Act was introduced on the one-year anniversary of an executive order by President Obama lifted federal funding restrictions on embryonic stem-cell research. President George W. Bush put the restrictions in place during his first term. Embryonic stem-cell research always involves the destruction of human life.

Dawn Vargo, bioethics analyst with Focus on the Family Action, said the legislation is not necessary, because ethical adult stem cells are already treating dozens of diseases and conditions. "The irony here," Vargo said, "is that as politicians continue to push for life-destroying, dead-end embryonic stem-cell research, the scientific community has moved onto more promising, ethical research." (CitizenLink)

- This same bill has been introduced over the past two years, and it failed both times. Praise God for answers to prayer, and continue to ask that this life-destroying legislation meets its demise in the Halls of Congress.

Forgive those who are sponsoring this bill; they know not what they do. May God visit each one with His Grace and His Glory, bringing them to repentance and salvation through the Blood of the Lamb.

- The effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. (James 5:16)

A new Web site,, was created to advocate for an amendment to the U.S. Constitution that would support parental rights.

The wording for the proposed amendment would also keep the U.S. out of foreign treaties that would undermine parents' rights, according to spokeswoman Rebekah Pizana. "There's the U.N. Convention on the Rights of the Child that I know the Obama administration wants to ratify" she said.

She added that parental rights are poorly defined, making them vulnerable to activist courts. "We are one Supreme Court case away from the remnants of parents' rights and their constitutional protection just being completely taken away," she explained."The liberty of parents to direct the upbringing and education of their children is a fundamental right." (CitizenLink)

- Pray that support for this initiative will build. The time has come to secure our parents' rights to, indeed, enforce their sole authority over the training of their children. Pray!

- . . . train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it. (Proverbs 22:6)

- This UN Convention on the Rights of the Child smacks of all dictatorships, for those who know their history. The Bible says we are to "train up a child in the way he should go . . ." but the Lord does not give children special rights, especially not rights granted by the government. Pray that this entire convention is cancelled, postponed, and eliminated from Obama's to-do list.

- Honor your father and mother so that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord your God is giving you. (Exodus 20:12)

The U.S. Census Bureau has changed its interpretation of the 1996 Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) to allow it to tabulate same-sex couples who self-identify their union as a marriage, even though DOMA prohibits any federal agency from recognizing same-sex unions as marriages.

Prior to the Obama administration, the Census Bureau said that DOMA prohibited the Bureau from tallying homosexual couples as being married. The Bureau plans to issue a report on its same-sex married data that is separate from its nationwide census report.

"What we agreed to do in 2010 is that since some people are answering that they are a same-sex couple who considered themselves to be husband and, and married and the same gender, we will produce a report that shows how many people checked off that box," Burton Reist, assistant
director for communications at the Census Bureau, told (CNS News) Read more.

- What will they try next?? To quote a dear friend, "Once can now hear the moral fabric being torn and ripped . . ." Intercede over this new policy, asking that an outcry would be unleashed against it by the majority of the American people, who do NOT recognize "same-sex unions" as legal marriages. Pray this is overruled . . .

- I will overturn royal thrones . . . (Job 9:5)

On Friday, March 5, the White House announced a "summit on entrepreneurship" to build economic ties with the Islamic world, part of President Barack Obama's outreach to Muslims. The White House said it has invited participants from more than 40 countries over five continents for the April 26-27 conference in Washington.

"The summit will highlight the role entrepreneurship can play in addressing common challenges while building partnerships that will lead to greater opportunity abroad and at home," White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said.

Obama first spoke of the entrepreneurship conference in his signature June 4 speech in Cairo to the Islamic world. In the closely watched address, Obama said the United States was seeking a "new beginning" with the Islamic world to rebuild relations that had sharply deteriorated over the past decade.

Obama promised at the time that he would convene a "presidential summit on entrepreneurship" by the end of 2009. He said that the meeting would "identify how we can deepen ties between business leaders, foundations and social entrepreneurs in the United States and Muslim communities around the world." (Breitbart)

- What is going on behind the scenes as the true purpose of this summit? Lift this proposal up to the Lord, who is omnipresent and omniscient and ask for His guidance about this summit. Our president has made many suggestions that have never reached fruition and has deceived many. Is some plan here working against Israel? Pray that Americans will again stand firmly with Israel.

- Then all this assembly shall know that the Lord does not save with sword and spear; for the battle is the Lord's, and He will give you into our hands. (I Samuel 17:47)

President Obama, who rarely attends public church services, turns often to a wide range of Baptists, Mainline Protestants, Catholics, Muslims and Jews for prayer and spiritual and moral discussion, according to a new report.

Obama prays on the phone with ministers from around the country, speaks often of the role of faith in public life, and quotes Christian theologians "to frame his policies in moral terms," says Daniel Burke, writing for Washington, D.C.- based Religion News Service.

And he doesn't only call on thinkers who are well-known, Burke says: Like previous presidents, he regularly seeks the counsel of longtime Washington insiders, including Sojourners founder Jim Wallis, Reform Rabbi David Saperstein and Cardinal Theodore McCarrick, retired Archbishop of Washington D.C., to shape decisions about the Iraq war, health care reform and the economy.
But Obama has also turned to a group of fresh -- and relatively unfamiliar -- faces to manage religious issues in his administration. They are recalibrating America's engagement with Muslims, revamping the White House faith-based office and tending to the president's own soul. A year into Obama's presidency, each of the following seven people has become an essential member of what might be called his "spiritual cabinet." (USA TODAY) Read more.

- Please refer to the link to learn about the seven advisors who are now close to the president, giving him spiritual counsel each week. Praise God that Obama senses his need for help from a Power greater than himself in order to lead our nation correctly. Only Christ can fill the God-created hole that exists in the soul of every man; pray that Father will find the way into the heart of our sitting president. Only God can heal a shattered soul, and make it whole.

- Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved. (Acts 4:12)

U.S. Chief Justice John Roberts said Tuesday the scene at President Obama's first State of the Union address was "very troubling" and that the annual speech to Congress has "degenerated into a political pep rally." . . Roberts said he wonders whether justices should attend the address. "To the extent the State of the Union has degenerated into a political pep rally, I'm not sure why we're there," said Roberts, a Republican nominee who joined the court in 2005.

. . . there is the issue of the setting, the circumstances and the decorum. The image of having the members of one branch of government standing up, literally surrounding the Supreme Court, cheering and hollering while the court -- according to the requirements of protocol -- has to sit there expressionless, I think is very troubling." (AP) Read more.

- Offer praise for the bold statement of the Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court. Enough is enough -- it is time to return to the civility and decorum that our system of government demands. Amen.

- He will judge the world in righteousness; he will govern the peoples with justice. (Psalm 9:8)

This week, Wyoming Governor Dave Freudenthal signed House Joint Resolution 2 (HJ0002), claiming "sovereignty on behalf of the State of Wyoming and for its citizens under the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States over all powers not otherwise enumerated and granted to the federal government or reserved to the people by the Constitution of the United States."

Freudenthal, a long-time Democrat, was previously a US attorney for the Clinton administration, and is currently serving his 2nd term as Governor of Wyoming. He endorsed Barack Obama for president and is commonly referred to as one of the most popular governors in the country.

In a memorandum sent to the Wyoming legislature in late January, Freudenthal made clear his position that the federal government has gone beyond the limits of the constitution:

"For decades we have shared increased frustration dealing with the federal government and its agencies. What started out as a leak in the erosion of state prerogative and independence has today turned into a flood. From wolf and grizzly bear management, to gun control, to endless regulation and unfunded mandates - the federal government has become far too powerful and intrusive."

- Lift up a chorus of praise for the bold actions of Governor Dave Freudenthal and the citizens of the State of Wyoming. May they all be protected in days to come, as they have worked to protect the Tenth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, according to its original intent. Praise God!

- Let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord; praise ye the Lord. (Psalm 150:6)

Focus on Health Care

The abortion funding is bad enough, but to give you some idea of just how bad this "reform" bill is in its entirety, consider these comments by Washington Post writer Ezra Klein, a regular on MSNBC.

" . . . the very existence of this legislative process is a huge progressive victory . . . this bill represents an enormous leftward shift for American social policy unmatched by anything that has passed into law in recent decades. Progressives are on the cusp of winning an incredibly important war. For all its imperfections, health-care reform itself is deeply, deeply progressive."

To be clear, the bill is not liberal enough for Klein. He wants a full-fledged public option/single-payer socialized system. But he's arguing that this bill is just the first step down that path, and he's right. Klein is also correct in suggesting that the process alone is a "huge progressive victory."
That 220 House Democrats and every single Senate Democrat voted for ObamaCare last year is a testament to the power and control that the progressive movement wields in the Democrat Party. And it is just one of many consequences of recent elections.

Unless pro-family, pro-life and pro-free enterprise conservatives do a better job of convincing friends and family members, registering new voters, donating to conservative candidates and causes, and turning out the vote on Election Day, America will be a very different country in the years ahead. (Gary Bauer)

- Please pray that the far left will wake up and repent over the stark reality that they are literally and generously planning to give our dearest freedoms away. Ask God for their very souls to be saved and for a conservative strategy and victory that will once and for all put us on a track to soundness and life. Intercede and decree that no progressive will ever win a war when that war is against the American people.

- Then it shall be, after I have plucked them out, that I will return and have compassion on them and bring them back, everyone to his heritage and everyone to his land. (Jeremiah 12:15)

The Speaker from San Francisco is calling Bart Stupak'' bluff. The Associated Press reported this morning, "Democratic leaders Thursday abandoned a long struggle to strike a compromise on abortion. . ." There's no doubt about it now. If ObamaCare becomes law, it will amount to a de facto repeal of the Hyde Amendment, which prohibits taxpayer-funding of abortions. It will be the most pro-abortion legislation to pass Congress in decades, making abortion a healthcare "right" subsidized with your hard-earned tax dollars.

This is a huge gamble by Nancy Pelosi. Sixty-four House Democrats voted with all House Republicans to support the Stupak amendment banning taxpayer-funding of abortion. Rep. Joe Pitts (R-PA), who co-sponsored the Stupak amendment, said that the pro-abortion Democrat leadership is ripping out the most bi-partisan aspect of this bill. It's difficult to see how Pelosi comes up with 216 votes if Bart Stupak really has 12 committed pro-life Democrat votes against the Senate's pro-abortion bill.

But, the AP report continues, " . . .[Democrats] hope that only a few House Democrats who voted for the health care package in November will now switch to 'no' because of the abortion issue. Party leaders think they can offset [pro-life] defections by persuading some of the 39 House Democrats who voted 'no' last year to switch to 'yes.'"

We're going over the records and statements of those 39 Democrats to identify the ones most likely to flip-flop. We'll report our analysis next week and let you know where to train your fire. (Gary Bauer)

- As the minds of some are blinded to the truth, pray that this will create an atmosphere designed for the complete failure of this bill. Intercede that Democratic hopes will be dashed for good and for this nightmare to be over in the perfect timing of God, for of a truth, they did not consult Him on this matter. Pray that this risky behavior by Nancy Pelosi proves to be just what America needs now, overkill for the disappearance of this horrible affront to our nation.

- There is another evil I have seen under the sun. Kings and rulers make a grave mistake when they give great authority to foolish people and low positions to people of proven worth. (Ecclesiastes 10:5-6)

Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius contradicted herself on abortion funding in the Senate health care bill in a Sunday interview (3/7/10) on NBC's "Meet the Press." Sebelius applauded the Senate language before and talked about mandatory abortion fees, but now she claims there is no funding.

Sebelius also appeared to contradict herself within the interview, saying at one point that abortion funding is a part of the government-run health care bill. Sebelius was asked whether the Senate bill would be fixed to top the massive abortion funding it contains and other pro-abortion problems.

"There is no federal money paying for abortions," President Barack Obama's top health care spokeswoman maintained. "That's just not my statement, it is what, you know, a legal analyst who has looked at the Senate bill, it's what the fact checkers who look at the statements say."

Yet, when she spoke with ABC's "This Week" program yesterday, she said "Yes, abortion services are provided" under the Senate health care bill. She tried to qualify her answer by adding, "people will pay out of their own pockets, in both the Senate and the House, but they do it in slightly different ways." (

- Offer praise for those watchmen on the wall who will listen carefully to the statements made by our governing officials, as above, and will "hold their feet to the fire" when contradictions are sited. In all the confusion surrounding this bill, pray that voices of clarity will be heard, and that those who are entangled in webs of deception will be held accountable for their words.

- Simply let your 'Yes' be 'Yes,' and your 'No'' 'No'; anything beyond this comes from the evil one. (Matthew 5:37)

Believe it or not, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, in the course of promoting passage of the Senate version of ObamaCare, said that they need to pass the bill in order for people to really know what's in the bill.

Yes, really . . .

"You've heard about the controversies within the bill, the process about the bill, one or the other. But I don't know if you have heard that it is legislation for the future, not just about health care for America, but about a healthier America, where preventive care is not something that you have to pay a deductible for or out of pocket. Prevention, prevention, prevention - it's about diet, not diabetes. It's going to be very, very exciting.

"But we have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it, away from the fog of the controversy" . . .

- Lord, in the face of ridiculous statements like this one, please . . .teach us to pray . . .

- Our Father, which art in heaven, hallowed be Thy Name . . . Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven . . . (Matthew 6:10)

Also oppose Obama's job performance

New polls from Rasmussen Reports show opposition to the pro-abortion health care bill increasing with a renewed focus on the final battles in Congress. Meanwhile, a majority of Americans say they are opposed to President Barack Obama's job performance.

Rasmussen had Americans opposed in late February to the pro-abortion health care bill on a 52-44 percentage point margin. Now, that opposition to the Senate bill that funds abortions has increased to 53-42 percent, an 11 percentage point margin against the bill. That begins to erase some of the bounce Obama and top Democrats received from the White House health care summit.

The Rasmussen poll notes just 20% Strongly Favor the government-run health care plan while 41% are Strongly Opposed. As has been the case for months, Democrats overwhelmingly favor the plan, and Republicans are overwhelmingly opposed. As for those not affiliated with either major party, 32% favor the plan, and 64% are opposed. (

- We praise God that the American people have not completely lost track of their senses. Pray that members of Congress will take heed, and vote DOWN Obamacare.

- Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people. (Proverbs 14:34)

May Defeat Pro-Abortion Health Care Bill

The pro-life Democrats in the House are still standing firm against the Senate health care bill and its abortion funding. If they hold their ground until the end and put pro-life principles ahead of partisan politics or threats from President Barack Obama or Speaker Nancy Pelosi, they could find themselves heroes. With a lopsided majority in Congress, Pelosi should have no problem railroading the Senate bill through the House.

But, led by Rep. Bart Stupak of Michigan, a stalwart group of pro-life Democrats is giving Pelosi fits by threatening to vote no because the Senate bill contains massive abortion funding and other problems. "Some people are saying we have to vote for the Senate bill. That ain't going to happen," Stupak said last week.

The strategy to win over Stupak and his colleagues has, so far, centered on two ideas: deny and negotiate. Pelosi has gone out of her way to deny that abortion funding is in the Senate health care bill while she and her top lieutenants talk about a companion bill that could be passed alongside the Senate bill and reconciliation measure to pacify Stupak.

The denial is undermined by abortion advocates like Rep. Diana DeGette -- who said "The good news is that the Senate bill does allow" abortion coverage -- and by the fact that the Senate will not likely accept the companion abortion funding ban. (

- As evil in its rarest form stalks good leaders and our people, declare that life will win over death and that a unified America will emerge and rise once again, choosing and protecting life with all of its might. Proclaim that God will have His way in our government and that every leader speaking death or destruction will be silenced soundly. Declare bribes and threats useless now! Ask that pro-life leaders will hold their ground in ground-breaking fashion and that death dealers will finally feel the ground quaking under their feet.

- Then they were silenced and found nothing to say. Then I said, 'What you are doing is not good. Should you not walk in the fear of our God because of the reproach of the nations, our enemies?' (Nehemiah 5:9)

31 House Democrats to pray for -- These Democrats in the House of Representatives voted for the health care bill the first time, but are vulnerable in their home districts and could end up voting against the Senate version: Harry Mitchell (AZ); Gabrielle Giffords (AZ); Ann Kirkpatrick (AZ); Jerry McNerney (CA); John Salazar (CO); Jim Himes (CT); Alan Grayson (FL); Bill Foster (IL); Baron Hill (IN); Mark Schauer (MI); Gary Peters (MI); Dina Titus (NV); Carol Shea-Porter (NH); Tim Bishop (NY); John Hall (NY); Bill Owens (NY); Mike Arcuri (NY); Dan Maffei (NY); Earl Pomeroy (ND); Steven Driehaus (OH); Mary Jo Kilroy (OH); Zack Space (OH); Kathy Dahlkemper (PA); Patrick Murphy (PA); Christopher Carney (PA); Paul Kanjorski (PA);John Spratt (SC); Tom Perriello (VA); Alan Mollohan (WV); Nick Rahall (WV); Steve Kagen (WI). (Intercessors for America)
- Pray for House Democrats who are undecided on the health care bill to be granted discernment, wisdom and courage. Pray that U.S. taxpayers not be forced to pay for abortion.

- If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer. (Matthew 21:22)

His kingdom is one which will not be destroyed, and His dominion will be forever. (Daniel 6:26)

President Barack Obama's trip next week to his childhood home of Indonesia will be no vacation and is unlikely to be delayed by his health reform drive, the White House said Thursday. White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said Obama, who is expected to leave the United States next Thursday, would attend a democracy promotion conference and highlight counter-terrorism measures during the visit to Indonesia.

Obama will also seek to use his stay in the world's most populous Muslim nation to build off a speech he gave last year to the Islamic world from Cairo urging for improved ties with the United States, Gibbs said.

Asked whether the family journey to Indonesia, where Obama spent four years as a boy, and Australia, was intended as an educational trip or a vacation for his daughters Malia and Sasha, Gibbs answered "not at all." Gibbs also said there were no current plans to delay the trip, should lawmakers fail to satisfy the White House's hopes for a crucial House of Representatives vote on the health care bill by March 18. "The president believes it is an extremely important trip, it's an important region of the world, and these are important partners," Gibbs said. (AFP)

- Be sure to cover the president and his family in prayers of protection during this upcoming trip. Continue to offer praise that God has heard -- and answereed -- the prayers of His saints, and that the visit to the Buddhist Shrine in Indonesia has now been canceled. Praise God!

- . . . he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways . . . (Psalm 91:11)

A complete Tibetan Buddhist shrine room, including a silver Buddha, gem-encrusted adornments and silk scroll paintings, went on display for the first time in Washington on Saturday. The shrine room has been set up in a religiously accurate manner with ritual implements, including some blessed by the Dalai Lama, and a shrine loaned by a private collector to the Arthur M. Sackler Gallery.

"The experience of entering the room is really quite profound and moving," said Debra Diamond, curator of South and Southeast Asian Art at the Freer and Sackler galleries in the US capital. "You have a sense of a powerful presence. It's an aesthetic experience."

As a corollary to the shrine exhibit, the Sackler Gallery will feature the first exhibition devoted to a historical Tibetan artist. The exhibition "Lama, Patron, Artist: The Great Situ Panchen" will run alongside the shrine exhibit and feature paintings, sculptures and illuminated manuscript pages.

Three of the thangkas, or scroll paintings, on display are believed to be the work of the 18th century artist Panchen, who has been associated with a "renaissance" of Buddhist sacred art.

The museum will also feature a sand mandala, a Tibetan Buddhist sacred sand painting created by monks that will be on display "to promote the healing of all beings." After 11 days, the mandala will be destroyed in a ritual ceremony as is traditional to indicate the faith's belief in the impermanence of all things. (AFP)

- This may be purely coincidental, but . . . the last time a Buddhist exhibit was raised up in the Freer Gallery . . . on the night they began to build the mandala . . . President George W. Bush (who was two blocks away at the White House) choked on a pretzel, fell off a couch, and hurt his face with a bruise which lasted for several days.

Pray for protection for THIS president, even while this exhibit is in place; and pray that any defilement from the Freer Gallery would be bound and removed by the Blood of the Lamb.

- And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. (Rev. 12:11)

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu tried to calm down the political crisis with the United States and told the Cabinet Sunday morning "not to get carried away and to calm down" following an unprecedented public rebuke from top American officials. In what a UPI analyst headlined "Biden's Operation Boondoggle" the Vice President'' arrival in Israel last week coincided with a government announcement for construction of previously-approved housing for Jews in the Jewish Ramat Shlomo neighborhood bordered on all sides by the densely populated Jewish neighborhoods of Sanhedria, Ramot Eshkol, French Hill and Ramot. The United States considers the area, along with Gilo, Ramot and other outlying Jerusalem neighborhoods, to be part of a future Palestinian Authority state, and U.S. President Barack Obama has called them "settlements"" Ramot alone has over 40,000 residents.

However, Vice President Biden's condemnation of the plan for 1,600 more housing units, followed by U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's publicly charging that it "undermines" American policy, have whipped up Arab protests in the street and in the political realm. Prime Minister Netanyahu apologized to Biden over the timing of the announcement, which he said was done without his knowledge, and thought the issue was a tempest in a teapot. However, Clinton, who previously has referred to Jews with a crude and racist epithet, surpassed him the following day with her public condemnation.

Virtually all foreign and Israeli media have placed Israel in a bad light for ostensibly upsetting American plans to mediate between the PA and Israel for a new Arab state within Israel's borders. However, an "editor-at-large" for UPI, which generally reports with less bias than other news agencies, wrote that the "anemic Middle East 'peace process' is beginning to look like The Fool's Errand." "Obam''s background, his middle name Hussein, his Muslim father and Muslim stepfather, and his associations with Arabs and Muslims have made the 44th president of the United States an object of derision and contempt among many Jews. They have assumed since Day One, correctly, he wanted Jewish settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem dismantled to make room for what [former President George W.] Bush called "a contiguous and viable Palestinian state."
The Prime Minister inadvertently broke the glass of a framed document the vice president had given him. The document was a certificate that several trees were planted in Jerusalem in memory of the vice president's mother, who Biden said was a strong supporter of Israel. (UPI)

- Continue to pray for Israel's borders to be protected - with the Lord's angels, if necessary! We don't know what is Obama's plan, but Americans must continue to stand with Israel, no matter the plans of politicians. Pray that Secretary of State Clinton has an encounter with Jesus and understands where she must stand with Israel. Pray that her focus will be with the Bible and not with politics.

- To your descendents I have given the land from the river of Egypt to the great river Euphrates. (Genesis 15:18). [ Notice that the Lord says nothing about any Palestinian state.]

Jerusalem District Police have closed the Temple Mount to visitors for the next three days due to fears of rioting by Arab worshipers. Entry to the Al Aksa mosque by Muslim worshipers also continues to be limited; only males age 50 and up will be allowed access to the site. Female Muslims of all ages will be allowed to enter without restriction. The restrictions began on Friday, when Arabs began rioting in northern and eastern areas of the capital and intelligence alerts were received warning of a possible terror attack.

Dozens of Arabs rioted near the Damascus Gate when they were not allowed to reach the Temple Mount; police managed to calm the situation after they allowed the worshipers to pray near the gate. One IDF soldier was wounded, and seven Arab demonstrators were arrested in various disturbances around the capital, including near the Rockefeller Museum, at Lion's Gate, Ral-al-Amud neighborhood and Kalandia checkpoint.

Police Commissioner Dudi Cohen warned Friday that Israel would "not allow disturbances," but said it was "important to maintain an open channel of communication with all the parties involved in order to preserve the peace and make it possible for everyone to worship as they wish."
The riots came one day after U.S. Vice President Joe Biden repeated in a speech at Tel Aviv University his harsh condemnation earlier in the week of a years-old plan to building 1,600 housing units in Jerusalem's Ramat Shlomo neighborhood. Technical approval of the plan, part of routine processing, had been announced by the Interior Ministry at the beginning of the week in what was later acknowledged by Minister Eli Yishai to be "awkward timing," for which he apologized.

"I realize this is a very touchy subject in Israel as well as in my own country," Biden told the TAU audience. "But because that decision, in my view, undermined the trust required for productive negotiations, I - and at the request of President Obama - condemned it immediately and unequivocally. . . . sometimes only a friend can deliver the hardest truth."

The plan, which still must pass a 60-day public review process and then another committee review, is still years away from the construction phase, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu later pointed out. Nevertheless, U.S. Secretary Hillary Clinton lashed out at Netanyahu less than 24 hours after Biden's plane had left the tarmac at Ben Gurion International Airport.

Meanwhile, security personnel expressed concern that Sunday's dedication of the Hurva Synagogue in the Jewish Quarter of the Old City, restored to its former beauty after it was badly damaged by the Jordanians in the 1948 war, could set off another round of riots by Arab protestors.

Yehudah Glick, chairman of the Human Rights for the Temple Mount organization noted that it was "sad that the police punish the victims and reward the violence - once again closing the Temple Mount to Jews on a holy day.""The police should bring in extra forces to ensure that the Mount remains open for everyone who is able to respect the site, and remove the radical, violent religious elements," he said.

- As we continue to pray for the peace of Jerusalem, we must also pray for the Arabs, who act from a lack of knowledge , especially about the significance of the Temple Mount. Unfortunately, most Arabs are pawns in the hands of jihadists and radical Moslems. This rioting is nothing more than rebellion against God's Word, a usurping of land that is not theirs and never has been. Pray for patience for the Jews.

- Remember me, O Lord, with the favor which you bear unto Your people. Visit me with Your salvation. (Psalms 106:4)

Gabi Ashkenazi said on Tuesday that Iran was the main threat to world peace and all options should remain on the table for stopping their nuclear program. The Israel Defense Forces Chief of Staff spoke at a dinner hosted by the Friends of the Israeli Defense Forces in New York City, while hundreds of protestors marched outside.

Ashkenazi described how Iran was "attempting to harvest regional instability through its proxies: Hezbollah, Hamas and other terrorist organizations." "Therefore the international community must stop the Iranian nuclear program for its own sake, while all options should remain on the table," Ashkenazi said.

In November, an Israeli official said Ashkenazi told a parliamentary panel that Israel was readying all options to try to force Iran to halt its nuclear program and had suggested diplomatic or economic sanctions may also help. (Ha'aretz)

SPECIAL PRAYERS FOR ISRAEL AND IRAN: (Source: Intercessors for Israel)

The Government and the threat from Iran

The Iranian situation is worsening by the minute. Iran continues to develop nuclear weapons, and there are only talks of sanctions. The existential threat to Israel is very real.

Pray for:

o The Israeli government to know how to act and when to act.
o The Israeli government to know the times and seasons and understand what Israel should do.
o The threat from Iran to harm, kill and annihilate the Jewish people will come to nothing.
o The Government to receive from the Lord a spirit of wisdom for this situation.
God to intervene by opening the ground to swallow the nuclear facilities or by using the Israelis.
o The Iranians so that they may be set free from the power of Islam, in their government and in their lives.
o The Israelis to be prepared for war. And successfully defend themselves.

Deputy minister Ayoub Kara says messages from Islamic leaders conveyed to PM.

An Israeli attack on Iran's nuclear facilities would be quietly supported by a wide coalition of Islamic nations, including a number of extremist states, Deputy Minister of the Negev and Galilee Ayoub Kara said Saturday.

Kara, speaking at a Beersheba event, said that though none of them would admit to it publicly, Islamic nations had conveyed messages to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu that they would back military action against Iran by Israel and the US.

Kara said that Israel would strike "if there is no option."

Western countries have drafted a weakened fourth set of sanctions against the Islamic Republic. Under pressure from Russia and China, the nations will not tighten the ban on trade between Western banks and the Central Bank of Iran (CBI). Diplomats at the United Nations were quoted as saying that the United States, Britain, France and Germany accepted Russia's proposal that the West only ban trading with newly-established Iranian banks, and not increase existing trade limitations with the CBI. (Jerusalem Post)

- This is amazing news, if true. Pray for great wisdom for Israel's officials as they weigh their options vis-a-vis the danger in Iran. God grants wisdom, when asked.

- Call upon Me and i will show you great and mighty things, which you know not of. (Jer. 33:3)

A new treaty limiting U.S. and Russian strategic nuclear arsenals could be signed within two or three weeks, Russian news agencies cited Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov as saying Tuesday.

Lavrov spoke as U.S. and Russian negotiators resumed talks in Geneva on a successor to the 1991 Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty, which expired in December. "We would push for a conclusion in two to three weeks"" Lavrov was quoted as saying. "For this there is every chance."

- Father, may the treaties made between these nations be solid and truthful. We pray for Your guidance in these instances. Enemies do not draw up pacts of agreement unless they have resolved their differences. May You guide the hands of those playing these cards. In Jesus Name.

- Blessed be the Lord, because He has heard the voice of my supplications. (Psalm 28:6)

Suicide bombers launched a coordinated attack in Lahore, Pakistan on Friday, March 12, 2010. At least 45 people were killed and nearly 100 wounded. It was the second attack in Lahore in less than a week. There were also reports that smaller, "low-intensity" bomb attacks - as many as 9 - were carried out though the weekend. Another Taliban attack took place on Saturday, March 13 in the Swat region of northern Pakistan, killing at least 14 people and wounding 50. (Source: BBC News)

• an immediate end to the deadly attacks in Lahore and throughout Pakistan by terrorists and any insurgent groups. (The Bible, Proverbs 22:8)

• the Taliban and every terrorist organization operating in this region to be defeated, its members arrested, and the organizations or any that would try to replace them would cease to exist. Pray for the Lord to expose their schemes and plots and that all future suicide bomb attempts would fail. Pray for an immediate end to all terrorists and insurgent funding, an end to arms supplies, and anything they would use to build suicide bombs. (The Bible, Psalm 7:6)

• protection for civilians, the military, and Christians who are being targeted by these attacks. (The Bible, Psalm 18:2)

• Pray Muslims will turn away from Islam and be drawn by the Lord into a relationship with Jesus Christ. (The Bible, Colossians 1:13)

• the Lord to give the government of Pakistan and the Allied forces wisdom and discernment in defending against and defeating all forms of terrorism. (The Bible, Jeremiah 33:3)

• the Lord to visit Pakistan in great power, displaying His glory, bringing His Kingdom with signs and wonders, dreams and visions, and leading multitudes to faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord today. (The Bible, Hebrews 12:28,29) (WIN Prayer Alert; edited)

U.S. - Israel Crisis a "Train Wreck"

White House trying to divide Jerusalem.

During Vice President Biden's trip to Jerusalem last week to show American support for Israel, our most faithful and enduring strategic ally in the region, some lower-level officials in the Israeli bureaucracy decided it would be a good time to announce the building of 1,600 new homes in a Jewish neighborhood of East Jerusalem. The Palestinian Authority immediately went ballistic, and the Vice President was deeply offended, telling Prime Minister Netanyahu that the timing of the announcement made the Israelis appear to be trying to sabotage the beginning to new peace talks with the Palestinians. Netanyahu immediately apologized, saying he had not authorized the announcement to be made during the VP's trip and was not trying to derail or disrupt the VP's trip.

Biden appeared to accept the apology, and Netanyahu thought the mistake had been resolved.
Since then, however, the situation has worsened significantly. Three days after the incident, Secretary of State Clinton called Netanyahu and reamed him out for 43 minutes. State Department spokesman P.J. Crowley told reporters on Friday that Clinton told Netanyahu that the U.S. had "strong objections to Tuesday's announcement, not just in terms of timing, but also in its substance." Clinton gave Netanyahu a list of specific demands that Israel must take for the U.S. to be convinced that she is serious about peace with the Palestinians.

First things first: The Israeli government and people have every right to build homes in its own capital and the Obama administration is dramatically overreacting, to its discredit. The President, Vice President and Secretary of State are tipping their hand by their words and actions. They clearly don't believe in Israeli sovereignty over its own capital. They want to force Israel to divide its capital, come Hell or high water. They are applying intense pressure on Israel to divide Jerusalem and give away more land even though two recent "land for peace" efforts (southern Lebanon in 2000, and Gaza in 2005) were disasters for Israel and led to two serious wars. This is an enormous mistake. I cannot put into words how strongly I disagree with this administration and their disastrous approach. Jerusalem is the Lord's chosen city. It is His capital. It is and should remain the undivided capital of the Jewish people and the State of Israel.

Second, Prime Minister Netanyahu was right to apologize over the timing of the announcement, and not the substance. [More details on this on the weblog]

Third, the management system within the Prime Minister's office is not functioning properly and needs to be fixed immediately, or other diplomatic disasters will occur. [More details on this on the weblog]

Fourth, as U.S.-Israel relations worsen and Israelis feel more and more isolated in the world, it is critical that followers of Jesus Christ build a global movement of Christians who will pray for Israel and visit Israel and bless Israel, come what may.

Christians should assert that Jerusalem is Israel's capital and shouldn't be divided. Christians should call on Washington to stop pressuring Israel to make unwise and dangerous concessions. Christians should write letters to the White House, State Department and Congress showing their solidarity with Israel. Christians should call into radio and TV talk shows in support of Israel and keeping Jerusalem united. Christians should visit Israel and pray for the peace of Jerusalem. Christians should care for the poor and needy in East and West Jerusalem, as well as throughout Israel, the West Bank and Gaza, thus demonstrating unconditional love and unwavering support.
(Joel Rosenberg, Washington, D.C., March 15, 2010)

More News Today from Israel

As we knit our hearts together today to pray for the peace of Jerusalem, and to repent for America's national policy that would require the israelis to divide their land, let us stand together on these promises from the Word of God:

1) And they will dwell safely there, build houses, and plant vineyards; yes, they will dwell securely, when I execute judgments on all those around them who despise them. Then they shall know that I am the LORD their God. (Ezekiel 28:26)

2) Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble, And He saved them out of their distresses. (Ps 107:19)

3) And the LORD shall help them and deliver them;
He shall deliver them from the wicked,
And save them,
Because they trust in Him. (Ps 37:40)

A. Bibi: Row With U.S. Should Not Have Happened

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday referred to Israel's recent approval of a plan to build 1,600 new housing units in East Jerusalem, announced during U.S. Vice President Joe Biden's visit, as a "harmful" incident that "should not have happened."

In his first public remarks on what Israeli commentators called his most serious crisis with Washington since taking office a year ago, he gave no sign he would meet Palestinian demands to cancel a project for 1,600 new settler homes.

"There was a regrettable incident here, that occurred innocently," Netanyahu told his cabinet at its weekly meeting, though he urged ministers to stay calm amid the tensions.

"We opened the newspapers this morning and read all kinds of commentary and assumptions regarding the crisis with the U.S. I recommend not to get carried away and to calm down," Netanyahu said.

Netanyahu reiterated that he had appointed a committee to investigate the events leading up to the decision to ensure that such a thing not happen again. (Ha'retz)

B. Israel Believes East Jerusalem Row Won't Stop Mideast Talks

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu believes that despite the crisis with the United States over the plan for new housing in East Jerusalem and the protests by the Palestinian Authority and Arab world, indirect talks with the PA will continue as planned early next week.

"The crisis is behind us"" sources in the Prime Minister's Bureau said Thursday. They said proof was the invitation to Netanyahu by U.S. Vice President Joe Biden to meet in Washington in 10 days while Netanyahu visits a meeting of the AIPAC lobby group.

Nonetheless, senior American officials said that even though the crisis is over publicly, it will take time to restore trust between the two sides.

The future of the negotiations was raised during a telephone conversation between Biden and Netanyahu Thursday. Biden also discussed the issue with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas. (Ha'aretz)

C. Ambassador Oren Reprimanded

WASHINGTON - The US State Department summoned Israel's Ambassador in Washington Michael Oren for a meeting Friday where he was reprimanded by a US official.

The meeting was called in the wake of Israel's plan to construct 1,600 new housing units in east Jerusalem, which was announced during US Vice President Joe Biden's visit to Israel.

During the meeting, Deputy Secretary of State James Steinberg harshly criticized Israel's conduct and called for trust-building steps that would allow US special envoy George Mitchell to return to the region and commence talks with the Palestinians.

Meanwhile, officials in Washington have admitted that the latest row between Israel and the US, over the Jerusalem construction plans, amounts to a crisis. (Ynet News)

D. US Ponders Denying Israel Arms For War With Iran

Prime minister Binyamin Netanyahu convened his inner cabinet Saturday night, March 12, to discuss the spiraling crisis with Washington and his first response.

DEBKAfile's military and Washington sources report: The Obama administration is considering withholding from Israel military items urgently needed in case of a flare-up of hostilities with Iran. This would further ratchet up the mounting row over Israel's decision to build another 1,600 homes in E. Jerusalem. The requests were filed by defense minister Ehud Barak as recently as Feb. 26, when he visited Washington and met defense secretary Robert Gates and secretary of state Hillary Clinton.

In an exceptionally harsh phone call to Netanyahu Friday, March, Clinton herself hinted at this possibility while administering a dressing-down on the East Jerusalem housing decision and its announcement during Vice president Joe Biden's visit.

Reporting on that phone call, State Department spokesman P.J. Crowley disclosed: "The secretary said she could not understand how this happened, particularly in light of the United States' strong commitment to Israel's security." (Debka)

Solar Flare Headed to Earth

("CME" = "Coronal Mass Ejection")

March 14: Earth Directed CME - to arrive here around March 17th

INCOMING: This morning, the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory recorded a halo CME emerging from the vicinity of sunspot 1054:

The cloud appears to be heading toward Earth and it could spark geomagnetic storms when it arrives on or about March 17th.

- There is quite a bit of discussion among scientists and lay people about the consequences of this impact. Some would say that certain power grids might be affected, but all agree that satellite communications systems would be vulnerable to the effect of this CME.

- Meanwhile, we do find it another interesting coincidence that this phenomenon is due to arrive on Planet Earth one day before the vote will be taken in the House Chamber on Obamacare; and just as the U.S. has worked aggressively to "divide the land" that has been given to the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. No matter what, it is time to repent and to cry out for mercy before the One who created us all, and in whose Hand lies the destiny of the nations. - Luke 21:25:

There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars. On the earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea.

This Week, Worship Our Lord As . . .

LORD OF HOSTS (Adoni Tsvahot)

"Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts; the whole earth is filled with His glory!" (Isaiah 6:3)

Lord of Hosts, how glorious it is to be in Your presence! My heart and my flesh sing for joy to you, for there is none like You. You, Lord of Hosts, Lord of All Heavenly Armies and Heavenly Hosts -- YOU do battle for me! As the seraphim say, "The whole earth is filled with Your Glory!" I shall never let the rocks out-praise me. How I love You, O Lord of Hosts! AMEN.
